Hijab failed to demonstrate incoherence, but instead emphasized disagreement among Christians, which was not relevant to the topic of the debate. Rhetorically it can appear strong to accuse WLC of "rejecting the majority of Christianity", but the logical coherence of the Trinity does not stand or fall with popularity. An incorrect understanding may well be incoherent, but again this does not demonstrate that the Trinity itself is incoherent, even if it is a popular misunderstanding, because the incoherence is introduced by a mistaken definition. WLC demonstrated that there are plausible answers to all of the questions that Hijab raised, and whether Hijab is personally convinced of those does not affect whether the Trinity is logically coherent. Far from WLC needing to prove that the answers he gave to Hijab are necessarily true as a condition for demonstrating coherence, it was Hijab's job to demonstrate why his answers are necessarily impossible, which Hijab failed to do. As such the plausibility of WLC's answers stands and is enough to demonstrate that the Trinity is in fact logically coherent.

@@Tetrus120 Traditionally, Islam required a lot of "blind following", but the Internet allows Muslims to look things up for them selfs, and also TRANSLATE things properly, without bias or [added words]. Idk if you are muslim or not, but if you are, then you know that all Imams say "If you dont know fluent arabic, you cant read the quran, it is impossible to translate!"... which is a load of bologna, because every language can be translated. If a language cant be translated, it simply isn't a language, its gibberish, and surely the Quran is not gibberish lol. Not to mention, if it is actually impossible to translate into a different language on paper, then it is also impossible for someone to translate it verbally. If you cant translate the writing, then surely you cant translate it verbally. It does not make sense for something to be untranslatable on paper but not verbally. So, why are Imams so adamant about NOT reading the quran? Seems strange, especially if you are christian, because every single christian church service includes the pastor telling the crowd "read your bible!" at least 10 times each Sunday, over and over again. Going to church is only half the work, you need to read your bible! But not muslims, they are told to NEVER read it! Just listen to your Imams, trust us bro! @@needmoarcheese , actually, that argument, while entertaining, does not refute the Trinity. - Remember: the Trinity is defined as three distinct, yet, co-equal hypostases within one divine essence. This argument makes a categorical error; this argument fails to distinguish between hypostases and essence. Furthermore, there are several other issue to address here. - Firstly, he Trinity is metaphysical in nature, not mathematical. Math equations are inadequate tools to describe philosophical and theological assertions. - Second, there is a misapplication of the equation here; The equation "1 ÷ x = 1" implies that x must be 1 because division in mathematics requires that any number divided by itself is 1. The Trinity, however, treats the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as distinct persons within the same essence and not divisible parts of the same structure. These persons are, again, distinct, yet, co-equal hypostases within one divine essence; the persons of the Trinity can be distinguished but NOT separated. - Just for clarification, the Trinity is not “1 divided by 3,” the Trinity is “one God in three persons” and the concept can, therefore, not be reduced to a mathematical formula like the one you described. - In conclusion, because the Trinity is three distinct, yet, co-equal hypostases in one divine essence, the Trinity is not in violation of the Law of Non-contradiction and is, therefore, not “illogical” or “irrational,” as you suggested in a separate comment. -- Despite the Trinity being, difficult to wrap our heads around, the Trinity is not irrational nor illogical.

