Sourajit De What do you mean? Im not hearing a 5 meter at any level. Or are you saying it’s 5 minus something? I understand that what they count in the beginning is essentially 81/16 (7x3, 6x3, 5x3, 4x3, 3x3, 2x3) then the simpler pattern they repeat intermittently is in 47/16 (3 measures of 4/4 but minus one 16th note). I’m hearing the same durations for the next couple times (though they reverse it - 2,3,4,5,6,7 - then back again - 7,6,5,4,3,2) But it sounds like their meter or subdivisions change halfway through (but they don’t change the 47/16 bit after each phrase).
This is great, thank you for sharing. I still get lost easily after the first count and then just about regain it when you do the single beats on counts. Still great learning.
Sir I am karthic from tirupur i am a thavil artist i want how to calculate the padam how to set how the calculation and easily why to understand tha karvai
I would love to know how the counting relates. I've tried counting along and lose it right away. Lol. What am I missing? Is the intro just a representation of a decending pattern? Man This stuff challenges one's self. All day.
I love this instrument
For people who didnt understand,..... its in 5/4 time signature. At every 8th quaver note, they are starting again from 1.

Dude is counting with his teeth/jaw (right)
Amazing
Someone beat me too it! I count this way sometimes instead of using my foot. Nice observation!

Man
This stuff challenges one's self.
All day.
cool shit
I would be cool if they did 5/4 clave
can someone explain in layman terms
Where is geometry sir? Can u explain it.
I think they meant arithmetic
Ya even I didn't understand y it says geometry...
Geometry because it is full of 'proportions'.
Then arithmetic suits for that.
Rhythm defines space between beats, so you could talk of geometry
que dicen al final? algun inaní por aca?
Sólo dijeron sus nombres jaja
Sus nombres
ಸಕ್ಕತ್ತಾಗಿ ಇದೆ
👍👍👍😍🤗🌺🌷⚘🌱🌼🌻🌹
Kick ass
Why it is called mridng ?Please tell. This Carnatic mridang is not made from earth or soil.
Vishesh Sharma It is said to have been built with clay in ancient days....
It is Mrithangam
Means object made of soil
no no Mo
This is easy .. just take one note away every other cycle ... that and play for 1000 years. xD
Haze Anderson there is far more math inDian classical than in any form of music... appreciate your interest....but you need to do more research
th-cam.com/video/6pOd1O_8fIc/w-d-xo.html , (Music is Devine whether it's Western or indian) nothing is easy unless we work hard for it!
Ok, get a mridangam and play what they played.. I bet you will take 5 years a minimum to even start appreciating what they played.
I'm sorry that these people in the comments didn't understand your joke 😭, but good one!
I have seen better duos no offense but this is good
I don't think they were claiming any of that
Fantastic
VERY NICE
