Today we are working on a 1921 ish Wurlitzer Model AA pedal harp pulled outta a basement and some dudes van. The good news (I guess) is that it has a cracked back, it's covered with soda, and used as a cigarette ash tray... The bad news is that is also has a cracked neck - which is a somewhat common problem with these instruments. So let's starting reviving a 100 year old harp!
I've been experimenting with repairing instruments with carbon fiber grafts and this is my biggest job to date. To fix this damaged harp we did a forged carbon fiber repair on both sides and bottom using 2k twill carbon fabric. Then to showcase what carbon can do - I did a forged look carbon fiber from ULTICARBON cosmetic layup. This ForgeTEX Metallic fabric has gold leaf flakes mixed in it. Not only does this stuff look absolutely awesome - it's a stabilized carbon fiber so its less likely to fray or move around on you and is the only carbon I use for cosmetic top layers. And specifically whenever in-settting carbon into a repair.

Been following you for a long time, and I always look forward to your videos and wide range of topics. It is so cool to see the plethora of skills you showcase here, from Harps and home improvement/repairs, old craptastical Ford gauge clusters, your LS powered Beetle and Buick Riviera, to your travels and adventures shared; the list goes on and on. A true renaissance man. I will be ordering some of that carbon fiber you showed to work on a poorly executed aftermarket hood for an Oldsmobile. I need some structural repairs and some cool looking areas as well.

I think I'll do this too, thanks for the video. I'm a complete beginner, just found a really cheap good quality harp with a crack on the neck. Do you have any advice or anything to look out for?
