Foxworth,youve been now kicked out of the ex Bronco club of love. No-in all seriousness-the Heat scare the hell out of me-not many teams have the resilience,& resolve that they do. I work at Ball arena,& all the people who work with me-who are casual fans or dont even really care-think its totally over,& cant wait for us to get several days off after today,cuz our work season basically ends if there are no more hockey,or nba games-watchparties or home games. Then sometime in July,we start to have more concerts,& stuff-but basically we go part time til next fall. But those of us who are fanatical fans-who happen to work there-like me...are scared to death. I will say there are basically no basketball reasons why it should last past tonight. We have never seen MPJ shoot this bad for 4 games in a row. We won the last game by double digits,despite Jamal not shooting well,& Jokic in foul trouble. And if you look at game 2-Miami shot the hell out of the ball...Nugs seriously played like C or C- game at best...but we still had a 3 in the air at the buzzer to force OT. This series is far closer to being over,than 2-2 even. Even with that loss-Nugs are something like 43-5 at Ball arena-when Jokic plays this season. For you to win-you not only gotta win 3 straight-but also wouldve won 3 straight in Denver. But those of us who follow basketball closely-none of that matters-all im worrying about is all the Heat experience,& all the intangables. I never count out the Heat,& especially Jimmy Butler. But this Miami team still scares the hell out of me,& those who really know what this team is made of. And I work right by where the visiting team departs from their bus...I just know when I see Jimmy Butlers "game face"-getting off the bus-its gonna make me feel much worse & much less comfortable-lol. Its not over at all-but it SHOULD be tonight. But ive watched sports long enough to know its never over til it is,& finishing the last step in a championship journey is usually the toughest. And though we are thrilled its at home,& Nuggets are basically unbeatable at Ball-as long as they show up respecting the opponent,& ready for a war...& to put in work...not ready for a party. Sometimes in these situations-the home crowd,& hearing how great you are for 3 days-can lull you to sleep-especially if youve never done this before. But with a "youngish" team who has never done it-or been quite in an atmosphere like we will see tonight-full of anticipation-ya just never know. If we were just going on the last 10 years then to me Raptors are the most impressive team in the East. Seeing how they have the 2nd best record in the NBA over the last decade which is even more impressive considering that includes the COVID season where they had to play in Tampa and had one of the worst records in the NBA that season. Also due to being in Toronto it means they can never sign any FA. I mean in the last 10 years I can't even tell you who their best FA signing was maybe Thad Young or CJ Miles. Meaning they have to build a team through just the draft and trades. Heat at least play in Miami and can attract players with that alone like Lebron and Bosh. To be fair though the Heat are basically the same as the Raptors over the last 10 years at least. As they have built through the draft like with Bam and Herro and by trades like with Butler. They haven't really signed any big time FA in the last 10 years to help build their team.
Jimmy can’t elevate over the defense with the ankle. Thus his over reliance on his below the rim game. If he gets 6-10 inches less lift on layups that’s the difference between shooting over the top and getting your shot blocked.
