I have seen plenty of people spend the 35 dollars to complete the pass over playing the game. Micro-transactions aren't good but if people think this is okay I understand. This doesn't devalue everything i said in the video. Thank you.
You're other points were correct i hate that 66L bs too but the battlepass section seems nitpicky just because you've seen people spend money that doesn't take away from the system itself the purchasing is literally to expedite the process so you don't have to play missions but it's entirely optional and as I said by comparison to other passes the rewards on this one are actually worth while since the sf6 battle pass is full of junk like RENTAL TICKETS cosmetics for the lobbies that no one goes to and then you got the warzone pass which has skins for a FIRST PERSON GAME
The 66L issue is definitely a problem. Like, at least give it a timer so that, if you do it after pressing a normal, the frame advantage gets lower and lower, to the point it become punishable.
Its very cool that a lot of techniques this game can go back to smash. And you reccommemding this is something smash does as well. The scaling of moves getting worse as you use them again. Its just really funny.
@@SoftwareNeos Well, depends what you mean by scaling. Idk anything about Smash(other than just having a good time with friends full of chaos lol), but usually scaling means it does less damage over time. What I meant here was that, the recovery frames are less, so eventually it becomes punishable, making it running the risk if you spam it.
The funny thing about the ultimate skills is that i think the devs were trying to make so you can skip neutral with them to make the game be faster paced, but from what ive seen so far in high level it has the the exact opposite effect cuz everyone is just not doing anything in neutral the moment someone has 50% meter because they are afraid of eating a 50% combo that comes outta nowhere and barely has any risk. They really need to make them have more recovery on whiff or something that makes them more punishable cuz in the state it is right now it is making the game WAY more boring to play.
Im just gonna be honest I think they need to choose ,personally I think 66l gotta go before we talk about ultimate skills. The thing is 66l enables constantly farming back resources to spam ultimate skills if 66l didnt exist the resource gain would not be as cracked as it is right now since most people are gonna go back to walking in neutral instead of dash macro buttton. Alternatively because there is a dash macro in the game the stats of the move need to be altered drastically. If they did a system change where they say alright no more dash macroing for this input 66l would still be garbage to fight but its not happening at the very frame they decide they want to do it they gotta do the 66 input, not accounting for human error, where they mistime the 66l having an input preceding a command is a very undervalued and less talked about facet in the fgc. Do you know how pissed blazblue community would be if Iron Tager for his command throws was the simplest input. Like all im saying is there is a reason by design why some grapplers have janky ass inputs. They want the person on the other side to be commiting to this action much like how DP 623 (button) is by DESIGN, notice how all those inputs require you to get your hand off the block button. This game has a simple button accessibility which im fine with, but notice how the same thing that we used to enable ease of access can flip on its head and make something even more difficult to get into?(66L The worst offender imo) Humans are simple "I hit buttons I get dopamine rush when my buttons land", ok so when the defender starts countering and negating commonly used ways to go in (66L). The other player is gonna be stuck having to learn an entire different game. Then they have the ugly duckling period "why aren't my things working anymore", if they survive/tolerate it they get better if they dont they get frustrated and log off. When you give so many crutches to learning a game, to appeal to a wider audience it doesnt just hurt the high level play. Id argue it hurts the people trying to get in more because its ALL they know. So while yes it gets their feet wet in the fgc it also hampers their growth so bad they are more likely to purchase and quit the game -_-
I can understand the frustration with a lot of these things, and I'm glad you're confident enough to just say it how you see it, but i do want to point out some things i feel are important to know. 1. The connectivity I completely agree on, hopefully they here people on this one and implement it soon. 2. 66L is very oppressive, but I don't think they should destroy it in the 2B patch. Making it punishable on whiff or having it reset neutral on spot dodge would be all i want at the moment. 3. Guard Cancel is the first I will be super contentious on, as I think in the games current state it is required. GC is a pretty balanced tool when considering how oppresive offense currently is, sacrificing an extremely valuable resource in BP and allowing you a turn is something some, especially ones without invincible reversals, desperately need. It definitely should be tweaked though, at least reset neutral on whiff, not whatever the hell it does right now. 4. Ultimate skills are very dependant on which character you play, as some characters like Siegfried, Belial, and Zeta have incredibly good ultimate skills all around. Compare this to some of the less fortunate characters, like Katalina, really only have one truly great ult skill. A large amount of ultimate skills are just knowledge checks though, for example, Soriz's Ult punch can be spot dodged and punished (obviously not perfect, but it is consistent), and Narmaya's vanish can simply be anti aired. I just think its a character balance issue, not really an Ultimate skill issue. 5. I dont really have a say on "neutral skips" being tied to gameplay, as I think if done well it doesnt matter. I'm going to hold off on really getting pissed about that stuff until I the 2B update. 6. Battlepass and Microtransactions... This is one i'm going to have to completely disagree on here. An optional 8 dollar battle that takes maybe 2 weeks to complete will never be a negative for me, especially with how others in the industry do their battlepasses. As for microtransactions, I dont get it. The only things purchasable are colors (which are earnable with time), characters (this is more to do with FGs as a whole, not just Granblue), and announcers (perfectly reasonable considering how negligible they are to impacting the game). I genuinely believe this in the top 3 Arc Sys fighting games that respect your money, deadass.
@@sonic-bb Compared to the norm for fighting games GBVSR might as well be saints. Melty Blood Type Lumina is the peak, Granblue is a few below that, probs near where the new Undernight is.
Playing Eustace when 66L and neutral skips are so strong is just really rough. Having to stop playing the game when the opponent has 50% meter so I don't get blown up is so wild to me😭 Also I know brave counter is really strong, but when you don't have a meterless DP it's a godsend and I appreciate it a lot.