I do applaud Dr. Craig for being able to maintain such composure an patience with Hijab. As for the talking points. I noticed Hijab was quick to dismiss the claim that the Quran was outlining that Allah, Isa, and Mary was the trinity. [5:116] And when Allah said, "O ‘Isā, son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as two gods, other than Allah'?" This is further supported by the Quran in earlier passages. [5:73-75] "Surely Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one god, and if they do not refrain from what they are saying,... The Christ, son of Mary, is nothing except a messenger; indeed, other messengers have gone before him, and his mother is a siddīqah (virtuous person). They were eating the food. So why does the Quran itself go out of its way to emphasize the humanity of Mary if she supposedly was never divine? The quran is clearly stating that Mary was not divine as she was subjected to human needs. To go further, Muqatil Ibn Sulaiman's commentary on the Quran outlined 3 groups of Christians. As he wrote, Nestorians (Church of the East), who say Isa is the Son of Allah. The Jacobites (Orientals), say Allah is the Messiah. And the Melkites (Byzantines/Orthodox) who say Allah is a third of thee and is a god, and Isa is a god, and Mary is a god. I think with this evidence, it is safe to say that Hijab is running from the historical position that Muslims had as they did not converse with the Romans about theological doctrine to get a proper understanding of Christian doctrine.
It's really easy to stay calm when you know your opponent has no argument they could possibly pose against you. When God is on your side, how could you ever lose?
If you mean *_Muqatil ibn Sulayman,_* he was known to be a liar. I'm not sure I've ever heard of a Quqatil ibn Sulayman. But either way, yes the Qur'an does address the false belief of Mary's divinity. Why? Because people believed in it. If you don't, then rather than asserting the Qur'an just gets the trinity wrong, maybe consider the possibility that your beliefs are not the only false beliefs the Qur'an addresses. There have been thousands of versions of Christianity throughout the centuries. Collyridianism is one example of a sect that did believe Mary was a goddess. Granted, scholars are still debating its existence, but it was a church father who first wrote about it. Any guesses *_where_* he said it existed? Arabia. Regardless of whether this particular example ever existed, not everything is about you. There are plenty of verses that refute your preferred flavor of Christianity as well. What I find interesting, is how people want to talk about their misconceptions of the Qur'an "getting the trinity wrong", yet none of these people want to talk about WLC "getting the trinity wrong", which is far more relevant to the topic of discussion.
@@sunwukong32 You are talking such non-sense. Why would the Quran expose the wrong beliefs of a tiny christian cult, who saw Virgin Mary as God, when the Quran should expose the supposed changed Injil, which says that the Trinity consists of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit. The Quran in 5:116 should have exposed exactly this belief, which was believed by the majority of the Christians at the time of Muhammad, but instead, it's talking about Jesus and Mary as two Gods besides Allah, which just makes no sense. Islam did not understand the religion of the apostolic early church fathers.
@@sunwukong32 So why is it that this an objection to the trinity in the Quran? If I was to create a polemic against Islam, I don't base it off the Baha'i faith. Conversely, you as a modern Muslim would you base your polemic against Christianity by using Mormonism. So why is the Quran dedicating multiple verse to create a polemic against Collyridianism which was a women's only movement that existed in the 4th to 5th century, if it did at all? The main reason we only know about them is because Epiphanius condemned them, there is no other historical trace of them by name. Finally, here group dissolved 100 years before Mohamad was alive. So again, why is there a polemic against an ultra-fringe group (that may not have existed) that was not active for 100 years at least? Next, where does Islam condemn the Holy Spirit to be part of the trinity? At no point does the Quran ever go into the detail of the Spirit, which is the actual 3rd person of the trinity. You as a Muslim have no real answer to God giving his spirit to Moses, and then spreading that same spirit to the 70 elders. Numbers 11:25 Then the Lord came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, [h]although they never did so again. Numbers 11:29 Then Moses said to him, “Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!” While on the subject, we should take about Pentecost as The Holy Spirit came down upon the Apostles. They had tongues of fire rest on them and when the Apostles spoke, all could hear them in their own language. But we can keep going with the OT Genesis 6:3 Then the Lord God said, “My Spirit shall not remain with these people forever, for they are flesh. So their days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” Isaiah 44:3 For I will give water to the thirsty who walk in a waterless place. I will put My Spirit upon your seed and My blessings upon your children. Isaiah 48:16 "Come ye near unto Me, hear ye this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord GOD has sent me, and His Spirit." Joel 2:28 “After this it shall come to pass that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; God identifies "His Spirit" as himself (Gen 6:3 My Spirit). It is not a creation from him, it is God. Your supposed polemic falls flat when you can't accurately describe what the Ruh is and the Shekhinah Glory and how it rested on the Ark or filled the temple.
@@mastermiller2944 I'm going to suggest you save your time and energy in these responses in case you plan on going back into preacher mode. The Bible is a collection of books authored by men. It holds no authority or credibility in our paradigm, so it makes no sense to hold up a book you (Christians) wrote yourselves and say, _"Well how does God explain this??"_ Hopefully you can understand our position regarding this. He doesn't need to explain your book when you had no authority to write it in the first place. As for Collyridianism, I never said this was the sect that was intended as the audience of these verses. Think critically for a moment. How many "Christians" do you have today who belong to no church, no denomination, and they have random heretical beliefs that they've picked up from random places, and believed it all just because they liked it? There are "Christians" right now who believe Jesus was a mushroom. The point was only that the belief existed in the area. Collyridianism was called that because of (and defined by) their practice of making these cakes for Mary. If that particular sect who baked the cakes no longer existed, it doesn't mean people stopped worshiping Mary. Don't you think the Sahaba who converted from Christianity would have something to say if the Qur'an was describing a Christianity that didn't exist? You're presuming to tell God how He should have addressed your false belief. What difference does it make whether he specifically outlines your version of the Trinity or not? And again, why is this of more concern to you than WLC saying your version of the Trinity isn't biblical? If I were Christian and believed Islam to be false, I would be infinitely more concerned with one of the greatest Christian thinkers and debaters leveling an accusation of blasphemy at 99% of Christianity. But I digress. Whether you're a trinitarian, unitarian, Mormon, or anything other than Muslim, the Qur'an has told you in no uncertain terms that your belief is false. If the Qur'an is truly from God, are you going to stand before Him on judgment day trying to hide behind the excuse that he didn't specifically say your version of the Trinity was false? When He told you explicitly, He has no son and He is not one of three (whether that be beings *_or persons)?_* I doubt that would get you very far.
Mr. Hijab’s continuous attribution of human tendencies to God was the major miscommunication in this discussion. The position that “because physical things cannot coexist and be 100% responsible for the creation of the same thing” is equating God to humanity which is obviously an unresonable connection to make, no matter which side of this debate you’re on.

