    I tried this dish and it came out perfect! The time settings on the pot were perfect too- the rice wasn't too mushy but the veggies were still crisp. Thank you~!

    I dont think it is biryani, it is called Veg pulao. Biryani is a dish, where semi cooked rice is cooked on dum.

    I have a cuisinart pressure cooker and I tried this recipe but the 1 c rice: 2 cup water/veg stock caused the rice to become soggy. I'll have to go and get a IPot as I love Indian food but am vegan. What size pot would you recommend for just 2 people. I also want to learn to make two different dishes at the same time in the IPot. Like veggie biyani and lentils for example.

      If you want to do pot in pot recipes, we suggest the 6 quart Instant Pot. Hope this helps!

    Hi Poonam! I loved your Instant Pot Fried Rice recipe and make it quite often. I'm hoping to try this Biryani recipe out for dinner and I was wondering how much water should I use if I'm using two cups of rice?

    • @InstapottinWithPoonam
      @InstapottinWithPoonam  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! You can use 1.5 cups of water for 2 cups rice. Hope that helps!

    Where is the recipe for how much to put in. When I clicked on the website - it doesn't exist.

  • @richardmccombs617
    @richardmccombs617 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You should hook up with an online store so that one click will get all the ingredients. Yes I know this is lazy American but finding the correct stores and product can be intimidating. Plus you should be able to generate a little more income stream.

      Hello. Thank you for reaching out. On our website for each recipe we link ingredients that can be purchased via Amazon (ones that are unique and may not be readily available at the grocery store). We hope this helps.

    Soooooo good. This was the first recipe for my Instapot. Mine didn't have any steam, lol. And, I totally burned the bottom. I think I need some more practice.

      +Rush Hour Mom I'm so happy you took the plunge and tried our recipe! I'm sorry to hear the bottom burned. Did you use as many vegetables as I did? I really hope you will continue cooking in your InstantPot! We've all had to practice and even then, we've all have our hits and misses :)

      +Tridhos You can definitely omit the oil or use coconut oil or ghee or whatever you please.

    Great recipe. But this is pulav and not biryani. you would have to half boil the rice and layer it at the top to make biryani (The water from the vegetables/meat at the bottom steams the top layer of rice while the bottom layer cooks to a thick flavorful consistency in the oil at the bottom). I like your recipe but viewers should know a difference between a pulav and a biryani. Sorry for being a biryani snob ;)

      Not at all! The Instant Pot makes it easier but we definitely have to make concessions from the traditional ways

    Just watched your recipe. The rice looks very sticky and wet. I prefer rice that separates and not sticky or wet. Recommendations for non-sticky, wet rice?

    • @InstapottinWithPoonam
      @InstapottinWithPoonam  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Marilyn Jhung Hi! You can cut the amount of water down to 1.25-1.5 cups if you want the rice to be separate and less sticky. I hope this helps!

    I'd like to add more vegetarian protein to this ... can I just toss in some lentils or chickpeas?

    • @InstapottinWithPoonam
      @InstapottinWithPoonam  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Lisa Goldman Absolutely! That's a great idea! I would toss them in right before the rice.
