There is no way I would squeeze into those tight caves but I would thoroughly enjoy going to the top of the tower! So awesome view from the tower and the wind sound was so cool, just added to it. Plus that wind is so energizing! Way to go Cliff🙂☝️.
Cliff, nice video. I been there a number of times. The edge of that cloud bank was nice to catch on camera. For many years I climbed ladders and used bucket trucks. I've been lifted up on cranes to work on radio towers. You get the head for it when you do it a lot. You only keep the head for heights when you do it a lot. These days I typically only get up high when I sweep my chimney every year or have to do something on the house and of course when I visit places like you did here. The less I do it the less I like it. I think what you experienced is normal for most people. And it gets worse as we age. We just don't do it enough to be used to it. Thanks for the video!
The view was amazing, and to be honest this is the only way I'll ever be able to see it because I never would've took one step up so kudos to you sir and thank you for all the effort you put into all of your videos. I appreciate you
View up there absolutely Gorgeous!! I am so with you on the heights Cliff & that wind. Wow! you were brave, thanks for taking me. So much fun watching you hide the channel stickers. Good hiding place you found for this one. Wish I lived closer. Take good care!!🥰
Hi Cliff, wow, how awesome are you ??, congratulations on climbing up the tower, it takes courage to battle your fears so well done I'm so proud of you. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx🙏💖
Congratulations on going to the top. My heart was in my mouth seeing the height. The view was stunning. Thanks so much for taking me along, absolutely loved it. Please stay safe and take care
I could feel your journey up the tower but what a view WW! Thanks Kindly for taking us along! I felt it in my knees as well. I've climbed a few towers in my day and walked on the roof of a 60 some story building in NYC 8-10 years back. Looking over the edge of this building? FREAKY! It was windy too! A Fine New Year with Many Blessings, Adventures and Joy of Spirit for You, your Mom and Family! And may this be the year you find your land! DaveyJO
Any time you can overcome your fears is a very good day and makes for great viewing. Well done to you Cliff, very proud of going all the way up....and what a view.
I feel you with the heights. The holden arboretum in Kirkland Ohio has a tower. I forget how high it is but I have climbed it. I have MS and my legs are wobbly so I was determined to do it even though it was high and I did.
We got to visit this a few years back...pretty cool place! I believe we tried to do some hiking from this spot, but the trails were lacking in signage and rather brushy, but we did try. Thanks for the nice views!
Nice organization with that map at the beginning, I'm not that organized, lol! I like the whistling noise the tower makes with that wind. Impressive view! Great job getting up there and big Congrats on the 40k!!!
Thanks very much for sharing your experiences with us. I live here in Chambersburg and truly enjoy the little adventures you share. The secret sticker stash is a great idea and gives people yet another reason to get out and see stuff. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to the next adventure.
I've been there so many times usually around maple festival time. Have climbed that tower dozens of times but as I age(d) I just can't do heights anymore. Great job, great view. Ty for this and all your videos
Do the waterfall tour...Cucumber Falls, main falls on the Yough, and The Slides on Meadow Run ... If you do the Loop trail on the outside of Ferncliff peninsula you get to see the High Trestle, and can catch Cucumber Falls (short side trail) and walk up Meadow Run (past the State Park house, still State Land) ...under the 381 bridge to The Slides on Meadow Run .
Great job Cliff. So glad you made it to the top! Those views were spectacular thanks for sharing them with us here on the ground😊. I love the idea of hiding your badge stickers like a geocache, that’s a fun find for your local viewers. Hope the New year is a good one for you and that it holds many wonderful adventures ❤️
Way to go Cliff. Keep pushing past your fear of heights, you will become accustomed to it. I had afear of ladders, but kept using one to work on the house. I can now go up and down ladders with very little fear. By the way, great view. I hope I can get there some day.
I grew up within sight of the fire tower (Observation tower) on the top of Mt, Davis. Just north of Rockwood Pa. I used to walk to school, my year in 7th grade was in the new school building. They changed our name from the Mainliners to the Rockets, they didn't ask me.
“Sheesh” is what you said? Sure wouldn’t have been what I would have said. Wow, very impressed that you did this. I really don’t know if I could. I am so scared of heights. Way to go.
Love the explore. There is a Mt. Davis in Oakland, Ca. Mt. Davis is what fans of the Raiders called the construction-addition team owner Al Davis did to the Oakland Coliseum. Anyways, Enjoy, Kurt in Santa Rosa, Ca.
I'm gonna go there tomorrow and get your decal, I live just down the road, there's also a graveyard that might be the oldest in pa, a few miles from there, early 1700s. Abandent in the woods
I'm sure you went to the flight 93 memorial while in Somerset county. Not far from there you could have visited the Quecreek mine disaster rescue site. It's a small little area but it is worth the visit when in the area. So, if you come back through there, look it up. Lots of really cool info there about the rescue. I can remember when it happened. The area around Mt. Davis has many beautiful overlooks. Nice trails too! My wife and I camp very near to there every year in one of the dispersed camping sites. Nice to actually see you make it to the top of the tower. My wife has vertigo every day of her life so the world is always spinning for her. She has a tough time getting up and down that tower. Not to mention once she us on top but she always goes up with me for the adventure and gorgeous view! That view is always worth it! Last time we got there the leaves were all in full color. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful picture.
Hi Clift, I too felt your fear. Every time I climb to the top of a lighthouse down here in Fla and walk outside around the top I feel fear. I volunteer at one on the Gulf coast, its of an iron skeleton design and when its windy it sways.
I'm from Cambria County so this isn't too far from me. Be sure to check out the Ghost Town Trial sometime if you ever make it out here. Neat history there
The best way to overcome your fear of heights is by doing what you are doing. I managed it myself this way to. It is important to do it often, so climb this tower (or others)some more, if you are arround.
Hey bud love the videos. I live in south western pennsylvania. A cool spot I reccomend you check out is called staple bend tunnel trail. Lots of history there. Also there is a cemetery in the middle of the woods on the property of upj campus in Johnstown. Not sure as to the history of that spot however it's pretty awesome.
At 6:01 the rock behind and to your left is the true high point. I've bern to Mt Davis many times in my life. Been up on that look out tower many times as a little kid and as an adult. My grandfather took 8mm film of my Dad going up those steps as a teenager. Although I've lived in York Pa all my life a goid part of it was visiting Somerset County and the small town of Meyersdale Pennsylvania located there.
My neck of the woods again. I went up Mt. Snowdon in Wales in the UK back during college days. That has an elevation of 3560 feet. We were only allowed to go up 5/8 th of the way because of the high winds which were strong enough to blow one off the mountain. I'm surprised you were able to get up into that observation tower without being blown off. Must not have been an excessively windy day.
This channel sticker has been found.
Went today, the road is covered with several inches of ice and snow. Impassable
Right with you. Not a fan of heights. Proud of you for your perseverance. thanks for your videos
Thank you for coming to the Roof Garden of Pennsylvania! Where I lived for 24 years!
Finally you got to Somerset.my home while being in Maryland. Please explore more in Somerset county
Thank you for pushing past your fear! The view was amazing! Thank you for sharing!
I don't do heights either I felt your pain but it was a beautiful place. Thanks for being brave.
YAY you were in my home county. The last time I climbed that tower was about 30+ years ago. Somerset County is a beautiful county.
That ceiling of clouds was incredible
Glad you finally got there Cliff....Amazing views and the cloud bank was awesome.....My knees were shaking with ya!!
That was a high tower for sure! Well done cliff👍🏻
There is no way I would squeeze into those tight caves but I would thoroughly enjoy going to the top of the tower! So awesome view from the tower and the wind sound was so cool, just added to it. Plus that wind is so energizing! Way to go Cliff🙂☝️.