I like this 2 minute back and forth format because it exposess Hijab: Craig refutes Hijab's every argument and Hijab simply repeats them as if he never said them
What I don’t understand is why Hijab kept saying that Craig does not align with more orthodox positions. Who cares? The debate is not whether orthodox views on the trinity are coherent, but whether the trinity is. Craig offers an account of the trinity, one he believes is based upon NT texts, and defends it. Hijab’s burden in the debate is not alleviated by saying Craig’s view is not orthodox, nor is it met through noting that Islamic doctrine has made similar claims. So long as Craig’s view is Christian, trinitarian and not identical to Islam, it makes no difference.
Of course it makes a difference, the point is that Craig deviates from more orthodox understanding, and thus his views are important to understand of the Trinity is coherent from his understanding
@@mattholt2451it doesnt make a difference. Attacking strawmen is a fallacy. WLC being a heretical protestant and not understanding subordination in the trinity is a whole other issue.

The trinity is a doctrine. The doctrine, in Christianity, is as follows: *_"We worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Essence. For there is one Person of the Father; another of the Son; and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one; the Glory equal, the Majesty coeternal. Such as the Father is; such is the Son; and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father uncreated; the Son uncreated; and the Holy Ghost uncreated. The Father infinite; the Son infinite; and the Holy Ghost infinite. The Father eternal; the Son eternal; and the Holy Ghost eternal. And yet they are not three eternals; but one eternal. As also there are not three uncreated; nor three infinites, but one uncreated; and one infinite. So likewise the Father is Almighty; the Son Almighty; and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And yet they are not three Almighties; but one Almighty. So the Father is God; the Son is God; and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet they are not three Gods; but one God. So likewise the Father is Lord; the Son Lord; and the Holy Ghost Lord. And yet not three Lords; but one Lord. For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity; to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and Lord; So are we forbidden by the Catholic religion; to say, There are three Gods, or three Lords. The Father is made of none; neither created, nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone; not made, nor created; but begotten. The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten; but proceeding. So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is before, or after another; none is greater, or less than another. But the whole three Persons are coeternal, and coequal. So that in all things, as aforesaid; the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity, is to be worshipped. He therefore that will be saved, let him thus think of the Trinity."_* WLC himself doesn't think this is coherent, hence why he doesn't believe in it. That is why it matters that his views don't align with 99% of modern Christianity. Let's say WLC is correct and 99% of Christians are going to hell. Your response is simply, _"Who cares?"_ Well, you should be the one who cares. Let's say WLC concedes the debate and admits the Trinity is incoherent. How many comments do you think we'd see from Christians objecting that his view of the Trinity is wrong? Heretical? Fringe? Is the Muslim debater supposed to refute every iteration of a triune godhead? Where does it end? Is he burdened to show the incoherence of the Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva trimurti as well? What exactly could he have done in this debate that would cause you to admit he won? Or more importantly, cause you to question your beliefs?
He's saying if the doctrine of the trinity is that essential to salvation and is clearly inferred from the text of the new testament then you can't have only one person adhering to the correct doctrine that for thousands of years the church didn't get and that's a MASSIVE PROBLEM IN ADDITION TO THE LOGICAL INCOHERENCE OF THE TRINITY.

