      Hi Jonathan! I have played for over 40 years, and apparently so have you..?!
      thanks for inspiring me to dabble on: I have a left middle finger injury, but just played for 2 hours, and with other fingers it goes along, no barre chords thou...
      Thanks for the Joyo Taichi review, I now have 2 IRIN Taichis, and I named the 2nd one TAIKE ( Kantonese China...),
      Im from Finland!
      Jon, youre not too loud, youre just too good!! LOVELOVELOVE its easy, guitar playing is difficult, but if you have others or a looper or backing music, or even your mind set it becomes therapy/zen/meditation...!!!!!
      I saw a tv program with a good famous guitarist and he had damaged his left hand in an accident and drove to therapy 1,5 years and then went to a shop, and the shoppist/guitarmaker gave him a thick-necked guitar and he liked it: Ive come to a conclusion that best therapy for my weakened left hand is to play guitar: my fingers still come to life together after/while playin....
      JON: I wish the word TAIKE could mean THANKYOU, but in finnish TAIKA means MAGIc, so we are close!
      Thank You JON! ⛸⚽
      🎇::: ===== ( O )

    I have just recently fallen in love with the R series by Joyo. I already have 9 pedals from that series, and I'm about to purchase this one. Thanks for the great demo!
    And man, I absolutely LOVE your playing!!! I've watched a few of your demos now, and it's a pleasure to sit and listen to you play, even long after you've already shown me what the product sounds like. Do you have any original music available?

    The Dumble warm overdrive harmonic notes are there with the Tai Chi pedal !
    The highs have a silky tone and no shrill highs at all !
    The Overdrive sustain is beautiful on bends and my glass slide was so musical without the gritty normal OD tone of other pedals i usually use !
    This pedal has plenty of gain yet is not crunchy with shrill highs at all but incredible sustain that lets the high notes sing !

    Just got this pedal a week or two ago for my first pedal board. Still playing around with it to get the tone I like out of it. Really sings when using a humbucker (or double humbuckers). Less gainy when using single coil pickups. But when I have my compressor before the Taichi, I get more out of single coils. Perhaps because I new to pedals and this pedal in particular, I have to say that the one thing I do not like is the white writing on the silver background. It can be hard to read/see depending on how the light shines on it. But once I learned what each dial did, it wasn't an issue. Nonetheless, they should have used a dark grey writing. I also like that I can turn off the LED lights
    But I do like this pedal. I'm not a mega gain type player. Happy with my purchase.

    I love how you describe the frequencies boosted by the pedals. I remember you mention the same for the Maximum pedal. I think it's useful when one is considering to purchase 2 or more pedals. My thinking is that - it probably doesn't make sense to have 2 pedals that focus on the same frequency ranges if one is stacking gain. Let me know what you think, especially if my thoughts aren't great. Thanks.

    just ordered a 2nd IRIN Taichi, 26€s!: still have to find its sweet spot after my other pedals, I thinks its the final finesse/touch, and I love it cause its not too heavy sounding,but a light touch after my darker jazzy pedals! one good quality in a pedal is how it acts with others, you can buy a400$ pedal, but if it doesn work with others its useless...

    Hi, I have the Taichi and the Tauren pedal.I like the John Mayer sound and a mild over drive. But I also like to play some Santana tunes. I don't really need the super high gain. More like the tune Moon Flower (Flor de luna) Could I combine the two pedals for that more high gain sound with both of them active? Which one would would you suggest to go first in line for something like that?

    The Taichi and Zip Amp sound great together. I think Joyo should do a double pedal with both along with an order switch. A cheap alternative to the Browne Protein, and other similar pedals. Trying to think of one of them, but I can't remember it. It's pretty pricy though. Anyways, cool videos.

    would u choose tauren or taichi? for classic breakup n low gain tones

  • @raymondtong2640
    @raymondtong2640 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have this Taichi. It’s modelled against the Zendrive which also has a voice knob. According to zendrive manual the voice knob allows to you cut the bass while increasing the overall gain. So relatively you can say it’s a mid boost, but it’s more a low cut and overall boost I think? That gives you better control over gain without muddling the lows. The tone control is a high cut which makes sense as a pairing to the voice control. I have found the same experiences with Tai chi.

    What a great price for a great sounding pedal Jon. I’ve had Joyo pedals before and they sounded really nice. Unfortunately my homes wonky power makes pedals without true bypass very noisey. Does this new one have true bypass? It really looks very interesting.
