a positive value of psi represents the amount of air pushing against the inside of the tire. where -1000psi would represent a force applied to the outside of the tire squishing it together.
Messing around with force is quite fun too, I tried giving a BAC Mono -500lb downforce, and when it started getting to 200mph it would just wheelspin and sometimes completely lift off the ground.
@AR12Gaming Nick , To actually make the tire look flat you would have to change the tire textures too , not just the values. The game isn't designed for people to just experiment with unlimited possibilities . Therefore it totally makes sense the tires don't appear to be flat or huge due to the PSI . Keep that in mind for future videos and tests , maybe it'll help you out .
In real life you can only go to -14.7psi because our atmospheric pressure is 14.7. At -14.7 there would be a perfect vacuum and there would not be a single molecule of air left. You can't go lower because there's nothing else to take out.
If the tires are at -1000 psi, this means that the air around the tire would be 1000 psi higher than the inside of the tire. Physically, this would be impossible because the standard psi in the air around is is around 14.7 psi. A super vacuum, (a vacuum with less than 100 particles per square meter) has an almost neutral psi. It is impossible to go below a neutral amount of particles or pounds per square inch.
First I want to say, great video and ur the best TH-camr I know. 8:49 Not me either but I think that it would act like 1000 psi but just vacuum in the tire instead of air. Tho negative psi or negative vacuum at all is totally impossible cause vacuum is nothing and you can’t have negative nothing. Complete vacuum (0 psi)would pull the tire together cause it’s higher pressure (more air) on the outside than on the inside, obviously cause it’s nothing in there. Love from Sweden😜
If you somehow managed negative pressure in the tyres, which would be a vacuum, or negative pressure relative to 1 atm, or 0 psi, the rubber would fold inwards and you'd have a weird flappy thingy for a tyre.
Hey Nick, I think the tires 'animation' is not programmed to show 0 psi, nor the 1000. That's why it doesn't show it on the tire. Also, from a physics standpoint, relative 0 psi is basically an atmospheric pressure, so vacuum is around -14.5 psi. It is physically not possible to have pressure under -14.5 psi and if you had between 0 and -14.5, the tire would be possibly flattened not only under the car but everywhere, doesn't matter if it touches the ground on this spot or it doesn't. I hope i helped :)
Atmospheric pressure is around 14.7 psi, so those tires should have imploded. True flat tires would be 14.7 psi, anything below that is a vacuum, it's impossible to have negative psi, because you can't have less that no atoms in the tires.
Having no or little pressure in the tire allows the rim to roll over the tire meaning you'd be driving on your sidewalls and or feel like you're rolling sideways on a ball
Nick if think about it the tires don't have any pressure so The only thing it is running on if rims. Yes you still have tires but the is nothing that can pop it so it is lowers due to air
-AR12 gaming The reason the mx-5 felt weird is because if the tire pressure is lower than 20 psi, the more it will lose grip at speeds exceeding 100 mph causing it to spin out.
A -1,000 psi vacuum would make the tires implode if it was instant but as if it was gradually getting to the maximum vacuum pressure that the tire compound could hold the tires and they would explode once it went over it because the tires would literally tear themselves apart... maybe?
Hey nick, been watching for a while now, and i have a game idea. What if you grabbed a fan lobby and hot wheels.. and then played full map infected. Roads only, and no names over cars for runners
I have a suggestion for another video if you haven't done it already. You made an SUV into a supercar or the other way round, I can't remember, please can you do the same either way with a Monster Truck. It would be funny to see it race. It would also be fun to race a monster truck motorbike. Please.
Assuming you could even reach that point, at -1000 psi I think it would be a safe bet to go with your tires are more or less nonexistant and you are driving on rims.
if we say air inside the tire press the tire is positive psi, then negative psi probably means the air outside the tire press the tire. Then I think the tire cannot be round anymore. Btw, our atmosphere has about 15 psi olny
A vacuum would be 0psi and negative psi I guess is only possible while removing air from inside the wheel by using a vacuum cleaner. But I don't really thing that negative psi is possible. But who knows. Tis just a theory.
Nick u should have put the front tires higher and the back ones flatter to see the difference and u should have put realistic damage on so u can see if the tires shredded as the car moved
I really enjoy your content Nick! I was just wondering though if you are being affected by the TH-cam algorithm? There is another creater name FailRace (I believe you two made avideo together a few years ago) that makes similar content to you and is being negatively affected by this. It sucks that so many great creaters are being brought down because of this algorithm and I don't want channels like yours and FailRace to go because of it.
-1000 PSI in a tire is impossible. It would pull the tire off the rim and air would come in so fast it could possibly inflate the tire. I'm not a physicist but in my limited understanding that's what would happen.
You can't see the tires "flat" because the game only simulate the visual tire pressure between 15 and 55 psi, just my 2 cents
Nick nigh, the science guy
Lol. Bill nye the science guy!
*nye
nick nick nick nick nick nick nick
Nick's high and gonna die
how does this not have more likes?
Yeah air pressure at sea level is like 14 Psi so -1000 psi would be less than a vacuum, it wouldn’t be possible.
Well actually standard air pressure at sea level is 760mm of Hg witch is 14.70 psi so yeah
No both of you are stupid its 1 bar or atm imperial sucks butt
@@bigfattank101 lmao theres like 3 countries that use bar
a positive value of psi represents the amount of air pushing against the inside of the tire. where -1000psi would represent a force applied to the outside of the tire squishing it together.
*I Wonder What -5000 PSI And 50 Deg Camber Would Be Like*
Messing around with force is quite fun too, I tried giving a BAC Mono -500lb downforce, and when it started getting to 200mph it would just wheelspin and sometimes completely lift off the ground.
You should make a SUPER DONK, like make the El Camino rim size crazy big. like if you want this to.
You should make an extreme jelly car. Mod every value to go down to 1lb.
Last time I was this early, Nick had a mop on his head.
bruh that sti background is so awesome
just joined Nicks notification squad

