My only problem with converters in general is if it doesn't have connectivity to the computer with one cable it is useless to the mass market most mid range studios won't
touch a converter unless it is supplied with some form of computer
connectivity IE: Thunderbolt, USB, ECT. because the cost for more hardware is never in the budget but if it did have these engineers would be more than willing to spend the extra cash for a 32x32 input converter just to have the i/o whenever they needed it. But on that note Ethernet seems to be the connection of the future. But DAD is not a cool rock and roll name for a converter

Hi Joe. It does have connectivity to the computer via the HDX ports or via Dante if installed. It's not really appropriate to compare it to USB/TB interfaces, that's not really what its aiming for and there are plenty of quality choices in that sector of the market. I think an IO device made by DAD could be called a "DADIO" That's pretty rock and roll in a 50s sort of way daddio ;)

Hey Julian you guys do a wonderful job and the DADio would be better for sure. I think that the option for connectivity for other DAW users would be great since not everyone uses Pro Tools as there only DAW. There is a massive amount of guys who come to this channel because of all the great information and reviews that are not even PT users. Like I said in my comment above Ethernet seems to be the connection of the future but because there is so little information out there about Dante and other Ethernet protocols that would be a great connection for you to show how it all works this might help people to understand how it's no different than USB or thunderbolt ect. What I meant by my remarks was that alot of converters just don't have any kind of computer connectivity and for those converter they are useless to the majority of studio owners and they see no reason to even consider them as an option this lowers the user base for those companies. Most engineers want to just plug it up and it work. But I'm excited to see part 2 and more importantly how it sounds!! Great work Julian and have a great day!

Excellent observation. Upcoming DAD AX Center Thundercore has TB interface. But there's no excuse anymore for pro interfaces not supporting USB/TB. Especially new TB5 at 80gpbs.

I don't want a piece of equipment that says "DAD" on it. They need to change their logo to "DA Denmark". :)

Lol. I think DAD is a completely random name for a company that specializes in high end audio equipment, I also think it would be a great talking point in the studio!
