Pentatonix are just SO magnificent! Their video “Hallelujah” rendition just blasts it out of the Universe! It will bring you to such highs and lows of emption and amazement at the beauty you are hearing and watching ! It almost tears your heart out with emotion and joy! Breathtaking!!!❤
I will always be in the mood to hear someone show their appreciation to this group! Thank you for taking the time to do this! I would watch you break down every single one of their songs. First time reactions are special, but an educated breakdown of appreciated music is not too bad either! Thank you, again!
What I found so great about this performance is that the group itself only had just days to put this together for the show. Kevin and Avi were basically new to the group and were trying to figure out how to work with one another. They had a few issues, but what they did was so unique and different from the other groups that they stuck out way more. You kind of knew they were way ahead of the other groups. I mean, how many a cappella groups out there right now have 3 Grammy awards, world wide acclaim, and worked with other music superstars? Just one...Pentatonix!
I've always thought that all five (six) must have swallowed metronomes as babies for them each to have such perfect timing. It never sounds like someone is early or late, even in very impromptu live performances. Having done some choir and small group singing, I can truly appreciate their perfection.
I watched this when it first came out, the whole season actually, and now I look at the development that they have achieved vocally and professionally. They started the whole IMO the whole minimalist Acapella entertainment genre. They proved that Acapella could go mainstream....fun to watch. Great reaction.
It’s so fun watching you listening to music. Your expressions really tell an interesting story about where you seem to be throughout a song. It’s so obvious to me how important music is to you. I really wish I could hear you sing. I’m sure I would enjoy it immensely.
You seem to be a Pentatonix fan but this is the only video I found of yours on them. I would love to see your reaction on their other songs. They always do a fantastic job!
I love your giddy reaction to PTX! Also, I'm so glad you've been a long-time fan. I love this performance as well, and I think they just got better and better as they went. I look forward to any other PTX videos you might react to. I only watch PTX reactors. I just subbed. Thank you!
This is great-thanks! I was a fan of TSO since season 2 (I actually preferred Street Corner Symphony over the winners Committed, who had gorgeous harmonies but I liked SCS’s stage presence). When season 3 started, nobody stood out for me until this performance. This literally had me sitting up on the couch and saying, “What was THAT?!” I had never heard anything like that before. If you watch the Afterbuzz TV post-ep recaps for the season, I am pretty sure it’s this ep or maybe the next that has one of the show’s hosts saying, “I’m watching Pentatonix, and I’m feeling my cheeks, and I’m…smiling!! And I can’t stop grinning the entire time they’re singing!” That pretty much summed up my reaction, too. Oh, and a little tidbit not many people know-the costume designer for this season was Kara Saun, known from season 1 of Project Runway.
Thanks for the reaction. At first, I was wondering why the heck you were starting with the 4th performance, so I’m glad you explained. I hope you do more PTX reactions. Also, I hope you react to Superfruit (Scott and Mitch) also. And also Kevin, Kirsten, and Mitch’s solo work.
FYI. HUGE NEWS! Huge! It was announced on Saturday, June 18, 2022, that PENTATONIX will be receiving a STAR on the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME! I love the other groups in what’s affectionately called the trifecta of acapella music…Home Free, Voice Play and Pentatonix…but I have a special place in my heart for PTX. BILLBOARD Music said: “Pentatonix has succeeded in doing what no other acapella group has ever done: they brought acapella music into the mainstream.” The first acapella group to win Grammys, hundreds of millions of views on TH-cam, sold-out shows…watching this shows the sheer promise they showed back in 2011. Who would’ve thought back then they’d be THIS much of a ground-breaking group? So so so happy for them!!!
It doesn't matter that it's not your first time watching a PTX video as long as you're honest about it. I'm a major Pentaholic and loved your reaction and really, really wished you would analyze more of their stuff. They are now putting out more original material that you could also do first time reactions to if you feel the need. Please bring on some of the songs with a message that Kirstie wrote like Be My Eyes and Love Me When I Don't.
I totaly agree. This performance blew my mind. Ive loved acapella all my 52 years and had never heard anything like that. I loved hearing the judges responses too.
I was scrolling through your videos looking for a reaction video to Sammy Hagar (I did not find any) and I was thinking, "have you ever done a reaction video to an a Cappello group such as Pentatonix and would your brain explode?" I know mine would. And then, low and behold, there was a reaction video to Pentatonix. I'm thankful your brain did not explode. Love the videos and your enthusiasm. It's really fun to see your first times listening to classic rock. Triumph and April Wine were big when I was in high school as well as Rush and Van Halen, my two most favorite groups of all time. Sammy Hagar is my favorite individual artist of all time.
Yes, I had this as my favorite group on the show, and then this!! They so gonna win after that! I skipped many years till they showed up again, but now I am a Pentaholic. That means I came here with an attitude. Yeah, another reactor just doing the highlights. So glad to see you are a Pentaholic too. 😁😁😎
Love your passion. A bit of trivia...This song was the first music video ever aired on MTV, and the rest as they say is history. Much love and keep on keepin on J.
Thanks for the reaction. I agree with you, . I watched sing-off from day one. Pentatonix caught my ,,ear from the get go. I loved how they impressed the judges ,, even left them speechless.
I second everything everybody else said about how amazing it is that they put this together so quickly, and also, how darned young they are. Liked your story about watching them as high school kids.
I enjoyed all of the Pentatonix sing off performances but for me the one that really stood out as where they took the clear lead was their performance of Born to be Wild
Love hearing your reactions. Do you have an amazing ability to convey your message. It’s such a shame that the sing off was canceled. From my perspective, it was the most impactful singing show on television. Keep in mind that not only did that show give us Pentatonix, but it also gave us home free
The thing that kills me is that they only had a week to arrange, choreograph, and practice their songs. If I remember correctly, they only had two days for this one because they were originally going to do a Cher song and it just didn't gel right.
I'm strange. This was actually my favourite of their Sing Off performances, although there were two or three others that were also great. I just find this song more to my taste. Enjoyed your reaction and please do more Pentatonix songs - especially their originals for your view of the complete packages.
I agree. To me, this was the performance where they found “their groove”. They had only been together as a fivesome for maybe a month now and they figured out how to integrate everyone into the performance and it all came together here. The rest of the way their performances just keep getting better and better. The best performances from here are #7, #10 and #12. Great reaction!
If you really want to get a laugh go find the Superfruit video where they go back and look at these performances. That is a lot of fun they cringe so hard on the costumes & choreography in particular.
Absolutely LOVED this show! Blew the lid off of so many fantastic groups! Pentatonix... Home Free... Voice Play (right?)... Was Voctave on one of the seasons too?!
If you like acapella singing, you really really need to check out VoicePlay. It's very difficult to recommend one specific song of theirs, because they are so incredibly versatile; do I recommend This Is Halloween, with all the incredible character voices? Hoist the Colours, for the way it shows off everyone (incredible tenors, amazing bass, fantastic vocal percussion) in the best possible light? Queen in Five Minutes, for the way they weave together a series of songs to tell a new story? If I Were a Rich Man/Girl, for the incredible runs and the way it showcases both traditional and modern (even dubstep-influenced) singing styles? You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch, because it's an order of magnitude better than the Pentatonix cover of the same song? Little Mermaid, for the way it makes you feel like you just watched the whole movie? Oogie Boogie Song, because it makes you feel like Tim Burton should've hired them? We Don't Talk About Bruno, for the way it keeps finding new ways to make you laugh? Phantom of the Opera, for the fact that it takes a song that's already incredibly theatrical and epic, and doubles down on both qualities? Boy Bands in Five Minutes, because however many boy bands you can think of, it'll remind you of several more you didn't think of? Mission: Jingle Bells, because it's a mash-up that shouldn't even be possible, and yet by some dark miracle they actually made it work incredibly well? Friends on the Other Side, for the superb acting and visual effects? Grim Grinning Ghosts? Dream On? Carry On Wayward Son? The Dragonborn Comes? How can I choose? They're all so good.
