Noctus sold the most out of all Tekken 7 characters. It makes perfect sense. Tifa is a side character in the end and they probably wanted too much money. And why bother when they can just get Clive that's new and hot and fits perfectly with his action moveset.
"it doesn't make any sense" since when did guest characters such as Noctis and Negan made sense. I also wanted Tifa but this isn't so bad at all, we could've went into weird direction like a Negan situation.
Since never, Noctis and Negan were mistakes, but this is a worse mistake because they already knew the community’s wishes. I imagine the outrage wasn’t as big with the first ones because they were the first, so people gave them a pass. But now, there’s no excuse. Just put these characters with their swords, their thunder, and their flames in Soul Calibur, brother. As someone who likes martial arts, I’m moving to Virtua Fighter after this ..

You act like you forget about we have Angel Jin, Devil Kazuya/Jin in here. @@louieverrtorreon684 The effects of fire, lightning, wind, or anything else are not the problem in themselves. As I mentioned, since Yoshimitsu is a swordsman character who has been in Tekken since the beginning, he is accepted. However, if it were up to me, he would also be deleted. The problem is not with the forms of the characters but with the martial art. I don’t see an issue with including a bear, a dragon, or a demon as long as they represent something similar to a martial art

Clive is my favorite final fantasy character, and I love tekken played since I was a kid so I'll definitely be playing my boy.

@@ruikiri tekken isn't about clean martial arts man, never has been. Idk where people got the idea that this is some realistic fighting game, did you see the trailer? I don't care that he's a weapon user, he looks bloody awesome and the animations are insanely well done, they clearly didn't cheap out on those, and the stage too.
Don't forget about victor. Who also has a gun along with nina.
And Alisa has chainsaws and rocket hands, and Nina has guns, and Zafina has a giant crystal arm, etc.

In Tekken, there is no such thing as "makes sense", in the last part Geese was the guest, in general, 2d fighting game was combined with 3d through just two heroes. What "sence" is she talking about)

Apparently the producers of tekken loved 16 and Clive when it came out, and were wanting to make him a character in the game for while. So the producers of FF had them play the game themselves so they can get an idea of who and how Clive is. So he was a planned character for some time and why he’s so alike to his actual game character in FF

This tells me two things. Tifa could only appear with FF7 part 3 release. There wont be another Soul Calibur game so put this weapon based character in Tekken instead.

Tekken players will do anything EXCEPT feel hype about the new guest characters. Who cares if it doesn't suit the standard of "martial arts". Building hype builds player bases. Ppl complaining about not getting tifa cause of her martial arts background are the some ones that enjoyed yoshi and victor, who last time I checked, Doesn't necessarily fit the "martial arts" genre of tekken
Its not that I just want Tifa for her martial arts bg, its because the story of FF7 Remake is unfinished and building even more hype around it, aside from her fighting style makes more sense then another sword fighter (Tho Clive is freaking epic, he would've made more sense in Soul Caliber imo)
FFXVI's story is finished, while FFVII Rebirth is getting another release for PC, getting more hype by getting a fitting character join the roster in Tekken 8 would have made more sense for me. Although now there is a chance that people give FFXVI a chance too, so either way as a FF fan, we still win.
@@Kirithuu many say that her background of fighting makes sense but literally victor, yoshi and kunimitsu are a thing plus I feel like tifa being an addition would just be a copy of Reina and Bryan the issue with that it’s that there’s nothing unique to her fighting style, generic or the same with one or 2 fighters at that point tifa fans are just asking cuz it’s tifa, and I mean Clive isn’t a bad pick for a final fantasy character I mean, people have the complain that cuz he’s a sword fighter he should be in soulcalibur when literally heihachi with no background swords was added to soulcalibur, in addition FFVII characters are expensive to gain any rights to if Nintendo could barely afford cloud back in smash tifa would be a far reach for namco and tekken

Oh shut up. Akuma and Geese were awesome, because they were FIGHTING GAME characters that fit into the game. This character (as well as Yoshimitsu AND Victor) do NOT fit into a fighting game where people mainly use their fists and feet. I felt the same way when they added RoboCop to Mortal Kombat 11, because he's a SHOOTING based character, NOT A FIGHTING GAME CHARACTER!

Clive unique abilities - eikon element abilities consisting of fire, water, earth, lighting,dark, and light magic.

Because he uses weapons eg. a long ass sword and magic, in a game that predominantly uses fists and feet. It's why I do not like/play as Yoshimitsu or Victor either. These type of characters belong in a weapon based fighter, like Soul Calibur.

It's exactly that. Plus FF7 character are HAAARD to get for crossover it cost hella money and you have a lot of people to go through. For Clive they said in the dev discussion that it was decided before FF16 was even out lol so she had no chance

Salty tifa stan sent me 😂 I was a bit disappointed it's not tifa as well but I'm plesently surprised for Clive... I haven't played FF16 but getting to know more about him over the course of today him and Jin r so alike so I guess that's why they choose him... I'm starting to like Clive's addition more now but I also hope we can get tifa too in the future after FF7 pt.3 comes out

People need to remember: Just because they have connections to get a Final Fantasy character doesn't mean it's carte blanche to get anyone they want. For all you know, they TRIED to get Tifa but Square Enix said no. Gamers think everything in the development process is so simple minded, when really it's just that their thought process is too shallow.

I'd be surprised if Clive brought new fans to tekken. I haven't seen anyone who doesn't already have Tekken, itching to spend 70 bucks plus Clive just to play him. He's just not a big enough name. I'll admit he looks cool, i downloaded the demo to FF16 (haven't tried it yet; doubt id buy full version tho from what ive seen) so there's that. On the other hand i clicked on a link to a FF7 rebirth(never seen any gameplay at all but i recognize tifa) tifa gameplay and i actually wanted to play but im on PC. Anyways, im not looking forward to fighting AGAINST Clive even if he's fun to play with.

Tifa is an actual brawler who punches and kicks, she doesnt just use her weapons. Clive is noctis on steroids, and no one wanted that. Even clive fans, i know for a fact were not expecting someone like him, bc it doesnt even make sense lol
@@sebastianmoscoso9404 noctis was an extremely popular character in tekken 7. Clive also matches the then for tekken 8 way more than Tifa. That is the sole reason they chose him. However I agree I would also like to see Tifa but I'm also not mad at Clive being there either

we used to say that the japanese are different, they are a separate culture and that it can be complicated to understand them or for them to understand the rest of the world. here is the proof! Clive???! why?, there were at least 500 characters more attractive than him to choose from but no. Tekken project's team is incomprehensible i swear. although adding characters is not the priority for me, personally I find Tekken 8 very unfinished to say the least, they have a lot of work to do to make it a game worthy of being called "Tekken" 🤔

Being disappointed by a "guest" character while playing a game that literally has demons, dinosaurs, cyborgs, androids, angels, mokujin, ogre, kangaroos, ect is crazy work. I agree Tifa would've been a fun pick but Clive by no means does not fit Tekken, the series is already insane 😅

Yeah sure, crazy work that someone else is disapointed by something you're not. Tifa or Clive coming to TEKKEN mean completely opposite things. One is for people who like the martial arts aspect of tekken and the other is for people who like to mash and see cool stuff. Unfortunately with the way tekken is going Clive is the perfect fit...
@@SonnyAmadeus they aren't opposite things. If you know anything about the ff7 series, you'd know that she would also likely have magic abilities. Materia exists in ff7 and Tifa is no stranger to using it. She would have more martial arts moves but magic would also be a factor in her moveset. Again, that would be in line with tekken anyways because the series is not a strictly martial arts game anymore. Its been completely wonky since T6, or even before that.
