Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great festive season. May we all have a great 2018. Equiping my kitchen in Nigeria is my first project for 2018 and you all are coming on this journey with me by fire and by force. 😂😂💃 I’ll share what I put in the kitchen and why I need them. I’ll share how I choose one equipment over the other. Let’s go!
How come, i'm just seeing this. Flo, your kitchen is so spacious and will surely be so beautiful with all these gadgets. Packing my bags to come and visit.
I like Samsung appliances. I've had a two door Samsung fridge/freezer with inbuilt ice maker for the past 6 years and never had a problem with it. It has an inbuilt digital inverter. It's black with mirrored doors.
Madam, concerning the cookers, if they weren’t moving/selling/being purchased, the company wouldn’t bother to restock. Besides, the light (power situation) in Nigeria isn’t that bad contrary to what you have heard. The electric burners will be a nice replacement (to conserve energy - gas) for you when there’s power. Welcome to Nigeria!
Prim Amabilis yes the problem is that we buy them. If we let them rot in their shops they wouldn't bring them in. I only bought that cooker because of the dual heating oven. The other one was too expensive for our budget. This is not based on hearsay. I spend a lot of time in Naija and the electricity situation in my area is bad.
Whatever you do please don’t buy anything no frost. This Nigeria with our power situation you need all the frost you can get. That’s what will keep your food cool when NEPA misbehaves for days
please since we don't have 24hr light as you rightly said why then did you put water heater in the kitchen or does this small one also have a reservoir
Wow! Congratulations sis. This kitchen isn't small oooo😄. I love that fridge with seperate door for freezer. That 6 cooker surface is lovely, you will use the 2 electric surface when there is light, and switch to gas whenever NEPA messes up. 👌
Not yet o. Awww ... Naija is fun only when I spend a short time here. I'll be itching to go to Naija but once here, I just can't deal with the lack of electricity. It gets to me every single time! I can't stand it. It kills creativity.
Fantastic Favour lol he was pushing the "ha ga aspoil ya" card so I won't choose it not knowing that the babe's explanations had already put me off that dispenser ambition because it is just too much of a hassle. 😂
Yayyyyyyy!!!! I am here for these videos of kitchen renovation . Let me guess you are moving to Lagos , even though something in me will love to hear you are moving to Abuja|| if you need anyone to install your invert or solar system for you at a reliable and affordable price let me know ❤️
Nice... I'm in spain with my parents . But I go to nigeria often. I always tell my mom to buy the appliances in nigeria. . She's always buying them here and ship them to nigeria.. cuz she's fears if it's going to last.
Auntie Flo I love your kitchen! One thing that i have to comment on though is the part of the vid when you were looking at stoves and complaining about LG and the NEPA situation in 9ja, I have to respectfully disagree. It isn't LG's job to adapt to Nigeria's lack of ability to provide something as common as electricity for its citizens. Let us place the blame rightfully to whom it belongs to - our country Nigeria. Things need to change and sadly Nigerians are so comfortable with the status-quo smh.
stunin2 while we wait on our government that has not improved on the electricity situation since 1960, these companies should send us stuff that works here. It's the same reasoning why no company should import snowboots into Nigeria. The problem is that we still buy them because if we leave those to rot in their shops, they will be forced to import the right things. God knows it's only because of the dual heating oven that I bought that cooker. It's technically a 4 burner cooker.
