I watched the 1979 version when I was in elementary school, so I understand what you are saying. The power of the original manga work is obvious, but the direction by Tadao Nagahama and Osamu Dezaki, two great directors who have made Japanese animation history, was truly amazing. And Reiko Tajima, a lovely actress I used to see in TV dramas when I was a child, brought Oscar to life with her wonderful performance. It is still one of the BEST animation in my mind.
I am concerned that this epic story can be successfully summarized as a two-hour film. However, I have high expectations for the scriptwriter, Tomoko Komparu, who is a veteran scriptwriter with many excellent achievements as an arranger of the original manga.
CARA SIGNORA,CON QUESTO TRAILER HAI RISVEGLIATO TANTI RICORDI DELLE NOSTRE INFANZIE E DI BEI TEMPI DI UNA VOLTA. IO HO VISTO TUTTO SU LADY OSCAR COME SI CHIAMAVA QUI IN ITALIA. RIGUARDO CON TANTO PIACERE E TI SEGUIRÒ COME SEMPRE. UN SALUTO AFFETTUOSO 🙆♀️🌺🤗👍❤🇮🇹
Great review. I totally agree with you. It's a shame that the 2007 Toei movie didn't see the light of day. From the brief trailer available on TH-cam it did have the right tone of drama appropriate for RoV. My hope is that this film does have Mrs. Ikeda's approval. It is important that new RoV stuff be made now, during Mrs Ikeda's lifetime, because she loves her own creation and would never betray its core. Can you imagine Lady Oscar in the hands of unscrupulous heirs who sell it (for example) to Shondaland (Bridgerton). André would be black.
Ahahahahahah I understand what you say! I'm afraid they can't represent what this great story is even now. We all remember this, especially because of the intense moments.
