I’m not a student, but students should start a protest to cap education tuition. There’s no reason for the price to be this high, especially if the return of the investment is so low. The cost of running universities vs the amount put into them is insane.

    Take-aways:
    1. Colleges overcharge to harvest government financial aid
    2. Society is over-demanding a college ed
    3. Businesses are over-demanding a college ed for their employments
    4. Colleges are not up front about what they charge.

Lol the ad at videos end was for a university. Glorious. And who's smarter really... the guy who followed the social norm and spent $$$,$$$ and 2-8 years to go to college or the guy who went and got a job or built a business and made money instead?

They expect people fresh out of high school to have this kind of money 😃

They dont, they expect people to go into debt that they can bail out with the dollars of taxpayers that didnt go to college

Just another way the government funnels taxpayer dollars to corporations.
Private colleges (and to a some extent public colleges) , end up raking in more profits (funding).
Government's should hold these institutions accountable by capping pricing and requiring transparency.
Recognize it for what it is; a transfer of wealth away from the middle class to those in positions of power... regardless of political affiliation.
All of the systems need to change, they are broken beyond repair.

THANK YOU…This is Great Stuff. All potential college students should watch this short documentary. It’s an eye opener & Congress failed the Nation every time someone tries to stand by Education & students!!! I don’t understand why the Congress is AGAINST standing by the recent bill to aid majority of students with their student loans. I have no one in my family with student loans but I have several good decent friends that I know they are struggling tremendously with paying back the loans ; one of my friends his son couldn’t find any decent job yet after he graduated from college but he MUST start paying back his student loan!!! The other 3 friends they are all struggling with paying back even with them having decent jobs!!! I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY OUR NATION IS THE ONLY NATION THAT DOES NOT OFFER FREE DECENT EDUCATION TO UNDERGRADUATES AND GRADUATES IN THE WELL DOING COUNTRIES!!!! Why Republicans are against helping college students??? Can anyone tells me please!!! I couldn’t find any decent logic explanation on the internet…!!! Thanks

It's not "free" in other countries. I have family friend in Denmark. And they have 50-60% taxes on income. But it pays for everything including healthcare and college and everything else that the USA rapes your wallet for
Americans are so scared of taxes it's hilarious. Our financial sector is so mismanaged and designed to keep the rich ultra rich that it literally kills people and leads to generations of poor
However they also get 5-8 paid vacation weeks per year. Prison population is low because it's designed to rehab you and you still have rights after. Instead of destroy you here
There's so many things wrong with this shitty country it's scary. Every time a republican (98% of the time it's some white person saying it) calls the USA the "greatest country on earth/ever" I laugh so loud that my stomach cramps
You can always spot a Republican too at the gym because they have to constantly wear clothes with flags on them because they can't stand not knowing where they live. Also if you need to constantly tell people "freedom" verbally or on clothes then you aren't free
Also remember "woke" is a boogeyman word that republicans hijacker's tjese past few years because they have no actual policies that anyone likes. Their entire policy every election is "lower taxes (for the rich)....ban any brown and black immigrants....give police free reign and infinite budgets. No rights for anyone that isn't white and straight and male. Women are evil and we must control them. And bail out all corporations and never bail out citizens "
Republicans are cancer incarnate and they love money as much as they love death

It's funny that the "Tuition Paid At Public 4-Year Colleges" chart starts at 1986. That's right after all Baby Boomers (the largest group of voters in history until recently) hit voting age. They took an education that was cheap and wanted it to be cheaper so they voted for people that would use the government to help. Then the government threw a bunch of money at the colleges and universities. Unfortunately the colleges and universities decided that they could raise tuition, because the government was subsidizing it, at the rate of donation from the government so it would look like the students didn't ultimately have to pay more themselves. Then the heads of universities started getting paid more and more and more. The rate of increase for them far outpaced the increase for the professors that did the actual work that makes college worth it. Of course that happened once narssisistic boomers held those high positions. In short, boomers ruined it for everyone behind them just like they ruined everything else for us.

Agreed. But then they turn around and have the audacity to point fingers at the younger generations.

@@amandanichole8648 Very true. They're to narcissistic to see what they've done to the people behind them. They just say that everyone else is lazy when they've had it easier then anyone in history.

This is why all aid including scholarships and loans need to be illegal for public universities in order for them to receive public funds at all. Other than that if they choose to participate in scholarships from third parties And choose to forgo public assistance, okay fine. They can remain private and face a corporate tax at 55% and then a surtax on top of that to pay for the negative in economic impact they have on society such as homelessness, crime rates just like we charge recycling fees for computers and TVs. If we're not going to fully subsidize education then we need to fully unsubsidized it completely. No half measures. has to go fully one way or another. Either no one pays for college or everyone pays for college, including the universities themselves. They need to pay their fair share. Businesses have to pay tax. Why shouldn't universities?