Brands are supposed to cater for the market that they have. Yes, Nigeria has problems to solve. But every brand(electronical or not) has to recognize audiences. The Nivea formula you have here won’t be the same with the ones elsewhere because the continent of Africa is much hotter. Same way every window in your house has nets. But people elsewhere might not bother with that. . Selah.
Watching this in 2021, had to come and comment when you were talking about Palm oil stains getting on your door. Was so funny! Really enjoyed the video. Wish you did another video of your whole house, I personally have been scouting the internet lately for my home designs for months now. I love your work. Keep it up!
busola . It's actually both. I have got that in my refrigerator and mine has a Temperature regulator, if for example ur freezer is full u use that by reducing the temperature and vice versa. Greetings from Germany
Thank You So Much for taking us on this journey, i enjoyed every bit of it. I must commend Your prudence and decision making skills when it came to selecting Your appliances. some people will get carried away with 'big names' but not looking at it on a long term. as for that fridge, it will really be alot of work keeping it clean. Thank You again :)
Please, my question is: does the oven in the gas cooker also uses gas as well. I know four out of the six burners use gas while the other two use electricity. I was wondering if the oven use gas or electricity. I am looking to buy one for my sister. I will really appreciate your answer.
Omotayo Gbadamosi if it’s the grounded one just put most of it in the freezer and a little in the veg tray in the fridge. Don’t worry, it doesn’t freeze. I just keep some in the fridge for easy access. That way u don’t go to the freezer every time you need egusi. I do this for my ogbono, brown beans(bcos of weevils) and dry fish also.
Hello flo, pls where did you get that plate rack that fits your cabinet? Did you have to make measurements? Where did u also buy your cabinets? Naija or outside? Thanks
I bought the rack from Spain. I bought it first then the carpenter made that part of the cupboard same width. The cupboards are custom made. I did the measurements including that of the marbles myself and with lots of supervision, the carpenter was able to give me what I wanted.
I don’t understand why the sales girl’s response to your question of what’s the difference between 2 items was “it’s the latest model.” That didn’t answer the question, need info on what’s new and updated. So you have to arrange delivery? Hmm thanks for this video because it prepares me for when my family and I have to do same for our house there
I agree. You may as well just chill the bottled water in the fridge then grab and go. That was a poor design, obviously not thought through. If the compartment was to freeze the water and dispense ice cubes I could see but it makes no sense as a water dispenser.
Happy New year, happy to see you again, i missed your vlogs, hope you and your family enjoyed the festives, can't wait to see you cook in your beautiful kitchen 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Lol, she really wanted to make that water dispenser fridge sale!! You were right, cleaning it will be a hassel. plus i didnt see where you can connect the hose for the water to dispense.
Happy New Year ANR☺ and Well done with your Home project. You know what I've been wondering what is the situation re;Solar Energy/panels in Naija? Hope it begins 2 take off as it makes more sense than NEPA abi? electricity on demand and full use of yr cooker😁
dilly obi happy New year Dilly. A friend uses solar panels in his office and he tells me that it is still very expensive and they still use electricity because the solar one is not sufficient.
And there is the problem we need to solve in Naija (affordable Solar Energy Deployment-. The sooner the better too) - fingers crossed. Meanwhile followng your Home Project with interest - Jisiaike o :)
Dual heating means it has an element for heating at the top and the bottom of the oven. It helps cos it means your oven gets heated from the top and bottom making you food cook more evenly. Hope this helps