I'm laughing about Bethany's comment about "back then". I wonder what she'd think of the garage bands of the 60s and 70s with our Marshall tube amplifiers and el cheapo microphones from Radio Shack. This old guy loves Pentatonix. Kirstin Maldonado blows me away with her vocals.
I'm right with you. This was the one that really made me start thinking they were really special. My favorite is Florence and the Machine, but this one lives on in my mind.
You obviously like this sort of music and they were great! Another band who sing in the same style you should listen to is VoicePlay, a great one to listen to is the Boogie man song - I guarantee you will be mega impressed!
Amazing reaction my friend Bethany....I was the person who recommend you to react to Dimash, the best male singer of the world...But now I ask you: Have you seen the best female singer of the world?...The passion and dedication when Dimash is performing a song can only be compared with the person who has influenced him to sing leaving everything on stage: His idol, the queen, the incomparable Lara Fabian...Lara is the best female singer and performer of the world...She is a lyric soprano with a amazing vocal range and incredible breath control, which is one of the things that Dimash admires the most about Lara...She speaks 5 languages and sings like in 12 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see on TH-cam covers of her songs made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Forestella, Sissel Kyrkjebo, Floor Jansen, Diana Navarro, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Lara...Here you have the link of her amazing performance of the song “Je Suis Malade”....th-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/w-d-xo.html
There was an interesting British pop group called STEPS, I’m curious as to you opinion of their abilities….. can you tell if they are actually singing or are is it a track playing?
I've been a fan of this song since it was released in 1979. I've heard many versions of it since TH-cam became a thing and this is by far the most unique one - so enjoyable. I suggest checking out the Buggles' life performance from 2004 (the backup singers, particularly Linda Allan (Jardim), is really amazing here). th-cam.com/video/IUgF49Rtg7Q/w-d-xo.html
Full apologies. 7:27 is different. but once you've heard the OG, at the 2004 Prince's Trust, go in to two minutes and twenty seconds of that for the absolute finest it can be. night and day.
I am a Pentatonix fan. I liked your video but you never mentioned they were an a Capella group until about 9 minutes into the video. It would have helped people who have never heard of Pentatonix. Also, you maybe could have explained what the Sing Off was. It was a competition show for a Capella groups.
I watched this show live also. But I’m sad it took you until this performance to realize that they would win. I picked them to win with their first performance with ET.
I am right there with you! I've been following Pentatonix and Home Free since The Sing Off. My question is, do you have the same for Home Free? Was there a moment on the show that you Knew they were gonna win. Just really curious. I think Ring of Fire might have been it for me even though all of their performances were Fabulous!! Maybe Pretty Woman but idk. 😁👍❤️❤️❤️
Scott looks like a baby. Sara Bareilles was a judge and so was the good musician/songwriter, and very egotistical Ben Folds. I remember Sara because she grew up where I live. Ben I remember because he was, well, a condescending little prig. Which was too bad because I liked his music. Or maybe I didn't like him because I'm like him. Either way it's not a good look. I have a young singer from Kazakhstan that Dimash calls a National Treasure. Daneliya Tuleshova has been amazing people since she was 7-8. One of her music teachers heard a voice coming from a practice room, with some other young singers, when she peeked in to determine who the possessor of that voice was. To her surprise that adult sounding voice was coming from the tiniest little girl. Teacher found out her name and remembered she had told Daneliya's parent that they needn't waste their time and money for a private coach. Teacher went straight to her office found entry forms to the annual nation wide singing competition. She said nothing to the family until her entry form was one of the last to be accepted. Teacher then called in the parents to conference with them. Teacher and parents were on board and it was decided that they were just going to get their feet wet and to see where Daneliya stood with all the good singers in Kazakhstan. Well legends grow out of situations like this so of course she won the whole competition. One of the judges said, 'How do the others hope to compete with her when she sings as an adult. She has had her forehead 'kissed by God'.' The song I'm giving you is her latest a mashup of Adele's 'Skyfall' and Britney's song, 'Toxic'. Here is the link. th-cam.com/video/K-oYOVTJ-B4/w-d-xo.html React or listen you won't be disappointed. Thank you.
Honestly you could've said " I'm so and so, and I'm reacting to this. Let's go" it sounds like when you look up a recipe and they give you 30 mins of literature of their childhood...like...get to the point already and do a breakdown.. =/ I mean hell...it starts at 3:43
Hiii! New subscriber here 😌 PLEASES react to daneliya touleshova - Daneliya is 15, She won the voice kids Ukraine at 9/10 years old, then Last year, at 14 she was on America's got talent! So her AGT audition would be amazing to react to! Along with and rest of that shows performances. In 2018, she competed in the show "THE WORLDS BEST" along side dimash!! check it out! As for dimash, he actually left the show and rumour has it he left because he wanted to give her a chance and didn't know when entering the show there would he children. Anyway, first!! When she was only TEN years old Go check her out on voice kids, Ukraine singing Demi's "stone cold" - her audition and Andrea days 'rise up'. You will soon see what your in for haha. Then move to her Americas got talent performances, She puts amazing covers and originals on her TH-cam channel - a few of my favourite covers by her - Tears of gold, love on the brain, arcade, Moana (khazak style) & not about angles by birdy. This girl is just mind blowing! I look forward to your reactions!
Hi, your making cool stuff, so let me introduce to you some awesome artist Gene shinozaki - metamorphosis D-low - winning compilation Polina gagarina - kukushka 2019 in china Robin | runner up compilation| sbx kbb 2021 They are pushing the limits 😌 Good luck
I don't get it. Maybe it's the arrangement. I recently listened again to Hallelujah, which is astounding, and I love their Daft Punk medley, which this reminds me of in a way. This one just didn't come together for me. I'm hearing some pitch issues and some very unsatisfying chord voicings. Also, the blend is just not there. Sorry, Bethany. For blend, I'll point you to The Buffalo Bills singing Sincere in the movie version of The Music Man; for chord voicings, Oogie Boogie's Song as performed by Voiceplay, or Voctave's Disney Princess Medley. For a flat-out jaw-dropping early performance, I'll again suggest Angelina Jordan's black & white video of I Put A Spell On You.
I think it’s necessary to bear in mind that this was their 3rd ever public performance and they had two days to rehearse it. Hallelujah, Daft Punk medley and all the others started from here. Even by the end of this competition they had noticeably improved and when they returned to the Sing Off a year later for the season 4 finale, the difference was astonishing. They were learning as they went and there was no one like them to learn from.
I agree! There is joy in the different kind of reactions and place for all of it!
What I found so great about this performance is that the group itself only had just days to put this together for the show. 10+ years later....better than EVER!!
All of us Pentaholics will happily pretend we have never, ever seen this performance before :) Thanks for sharing with all of us randos on the 'net!
Same! This WAS their best on the show and wowed me with their creativity!!!
I love your giddy reaction to PTX! Also, I'm so glad you've been a long-time fan. I love this performance as well, and I think they just got better and better as they went. I look forward to any other PTX videos you might react to. I only watch PTX reactors. I just subbed. Thank you!
Thanks for the reaction. More Pentatonix please!
MORE PENTATONIX!!! the 7th performance is FIRE as well as 10 and 12!!
PLEASE react to those🙏🙏
This is great-thanks! I was a fan of TSO since season 2 (I actually preferred Street Corner Symphony over the winners Committed, who had gorgeous harmonies but I liked SCS’s stage presence). I loved this reaction! I hope you do more by them because educated AND giddy is my favourite combo in a pentatonix reactors!
You’re clearly such a FAN of Pentatonix!
I absolutely LOVE the connection you have with them!!
I totaly agree. This performance blew my mind. Ive loved acapella all my 52 years and had never heard anything like that. I loved hearing the judges responses too.

