How can someone appreciate or thank BR for the things he does? Claps? Hugs? Money? Share? I dont know.
I bet most of the cinephiles know people above the line and their works and filmmaking aspects, but know very less about the things and the people involved in making a script into a feature film.
We need more videos like these.
    - A sincere film lover and hence, a BR fan too.

Have seen millions of EP names in credits after a movie, never understood what they do. It's such an eye opener 👍 as always Rangan Sir rocks us with his insightful mind. Also the way Siva Anant sir explained, it's really a great but unsung kind of work that goes behind the camera. Never felt like an half hour video, would have watched it even if it was more than an hour. It was a brilliant conversation ❤️

I love that you are going behind the scenes. Literally. EP is a thankless job! They are in it right from the day the script comes till the movie plays out its logical end. But, it is richly rewarding too. Especially once the word goes out that you know your trade!

One of the best interviews. And at some point I felt it was more like a job interview 😃 So many drilling questions, which actually helped us get a fair idea of the work being done by EP 👍

Thank you so much for this masterclass, FCS. Just wished it was a little longer. Great insights for young filmmakers. May I suggest a masterclass with a line producer as well (and a part 2 for executive producer)?

This was an excellent interview as always by BR. It is indeeed a class yes, never knew in detail that EP has these many roles to do on a film production. there are some names in the film titles that i have wondered , what their jobs would be. For eg:- Liason officer , Line producer. Thanks Baradwaj for an informative masterclass. Every minute of your content is worth it. Whether a review , an interview or a masterclass like this. Awesome job!!

Thanks FCS and BR (not Balaji Rajashekar, the original BR). Special thanks to SA gaaru. I wish a part 2 is on the cards and I present a few questions that may help understand the role better.
    Part 2 questions:
.. What's EP's role in Post Production stages?
.. What qualifications does EP need to have? (Not characteristics, but educational).
.. At what all stages of film making do you interact with the Director, or is it everyday?
.. Is Mani a man of few words, or is he open with EP?
.. What made you take up EP role while you were involved in various parts of film making in the past? (And you still have a Director in you).
    .. How to talk&treat ATL?
.. How do they look upon an EP?
.. What type of escalation/issues come to you from your Line Producers?
.. How does an EP deal with films that get shelved?
.. How much does a films box office affect an EP where he sincerely dedicates day and night towards everything that's needed for the film?
.. Are there awards for Best EP?
.. Is there a Union for EP? Or do you think it's necessary to have one, if it is not?
.. Do EPs' interact with other films EPs? Share an experience where another EP offered help or you approached for help.
.. How do you maintain your contacts with so many departments? How do you remember the right contact at the right time?
.. Does EP have a final say in payments of artists and technicians? What do you think about salary negotiation and Producers request to actors to reduce their pay?
.. How do you choose your Assistants for EP? Do you look for skills, or experience, or recommendation or a combination of all?
.. How do you deal with recommendation from influential people? (Could be for any part of the film).
.. As an expert EP, will you be a Director and an EP for your film?
.. What salary can a EP expect?
.. Your words for upcoming EPs or EPs in the industry...

Film south companion can You also invite Sundar c Sir, vikraman Sir, Ks Ravikumar sir,Agathiyaan sir(Kaadhal Kottai/Kaadhal Kavithai) Or Sasi sir (roja kootam, 555)? They are for me good director & it will be nice to hear to know about their experience please. Example kaadhal kottai won First time for tamil National award. Ks ravikumar done faboulus movies like muthu Or Padaiyappa Ramya krishnan madam acting that recognised also for Baahubali & super deluxe or pancha thanthiram. Vikraman what he understand about family subject movies or social issues. I liked his movies poove unakaage or suryavamsam. How is that possible that sundar c Sir make movie in 50 days & Editor work with him. Thats the fastest work ever. Why sasi sir wait for his Script to write example 2008-13 555.
Can you maybe make a roundtable, where other critics like bosskey, blue stattai other one panda etc ....
what they think of criticism or whether their opinion differs from others etc.
