    Just bought this for $130 and I couldn't be happier. Cools super fast. I hook it up to my 360 watt power station and it runs for over a day. Love this thing!

    I love this size, form and compressor for my small van. I have an Alpicool version it's very durable and reliable. You can freeze a block of ice in Florida with it! One thing I'm testing/trying now is looking for way to as a freezer but installing a custom horizontal divider and insulating veggies (tomatoes, onions&peppers) in a neopreme bag on top. The trick to using a fridge this small in solo van-life and off grid is to be healthier, go vegan and drink only water and at room temperture.

    How do you mount the fridge at the back as you show, because when you drive it will be easy displaced from its position, do they sell it with mounting plastic brackets to avoid this?

    How much does it weigh? Can you use it in the rain? How long does it keep food cool without power?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It weights 20lbs. You should not use it in the rain. As to how long it keeps cool, for drinks it will keep it pretty cold for couple hours. But for meat products, you don't want to let it sit inside without power too long.

    0 °F is not the freezing temp of water, 32 °F is the freezing temp of water.
    O °C is freezing temp of water.
    179 USD is a bit pricey. A bag of ice & a stryrofoam cooler would be a much less expensive option.

    • @nicholaslandolina
      @nicholaslandolina 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but won't last as long

    • @ab_ab_c
      @ab_ab_c 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Hypnomatic Hypnosis 0 by itself is just a number and 0 ° by itself is also insufficient as it doesn't indicate the temp scale.
      The recommend temp of a freezer is 0 °F--which is well below freezing.

    • @ab_ab_c
      @ab_ab_c 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nicholaslandolina Actually it lasts for hours--which for most people out for the afternoon is more than sufficient. For those camping through a weekend, obviously they would need to replace the ice every now & then.
      The solution described in the vid. is expensive & it relies on your veh as a power source to keep it cold--which means the cost to acquire & use it over a weekend is quite expensive.
      The power consumption is also ~32 Wh in eco mode or 47 Wh in normal mode--so it uses quite a lot of power--especially if you leave it inside the car on a hot day (in which the inside temp of the car can easily get to over 140 °F in warm climates.

    • @Wingnut353
      @Wingnut353 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ab_ab_c It only uses that much power for a short time, average power use is more like 8W.... after the contents are cooled down. Also heat in a car depends alot on where you park.... if you are camping chances are you have shade or can leave the vehicle open to outside air. People that use these want something where they don't have to fool with ice... if you only need the cooler for a few hours of course get an ice cooler but if you want to use it long term as a portable fridge this is a no brainer!

  • @TexanUSMC8089

    Why would you want your freezer at 0 F? 32F is freezing.

    • @jacobd4955
      @jacobd4955 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm supper late but as someone who works with frozen perishables 0 is the best to prevent freezer burn say you set it perfectly at 32 degrees well now your constantly slightly thawing it evertime the door opens or right before the system cycles slowly forcing the water out of the product at 0 the effect is much lower though skyrockets below -10 degrees

    • @Wingnut353
      @Wingnut353 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jacobd4955 Also its a few degrees above the minimum temp it can achieve... which means it won't be running as much to get to 0 as it would to get to -4F

  • @patrickwelch620
    @patrickwelch620 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you ever get this down to -4 degrees? Probably not. These reviews are nonsense. I bought one and specs are lies. The insulation is so bad the outside sweats! Chincy AF.
    Make some real reviews.
    You are basically selling this. Be better.

    How fast does it cool ?
    No one cares about features and all that nonsense you are explaining,..does it reach maximum-20C that is important ,..does it keep temperature, is it well insulated,…a lot of you guys seem like clown 🤡 wasting peoples time with a lot of nonsense