I’ve been there while it was snowing, AMAZING. Sometimes I miss PA
Congratulations on 40k subs
Yes we get snow to welcome to western PA enjoy your visit! Glad you claimed the steps!
I’ve done 36 of the state high points. It was nice to remember the PA high point. It’s just as I remember it. I did MD and WV the same day.
Beauteous, Woodsman! . . .the wind was playing a delightful pan flute tune.
I've watched other's videos of this spot and was hoping you'd get here eventually!
Glad to see you made it, I was there 15 years ago, I hope you did enjoy the view !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was there in early November. I, too, have a fear of heights. You're right the view from atop the observation tower is stunning.
I have been to Mt Davis. It always snows in Somerset County!
The view was amazing, and to be honest this is the only way I'll ever be able to see it because I never would've took one step up so kudos to you sir and thank you for all the effort you put into all of your videos. I appreciate you

You should return there in the summer. I wonder how cool it is there than the surroundings.
I have a similar fear like you do. The fact that you went up there. Kudos to you! You’re way more brave than I am
Very nice view!

I grew up in those mountains. It's beautiful up there!
Congratulations to you for making it to the top¡!!!¡ I have never made it past the third set of stairs
Nice one, we just did this a few months back. I like your idea of doing county highpoints!
“Sheesh” is what you said? Sure wouldn’t have been what I would have said. Wow, very impressed that you did this. I really don’t know if I could. I am so scared of heights. Way to go.
You are very brave, cliff. I could never have done it not for a billion dollars. Great job !
Me and heights don't get along either, totally understand. Awesome view though thanks for sharing.
Cool stuff! My land is on the highest point in my area in Pennsylvania, only at 2090 feet though! New sub here, bell clicked:)
quite proud of you

Always interesting journeys
Cliff headed too stoystown pa,911 memorial
Good for you for conquering the tower...
Wow, it sounds so spooky with the wind on that tower.
Great Video !!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Cliff
Used to climb the tower in the 60s when I was a kid with my grandpa. There used to a cabin there for picnics and you could drive around the tower.
That would be me (7:00). I love getting up as high as I can go, but the wind and shaky platform would make me pretty tense. Loved the tour.

I live in PA, absolutely hate it between October through March, but I've never been to a place as beautiful as PA in the Summer time.
Actually I think you did overcome it in this asventure for sure! Super proud of ya! When are you coming to Lyco?
Glad you overcome your fear of heights to climb the tower, I also hate heights so I know what it takes to overcome the dread.
Hi Clift, I too felt your fear. Every time I climb to the top of a lighthouse down here in Fla and walk outside around the top I feel fear. I volunteer at one on the Gulf coast, its of an iron skeleton design and when its windy it sways.

Been up that tower a few times.Easy going up but going down is little harder.. Worth it though for the view.
I’d of never guessed you were afraid of heights after going on that ledge to Saltpeter Cave. That looked a bit hairy.
I knew he was fearful of heights, and thought he did very well with that adventure as too!

Guessing next video will be from flight 93 memorial.
My great grandparents used to vacation in Eagles Mere, PA. Would really like to see a hike out that way.
Went there with my daughter.
She was about 10 years old .
She had blast climbing the stairs!
Me not so much !lol
Would definitely love to hit this place one day. Cheers
Respect Cliff, As a fellow fear of heights person I don't think I could have gone up, with the wind and openness? nope.
Way to go. I wonder what cave you mentioned in Bedford County?
Heights is fine, its the falling down that gets me
Falling isn't the problem it's that sudden stop at the bottom!