Thanks for the reaction. I agree with you, . I watched sing-off from day one.
Pentatonix caught my ,,ear from the get go. I loved how they impressed the judges ,, even left them speechless.
Liked and subscribed. Love your enthusiasm. Plus, you're a long time (original member?) Pentaholic. Kudos.
My favorite of them is the Daft Punk Medley (worth the grammy award they graped with it)
they were amazing but I think when they did Marvin Gaye's Lets Get It On was the perfomance that they realized they became themselves
That suspension in the pause they did just knocked the air out of me the first time I saw it! Masterful!
I wish the sing off was back on TV. To hear people so talented with no auto tuning, no post editing, just raw talent, made the show so dang enjoyable.
Love hearing your reactions. Do you have an amazing ability to convey your message.
It’s such a shame that the sing off was canceled. From my perspective, it was the most impactful singing show on television. Keep in mind that not only did that show give us Pentatonix, but it also gave us home free

Wow you really know them from waaaaay back, wow :0
Love how you set up the reaction, very interesting, loved it!
If you really want to get a laugh go find the Superfruit video where they go back and look at these performances. That is a lot of fun they cringe so hard on the costumes & choreography in particular.
Yeeeees!
Loved your comments and I totally agree that this was the song that sealed the deal for PTX.
I'd suggest their original, "Happy Now"
That was pretty good. Thank you for sharing that, love your channel.👍💕..
Recommend their Amazing Grace.
I really can’t believe you only have one Pentatonix song and from the contest.
Absolutely LOVED this show! Blew the lid off of so many fantastic groups! Pentatonix... Home Free... Voice Play (right?)... Was Voctave on one of the seasons too?!

