I have studied in Canada/USA/UK and grade inflation exists in all of these countries. It seems like a common phenomenon where "First honours degree" (or equivalent e.g. Dean's list in north america) is no longer used as the sole standard to distinguish students. Instead, there is an intense competition of having a resume with crazy achievements (e.g. first honours, MBA, different certificates, extra-curriculars, published papers, etc) just to land a job that a bachelor's would qualify for 10 years ago.
My son is in his 2nd year at uni. I believed one of the reasons kids are doing better nowadays are they are using a lot of group chats. They setup group chats for every module, they discussed and debate their work which means they’re not always working alone but as a group. Recently my son told me they were given a piece of work which wasn’t too difficult, the first thing the professor said was “ please try not to get 100%”

Would someone pls help me understand what is first class degree? So does it mean there is a second class degree? That may appear a little discriminatory……

資訊時代。 個個學生都識用google 。 叻個教授已經唔係太困難。
科技上新一代的學生一定會比舊一代的更好，但這並不代表他們學術上比上一代學生好，因為寫論文唔係簡單地Google可以寫出來😅
