    Awesome rig! Queue the inevitable salty comments about price. If the cost is out of reach, do what I'm doing, learn to TIG and build your own. It will still surprise you how much material cost goes into something like this.

    • @larryrobinson08
      @larryrobinson08 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am researching building my own as well. I’m holding my breath on prices of material as you say. And these things are enough to make my dick hard, especially just driving 1000 miles in Baja California Mexico on a lot of dirt roads as well as highways, with three of the four trailers being the major flats and The problem is I have my own refrigerator, I want to sleep on my own mattress, 1000 watt inverter is minimal. My solar would be panels with lithium ion at 24 volts etc. I’m sure you have the same thoughts

I love this trailer but do not like the commercial for it, there are about 315 different camera shots in about 13 minuets it was hard to focus on any part before it flashed to another then another. I wish it would slow down and actually show us some actual detail before moving on. Maybe there will be a more detailed review in the future. As much as I love this thing it might not be the best choice for Canada, as I write this it is minus 41C here today.

    • @8654ZuluFoxtrot
      @8654ZuluFoxtrot 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, not even close to the same thing. I looked at the PCOR a few times, and it’s cool, but not even on the same level as this trailer. I understand the tent’s ladder would need to be able to adjust for the greater height you would get on the bed of a truck, but it would be something I would buy in a heartbeat. I just can’t justify $56,000 for a trailer when I can buy an entire 4WD truck or Jeep for that amount.

    • @8654ZuluFoxtrot
      @8654ZuluFoxtrot 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ray Matias Not sure what your point is, but you can absolutely build out a bed kitchen on just about any Jeep or PU. The point of my post isn't what you "can do" it's that I would love if they created a versos of this trailer that you could swap out for the stock bed on a Tacoma or Jeep Gladiator.

    This comment is in no way a criticism or an attempt at being snarky, but I still am trying to wrap my head around why I would want a tent on wheels with some power. I currently hike and car camp and I have all the amenities that a trailer like this has, just not all in a nice pretty package. Would someone mind just 'selling' me on the concept of camping like this. Please, I am not trying to be smart or anything. I like the look of these, but when I get serious about a purchase of one......my brain just can't pull the trigger.

    • @lexifrank7810
      @lexifrank7810 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I car camp too. Here’s why I’m looking at something like this. Takes me forever to set up camp. The tent, the privacy tent for toilet, and I then have to get my solar heated shower out and find a good place to hang that. I have to get all my stuff out of the packed car, keep it all sheltered under a tarp so it doesn’t get wet if it rains. Then when time to go home, break it all down and cram things away in the car. If it rained, the tent can be dirty, etc… with a trailer, I could stop for a night and be on my way again the next morning. Not as easy with car camping.

  • @beaujest4
    @beaujest4 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Now if you could convert the camper to either a slide on tray top camper or as a complete body mounted camper (no tray) instead of a trailer, you might be talking.

    So 3/4 of the video is talking about the same old features that the X1 already has. If its a new product reveal then just talk about what's new. No company puts out a new product and then touts old features.
    I dont think this will ever be as popular in the USA as Australia. 60k fully optioned is nearing a good motorhome and Americans generally wont buy a tent on wheels for that much.

      @thewhiskeycowboy-official 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As soon as someone states you can buy a good motorhome for that price, it shows a disconnect from the market and use of these trailer campers. Yes, you can. But it will not go where these trailer campers go. Also, the construction of those similarly prices motorhomes will not be the same.
      That said, are these for everyone? NO.
      Will the price cause many to not buy them? YES
      Are they overpriced? NO
      These same questions can be asked of every product out there, from TV's to Homes, to vehicles, watches, and on and on. There are $5,000 plus watches, and $50 watches. Both will do pretty much the same thing. Are they the "same"? No. Are their justifications for the higher priced one? Yes. Do you "need" that to simply "tell the time"? Nope. But if you WANT it, and can AFFORD it, by all means GET IT.
      These camper trailers are not for the average outdoor enthusiast. They are for those with the desire for something just a bit more, and the ability to pay for it. And frankly there is nothing wrong with that. And they are also not for those who want a "motorhome" or standard campground RV trailer. Those are wonderful as well, and suit a particular demographic and intended use. But they should never be directly compared with each other, because thy are simply not the same things at all.
      As for why they spent so much time going over features that were also part of their previous X1..... because a product video like this is not just aimed at those who have followed them for years, but for those who may be seeing it for the first time. So you cover the entire product. It is basic marketing.
      Cheers!

    • @kclamer
      @kclamer 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @H Maccas It is a reveal of a new product, why spend most of the video rehashing old features? I would rather have a 15min video showing off the new features in detail. Calling me an idiot only shows your low level of intelligence and arm chair bravery.

    Awesome bit of kit no doubts there. But at $53 grand plus options, out in the bush I would be shitting myself leaving it more than 10 ft from where I'm sitting. So small and light be easy for some lowlife to steal. Bit like owning an Bugatti Veyron! Amazing Aussie company story though.
