  • This is a 2-hour video created from start to end to show the process of creating a Pokemon Ball outer shell in Plasticity. This video is for beginners to learn how to use the tools provided in Plasticity. This was created in version 1.0. These objects will be added to my Patreon page for access to these to follow along and to be able to do a closer study on how this was made. If you also want to help with my Patreon page so that I continue to create these videos that would be greatly appreciated. There are some sections of the video I bypassed to reduce some of the overall time in which I added some verbiage for understanding. If you like this type of stuff please subscribe so that I can continue to create this kind of content. Below are some of my links to see other works as well as a discord page I just created to use for gathering of creative 3d artist that want to share their works.

    Incredible job and design!
The only thing I recommend for your workflow is to use "hollow solid", "imprint curve to solid" (and then extrude the shapes in) and "offset/offset curve". Especially since doing many booleans wastes a lot of time

Thank you, that is coming soon. Next steps planning to create the interior and then the video to texture, lighting and render.

Hi, I can't type in values when creating a rectangle or a circle like in 4:22 There is no field for that in the context menu which appears in the bottom left, can you help me with this? Thanks

Hello Onur, this was created with version 1.0 which was using inputs as shown. My newest videos I am using 1.1 and that option is now different. The new style shows the sizing as you pull this out. The sphere and corner box option is an easy way to put the exact size on the z view for example to be able to type in the sizes if needed and then you can outline the object with the circle and corner rectangle to outline to get an exact size. Hope this helps

@@ThreeDCreateTutorials hello Jon, I figured out that I have to press tab for type in sizes while I'm dragging out a shape. Thanks for the reply and for your awesome videos. I will work with all of them. 😀

Glad you figured this out, the Tab option I need to look into. Thanks for the positive feedback

Jon - clean. nice workflow and spherical study. video'd the first ~10min, sans Plasticity at the ready. consider using the "Hollow" command to shell out the innards of the semi-spheres, vice boolean with a sphere of slightly less diameter. should accelerate/simplify your workflow.

Thanks Ken W! For sure I will try the Hollow command.

@@ThreeDCreateTutorials further investigation reveals that my method will results in a portion of sphere (in the z direction) being subsumed as you Hollow out the sphere. that is, you will eat part of the sphere's geo as the Hollow progresses. perhaps, this can be combated by Extruding the center "ring" in the +/- z direction to fill the gap?

Good suggestions however I am mostly used to Boolean process.