I'm right with you. This was the one that really made me start thinking they were really special. My favorite is Florence and the Machine, but this one lives on in my mind.
Um your right, my favorite songs from this group is Hallelujah and little drummer boy
great reaction !!

There was an interesting British pop group called STEPS, I’m curious as to you opinion of their abilities….. can you tell if they are actually singing or are is it a track playing?
SOOooo GOOOD !
They do use silence and space better than anyone. I also think they utilize volume changes to devastating emotional effect.

8th born to be wild and 10th dog days also must see
Full apologies.

Honestly you could've said " I'm so and so, and I'm reacting to this. Let's go" it sounds like when you look up a recipe and they give you 30 mins of literature of their childhood...like...get to the point already and do a breakdown.. =/ I mean hell...it starts at 3:43
Hiii! New subscriber here 😌
PLEASES react to daneliya touleshova -
Daneliya is 15,
She won the voice kids Ukraine at 9/10 years old, then
Last year, at 14 she was on America's got talent!
When she was only TEN years old
Go check her out on voice kids, Ukraine singing Demi's "stone cold" - her audition and Andrea days 'rise up'.
You will soon see what your in for haha.
Then move to her Americas got talent performances,
She puts amazing covers and originals on her TH-cam channel -
a few of my favourite covers by her -
Tears of gold, love on the brain, arcade, Moana (khazak style) & not about angles by birdy. This girl is just mind blowing! I look forward to your reactions!

Freddie Mercury montserrat caballe Barcelona me dalin ❤😊