Welcome my friend
Been there FOR EVER BITH

Just imagine if the tires on all cars in real life were more "flated"
Or are they already????
you should do a hatchback challenge were you take a hatchbacks make it S class or A class for drag and circuit
cool idea
I just love Fortza Horizon 3 so much
Do another hide and seek game but with trucks like the Ford rapter
cooljh vlogs *Raptor*

Lol your video is 9:59 no money
Alex Botea he did that on purpose because he enjoys TH-cam better than making money

Getting a comment each video nick honestly your videos are the only thing I look forward to at night

that subaru wrx hint thoooo
Pofkinizz it wasn’t a hint dude. It’s just a cool background
MrGarbage Yeah, He's been playing us ever since the RS4
AR12Gaming ...... Next time put a wallpaper that's like completely out of your budget league...... Like a lambo or a ferrari..
Pofkinizz I know right the background is awesome
Pofkinizz that’s not a hint he already owns a Subaru wrx but it’s a cool background
I am always happy when I see one of your videos

-1000 psi equal rims are now blob of metal
Drag tires be like
Awesome Desktop Wallpaper!
You should do the tire size like put tiny tires on it?
Atmospheric pressure is around 14.7 psi, so those tires should have imploded. True flat tires would be 14.7 psi, anything below that is a vacuum, it's impossible to have negative psi, because you can't have less that no atoms in the tires.

Nice , I’m a big fan , I watch you all the time and love your vids
Love you videos Nick!!! Keep it up!!!
Maybe for another episode. try and edit the ride/suspension height of a car and see how tall you can make it, see if it doesn’t tip over
Nice vids bruv
of course we like before we see the video because we are sure it will be awesome
Like your desktop wallpaper Nick👌👍
-AR12 gaming The reason the mx-5 felt weird is because if the tire pressure is lower than 20 psi, the more it will lose grip at speeds exceeding 100 mph causing it to spin out.
The physics change basically realistically within the natural slider range.
Love your vids Nick keep it up!
*MOAR SCIENCE*
Next idea: Make your suspension way too stiff, like 100,000 LB/IN. I'd really like to see how that turns out if you raise the car to the max
AR12 Gaming cos I'm a science sweat, at - 1000 psi the air pressure would be greater outside of the tire so it would implode.
Having low tire pressure is like playing project cars 2 lol
Ive been try to get a chance to make a vid for a while my dude Nick keep makein bangers
You should do... Heaviest 1:1 power to weight, lightest 1:1 powers to weight and a 1:1 gear ratio
I have a suggestion for another video if you haven't done it already. You made an SUV into a supercar or the other way round, I can't remember, please can you do the same either way with a Monster Truck. It would be funny to see it race. Forza science is more interesting than school science
Yes please get that Subaru in the background.
nick, you gotta do a rim size video, (Change values to 1 or 0 and like.... 3,650 lol), seriously that would be epic
Every time nick said negligible replace it with minute (third definition when u google it) and it makes a lot more sense
@0:28 GPS be like: turn left & hit the tree
I jave subbed and smashed that bell and like button on every vid😁
YOU ARE GREAT
You should make a bouncing car!👍
You should call it Let's science and make a series out of it.
Damm that subie background tho
36th. love the vids nick keep em up. why not do some more rally vids. They were great fun!!!!!!!!
Better than the magic school bus science
Whos wathing this on 2020 september

Love your videos
Even in the normal game u can see the tires deforming when u turn. But only with like buggy or raptor wheels. Maybe u can try that out.
you should use this for an insane drag build
I see Nick's testing the Megahypersofts for F1 2020
Set the spring stiffness MIN to 1 and MAX to 100000
Nick, you should make negative pounds of downforce on aero and see if the car starts to fly
I think your tires would become a singularity that would end up destroying all things known to man.
Assuming you could even reach that point, at -1000 psi I think it would be a safe bet to go with your tires are more or less
nonexistant and you are driving on rims.
New featured was discovered in FH3 today, cars have runflat tires
Nick put the convertible tops up in an episode
if we say air inside the tire press the tire is positive psi, then negative psi probably means the air outside the tire press the tire. Then I think the tire cannot be round anymore.
Btw, our atmosphere has about 15 psi olny
everybody commenting first then you have me like nope, nope, nope.
[ 1:06 ] *new car confirmed*
nick when your car has negative psi it would be a vacuum and then the tire would stick around the wheel very thight
Nick is still confused like what should be his new car 😂 everybody pray for Nick for a better vision on what should he pick
Nick, try making a drift car with a stupid amount of horsepower
A vacuum would be 0psi and negative psi I guess is only possible while removing air from inside the wheel by using a vacuum cleaner. But I don't really thing that negative psi is possible. But who knows. Tis just a theory.
Nedd to make the tire pressure really really hard and make like 1000000 psi
Joey Machattie *need
Subaru background boi!!!
Do a science experiment to wear you can see how high you can lift a vehicle with the springs just for the hell of it
With negative psi, the tires wouldn't be tired anymore at all because you are floating
It can’t be another Subaru because nick wants more than 500 horsepower

AnAnonymousAuditor my bad
Yr the best youtuber in the world
Now can we put negative tire pressure?
NOSTALGIA
Nick u should have put the front tires higher and the back ones flatter to see the difference and u should have put realistic damage on so u can see if the tires shredded as the car moved

great videos
I said in the last video that you should put crazy camber on the super thin wheels
Dude you should do like huge rim sizes
