Been watching various rewilding videos for a while and stumbled across this one. Amazing what you discover you didn't know about your own county! Will have to check it out. Thanks for bringing awareness of this project.
Another beautiful video Trev at Coombeshead Rewilding! I’ve learnt so much from your very informative broadcasts and this is no exception. I loved all the wildlife, flora and fauna, close up and personal. Camping a meadow full of buttercups, so pretty. IWater Buffalo past your tent! That’s something you don’t see everyday! What great work by the owner and in a relatively short amount of time, already has made such a difference! Loved the Exmoor Ponies, Storks, Beavers too. Music, as usual, adds to the ambience. I’d love to visit one day,! You’re so talented and I’m so proud of you and what you do! Look forward to your next film. Xx
What a fabulous video Trev, professional, quality loved it. Sat myself down with some chocolate malted milk biscuits and a coffee and it was just so relaxing, definitely one to show Mark when he gets home. Isn’t nature wonderful; thank you for sharing x

It's a shame that buffaloes aren't used more in European rewilding initiative. And itls always domestic buffaloes never real wild water buffoes which are twice the weight and have more impressive horns.
True, rewilding initiatives around eurooe should also use the wild counterpart alongside tje domestic one that is present in Europe since the romans and then the byzantines and which they became adapted to the European conditions which can makes them a native animal
@@DholeCC17 Not really, Domestic animals aren't really native, we only use them because we lost the wild specie. No one would use pigs when we have boar. Dogs aren't substitute for wolves. Or goat with ibex, sheep with mouflon etc. It only work with horse and some cow breed. But still there's a lot of species that could be reintroduced or included in European rewilding. Dhole. Leopard. Lion. Stripped hyena. Spotted hyena. Tamia. Raccoon dog. Flying squirrels. Muskox Reindeer. Wapiti. Argali. Elk/moose. Wolverine. Saiga Dorca gazelle Oricou vulture Bearded vulture Ruppell vulture Blackbuck Barbary macaque Snow sheep Ground squirrels Ostriches Puma Snow leopard Tibetan antelope Gelada monkey Langur All of those were in Europe or are proxie for very similar species (generally in the same genus) that once roamed Europe. And that if we forget the species we lost and can't truly replace or would be hard to replace Dwarf hippo, many otters and deers of mediterranean islands. Grey whale, straight tusked elephant, hippo, megaloceros, merck rhino, steppe wisent, steppe rhino etc.
Lets get something true and straight ,rewilding projects fail because the landscape and actions of man are now completely different ,to when those species existed...the only rewilding i can think of in relative terms is the otter release programne from years ago which has escalated across the country decimating bird and fish life in its wake .. Thats a fact seen the damage done hundreds of times from lutra lutra...