Former Muslim here. Only about 14 minutes in and gave up but will probably come back and finish watching this. The argument that Quran, Chapter 5, verse 116 addresses Catholic practices of Mary's veneration falls short because both Catholics and Eastern Orthodox Christians differentiate between veneration and worship. In both traditions, worship (latria) is reserved for God alone, while veneration (dulia) is given to saints, with a special veneration (hyperdulia) accorded to Mary. This distinction highlights that neither tradition includes Mary in the divine triad. Chapter 5, verse 73 says that Allah is not three, making it clear that the Quran’s emphasis was on denying the concept of the Trinity. This leaves the central issue unaddressed: why would the Quran focus on an erroneous representation of Christian belief, rather than accurately critiquing the Trinity, a core doctrine that was well established in the Universal Church, since at least 325 AD.
@@Fundamental_Islam. Doesn't make a difference? Of course it does. Whoever wrote your Quran clearly didn't even know what Christians believe so it can't be God's Word because God knew Christians don't worship Mary.

Mohammed thinks this is a contradiction, which shows how utterly weak he is intellectually. No Mohammed, the reason why they would never disagree is because since they are perfect in knowledge and perfect in reason, it is for Mohammed to explain why and how they COULD ever disagree?
All you have to do is pray 5 times a day and never question your Imam.
If you want to know WHY they dont like muslims reading their own Quran, all you have to do is read the Quran.... Its very obvious when you read it! Because its a horribly violent book, encouraging the worst things humanity has to offer. No one wants to be a muslim after reading it, unless they are a fan of owning $3x slaves or being a PDF file.
Theres also a ridiculous amount of continuity errors and contradictions.
Here are a couple verses you can look up, if you are curious about the violent parts
2: 191 (drive out the non believers, allowing disobedience is worse than murder)
4: 34 (its okay to beat your wifes, and not only is it okay, but you should strike them to PREVENT disobedience, not just as punishment)
23: 1-6 (You are allowed to R word your female slaves)
98: 6 (christians and jews are the worst of creatures)
Theres also parts that say you must implement apartheid against Christians and jews, making them "dhimmis", and then they must pay the "jizya tax" or be killed.
Muhhamad married a 6 year old.
Black slaves are half the price of non black slaves (this is Sahih Muslim 1602, not Quran, but my point still stands)

ADD version: Mo says that the trinity is false because William Lane Craig has views different from most Christians about the emanation of the son and the proceeding of the spirit.
Craig defends his views and then says, "this isn't 'really relevant to whether the trinity is logically incoherent or not." This is correct. WLC's views on emanation or proceeding don't really matter for whether the trinity is logically possible.

The scriptural “type” of incarnation is the objects in the Ark: the Ten Commandments, the manna and the staff of Aaron represented the mind, body and soul of Jesus in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
This shows the harmony between the Trinity (God), the Incarnation God’s Word) and human beings (God’s image).

Dr William Craig is brilliant
Bruh, Dr WLC seemed to believe, in mathematical equation, 1÷X=1, but X=3. I can't wrap my mind around this 😢
@@needmoarcheese , actually, that argument, while entertaining, does not refute the Trinity.
-
Remember: the Trinity is defined as three distinct, yet, co-equal hypostases within one divine essence. This argument makes a categorical error; this argument fails to distinguish between hypostases and essence.
Furthermore, there are several other issue to address here.
-
Firstly, he Trinity is metaphysical in nature, not mathematical. Math equations are inadequate tools to describe philosophical and theological assertions.
-
Second, there is a misapplication of the equation here; The equation "1 ÷ x = 1" implies that x must be 1 because division in mathematics requires that any number divided by itself is 1.
-
Just for clarification, the Trinity is not “1 divided by 3,” the Trinity is “one God in three persons” and the concept can, therefore, not be reduced to a mathematical formula like the one you described.
-
In conclusion, because the Trinity is three distinct, yet, co-equal hypostases in one divine essence, the Trinity is not in violation of the Law of Non-contradiction and is, therefore, not “illogical” or “irrational,” as you suggested in a separate comment.
--
Despite the Trinity being, difficult to wrap our heads around, the Trinity is not irrational nor illogical.