How come, i'm just seeing this. Flo, your kitchen is so spacious and will surely be so beautiful with all these gadgets. Packing my bags to come and visit.

AREGHAN ADESUA exactly, in Naija that will only be a glorified cupboard.
I thought it was only kenya that had power issues, hhhmm!!!
Aunty Flo! you are such a beautiful woman. You are an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing bits of your life.
Just watched now and it still looks fresh and inspiring.. thank you a lot

Loved this video for the appliance options available in Nigeria. Would be interesting to see what other appliances are available now
please why did you put the washing machine in the kitchen and not in the bathroom
Wow! Congratulations sis. This kitchen isn't small oooo😄. I love that fridge with seperate door for freezer. That 6 cooker surface is lovely, you will use the 2 electric surface when there is light, and switch to gas whenever NEPA messes up. 👌
LuvMattaz TV yes that's the way to go about it when we see the light. 😂
@@FloChinyere xxxxxxx
This idea must have been divine. Thank you.
Have you relocated? Wow awesome. I wish l can relocate . I don't like living abroad. I can't wait to see your finished kitchen.
Not yet o. Awww ... Naija is fun only when I spend a short time here. I'll be itching to go to Naija but once here, I just can't deal with the lack of electricity. It gets to me every single time! I can't stand it. It kills creativity.
Ah i've missed you!!! Now I'm back and settled time to binge watch your videos!!!
I only wish, all Nigerians get to live like this one day.
Which one is dual heating kwa ma?
Congratulations! Your kitchen is not small o 😅😅 Functionality and ease of use/cleaning is number 1 on the list for me when shopping for appliances.
colorfunch yes as the cleaning up happens, I'm beginning to see that it is not that small. Ahhh same here, I love less work too. 😂
Congrats on the building of your home. I'm looking forward to recipes from your lovely kitchen.
Nice kitchen decoration ma.. please what do you mean when you say that the cooker is not dual heating?
I love your vlogs, I always learn alot after each vlog...Thank you
So far, Nigeria living seems so promising. With the exception of NEPA and also having SPAR and Konga shipping with Cash on Delivery.
LOL Thomas let me just leave it at that LOL. And Konga no longer does cash on delivery.
Ahhahahahaahaaaaahaha... That argument tho! From 10:27... "ndi ole g'aspoil ya? Umu gi! As if na ha abughi umu nke ya!😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic Favour lol he was pushing the "ha ga aspoil ya" card so I won't choose it not knowing that the babe's explanations had already put me off that dispenser ambition because it is just too much of a hassle. 😂
My oven here in Germany has one knob for everything and it's dual heating.
Where did you buy the vent or extractor from?
Congratulations aunty flo. I can't wait to see the finished look
Yayyyyyyy!!!! I am here for these videos of kitchen renovation . Let me guess you are moving to Lagos , even though something in me will love to hear you are moving to Abuja|| if you need anyone to install your invert or solar system for you at a reliable and affordable price let me know ❤️
God bless you when you talked about the electric burners. It's a waste
Thanks for the video.
Pls, what freezer can you recommend for me to buy in my kitchen?
I need small one but mighty😝

You'll be marveled at the prices of those appliances, today, 700-800k for freezer
That didn’t look a bit like a freezer. More like a vegetable crisper
busola . It's actually both. I have got that in my refrigerator and mine has a Temperature regulator, if for example ur freezer is full u use that by reducing the temperature and vice versa.

It's lovely, can you tell me the series or the number to that LG cooker, thanks.
Important items for a modern kitchen are smoke extractor, clock and air conditioner.

It's a gas oven.
I will come back to this video one good day by God' grace..aunty one question, how do you store your grinded egusi in the abroad?
Omotayo Gbadamosi if it’s the grounded one just put most of it in the freezer and a little in the veg tray in the fridge. Don’t worry, it doesn’t freeze. I just keep some in the fridge for easy access. That way u don’t go to the freezer every time you need egusi. I do this for my ogbono, brown beans(bcos of weevils) and dry fish also.

Wow! This is nice.
amazing kitchen u would love to Cook.
Pouring the water into the dispenser manually does not make sense to me... regardless
Oly.B the more she tried to explain it, the more complicated and too much of a hassle it sounded to me. 😂😂😂
I agree. You may as well just chill the bottled water in the fridge then grab and go. That was a poor design, obviously not thought through. If the compartment was to freeze the water and dispense ice cubes I could see but it makes no sense as a water dispenser.
honestly I'd use it for strong alcohol. win-win with the self-cleaning haha.

plz what do u mean by dual oven
Christy Akabike it's an oven where you can turn on both the top and bottom heating at the same time. This makes your baked goods turn out better.
@@FloChinyere the nexus gas cooker my mom uses heats up & down in the oven compartment with separate knobs.
😃😃. Love your little girl
Just like mine.
Hmmmm this woman na-atapiasi kwanu ego ya ooo.... Shai!!!😱
I want to answer some questions please I don't no to reach u I am following your programme I'm in grammar
Please what is dual heating oven or gas cooker all about and how do I get to know it. Thanks
Dual heating means it has an element for heating at the top and the bottom of the oven. It helps cos it means your oven gets heated from the top and bottom making you food cook more evenly. Hope this helps
from your pronounciation of No. i guess u lived in spain?... well i live there too but uni in russia.
How practical is a white kitchen in a Nigerian house please?!
Now I wonder what goes on in your Nigerian house that you can't have a white kitchen.