Brilliant in deceiving other to follow him to hell
I do applaud Dr. Craig for being able to maintain such composure an patience with Hijab. As for the talking points. I noticed Hijab was quick to dismiss the claim that the Quran was outlining that Allah, Isa, and Mary was the trinity.
[5:116] And when Allah said, "O ‘Isā, son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as two gods, other than Allah'?"
This is further supported by the Quran in earlier passages.
Oh, that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!”
While on the subject, we should take about Pentecost as The Holy Spirit came down upon the Apostles. They had tongues of fire rest on them and when the Apostles spoke, all could hear them in their own language.
But we can keep going with the OT
Genesis 6:3
Then the Lord God said, “My Spirit shall not remain with these people forever, for they are flesh. So their days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
Isaiah 44:3
For I will give water to the thirsty who walk in a waterless place. I will put My Spirit upon your seed and My blessings upon your children.
Isaiah 48:16
"Come ye near unto Me, hear ye this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord GOD has sent me, and His Spirit."
Joel 2:28
“After this it shall come to pass that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh;
God identifies "His Spirit" as himself (Gen 6:3 My Spirit).
When He told you explicitly, He has no son and He is not one of three (whether that be beings *_or persons)?_*
I doubt that would get you very far.
Mr. Hijab’s continuous attribution of human tendencies to God was the major miscommunication in this discussion. He therefore that will be saved, let him thus think of the Trinity."_*
WLC himself doesn't think this is coherent, hence why he doesn't believe in it.
Thanks u doctor William Craig for exposing the trinity
Mohammed Hijab won’t debate Sam Shamoun, Christian prince or GodLogic. Check them out if you want to learn about Islam and/or the trinity.
@@ceeez3072 I have checked them out and none of their “points” ever caused me to even recorder my arguments
@@ceeez3072 Why the hell would he debate Sam? When on paper this a far more praise worthy and credential qualified debate to have on your resume, both for Dr William and Mo hijab? Yes, no doubt Sam is knowledgeable you cant discredit him. However, if you were at a court case would you take a lawyer with a Masters in law along with several successful court hearings to his name, or a guy who just read the book of law inside and out and makes TH-cam videos that make sense to defend you at court?
The only thing we know that is known about Sam is that his wife left him because he had an average sized penis, he also talked about how his now ex wife would tell him how her intercourse is so much better now and what her new Mans penis size is which he also disclosed to the people.
@@abszm8736like your shiekh uthaman who was a drug dealer and did adultery with his Friends wife plus faked his own stabbing when nothing like that happened
@@abszm8736 so mohamed hijab is only after accolades and doesn’t care about people’s souls. Watch Sam and Godlogic and Christian Prince cook. The work speaks for itself.
Doesn’t make a difference. Main argument is don’t take anyone or anything created by Allah beside Allah as your God
@@Fundamental_Islam.Lol are you that dumb? He just told you that the Christians despite the veneration of Mary don’t take her as god.
@@Fundamental_Islam. Doesn't make a difference? Of course it does. Whoever wrote your Quran clearly didn't even know what Christians believe so it can't be God's Word because God knew Christians don't worship Mary.
Simply cuz worship in Islamic sense doesn't necessarily means that the doer intends it to be worship....
Eg
Once while Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was reciting this Verse, 'Adi bin Hatim said, "O Allah's Messenger! They do not worship them (i.e. the rabbis and monks)." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "They certainly do. [They (i.e. the rabbis and monks) made lawful things as unlawful and unlawful things as lawful, and they (i.e. Jews and Christians) followed them; and by doing so, they really worshipped them]."
(Narrated by Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Jarir)
@@owaissheraz You ignored the point, the point is why couldn't the quran at least acknowledge the difference if it wants to be taken seriously?
Basically Willian pointed out his heretic view on trinity. Then Hijab expose that he is indeed a heretic