I love how each of these problems work against doesn't help Ferry the character I played Bad at using 66L, brave counter both help her zoning but hurts her rage vortex mixups, and her neutral skip ultimate skill with the blue whip doesn't combo or do much damage I don't think Sonic Sol mentioned this, but reversals here are very silly
Blue whip also straight up loses to anre's 236l and only clashes against against Eustace M gunshot btw, not even ex or U moves. And also clashes against griminir 214U and charlotta U blanca ball for some dumb reason, and doesn't beat most U projectiles despite coming out slower
@@laffy7204 she low profiled a dash attack? Thats strange. U sure she didnt just invuln ir crush it? I can see her low profiling whip on certain moves tho. But yeah the game overall is pretty hostile to ferry rn. She cant take advantage of 66l very well cos she's slow af while it allows other charas to threaten her from longer ranges all while most charas have a neutral skip she can't punish. If she cannot react in a split second to sth like soriz's 236U she stands to lose 60% of her health and its the same if makes a mistake, opponents can blow her up from across the screen all while carrying her to the corner while at long ranges even on punishing an opponent's mistake she gets a maximum of like 3k. And on top of that her entire U skill kit is just generally underwhelming. While its not impossible to win with her and be consistent, u just sorta have to wonder if its even worth it when risk reward is so skewed in ur opponents favour, while u can just pick, idk, six and just 66l and spam specials to victory
Pretty much agree with everything; I don't mind the battle pass, but I would like some progress to be made for each mach. Tying all exp to missions is dumb, but they want the whales to drop $30-$40 day 1 to get the skin. If you're patient, it's pretty good value though. Ultimate skills are definitely the worst thing about the game atm imo. Sneezing full screen vs Zeta and getting blown up for 60% is just stupid. She's already insane in every other regard, don't know why she needed that shit too. There's a lot of stuff in this game that doesn't make sense to me. You can punish certain m DP's by air blocking them; that's dumb. I don't understand why dashing disables block and you have to spot dodge stuff... like... just let me block, regular walk speeds are slow as shit in this game, but 66L is faster than Dee Jay drive rush, just let me block please. Balance is also a concern. Characters like Katalina have 3 moves and are basic as hell, but then Nier can combo off a freaking DP and zeta has fuzzies and 3 overhead mixups. I hope do hope they make some major adjustments soon (nerfing ult skills, certain characters, 66L, buffing characters... etc...).
ArcSys already explained during Harada roundtables with other fighting game devs, that they don't wanna shame WiFi users etc. They are terrible when it comes to online. Nothing new. We saw DBFz lobby issues, we saw Strive's lobby issues, etc
They can just add a short connection test and show the results. If you're on shitty wifi, your results from the test will be bad, but it won't target wifi specifically.
1- 100% agree about the wifi stuff. We should be able to choose if we want to play against wifi at all. And they should offer a tiered list of connection quality ranges to choose. And they should make sure the pop up stays frozen a second before allowing you to press a button, so you don't reject or accept matches by accident just because you were practicing a combo in training mode. 2- ffL is annoying, but I think I've found reasonable enough ways to deal with it so it doesn't irk me so much. 3- I like the guard reversal acting as a costly but powerful combo breaker that forces a turn change. It may be too much right now, but I don't feel it is esentially bad. 4- Ultimate skills that catches anywhere AND gives major damage shouldn't exist. One or the other, not both. And also safe on block? No. Just no. 5- I don't mind the battle pass grind. It keeps people engaged playing and competing, and I think that is really good. But they should also sell the stuff separate, for reasonable cost and without the grind: sell the battle grind with everything for 5, but also sell each badge or illustration for 1, each color for 2 and the costume, without grind, for the same 5. Then the battle pass becomes a valuable quest you love to choose, not a mandatory obligation you hate to grind.
66L makes it hard to play neutral. U can just be chilling then boom, jumpscare 66L and u gotta deal with it. Dash skills are just unbalanced in general.
I agree 100% with this stuff. Funny thing is in Xrd YRC didnt skip neutral it just slowes down the game and in turn made some options you can do against it harder. If tht made YRC basically function like FRC in +R the game would be better for it. If the game eat inputs and slow down it would be perfect. But defense wise and character wise everyone couldnt skip neutral it was like you said. Tied to characters which imo is 100% better because it sets every character apart gives each character a unique flavor. That is what other games need to remember
66L needs one or 2 of these nerfs: Reduced startup to 12 frames 20% reduced range Less pushback on block (forcing people to go into chain on block or do a button that’s negative) Cool-down on 66L so that 66L>66L and 66L>5L>66L isn’t possible. +2 on block AND Hit. No more combos from 66L on hit. As it is the entire game is who can 66L better than their opponent.
I think 66L is fine in concept it just feels too homogenous because everyone pretty much has the same, having more character specific difference like on other sprinting buttons would make the attack way more interesting. Like, maybe it's only plus in certain situation, for exemple what if it's only plus for cagliostro if she has a rock out? or for siegfried when he used his damage buff? stuff that keep the attack strong but force you to play your actual character and make it slightly more conditionnal. I think guard cancel is great tbh, like yeah it's *really* strong but I think that's cool and I enjoy the back & forth mechanic it creates. Although What I'd like to see is a change to how BP works so that they carry over between rounds, like, you start with 5, you heal 1 if you lose a round, and they carry over, it'd encourage more careful ressource management and make the last round a lot more tense cause characters likely are low on BP at this point. That wouldn't make brave counter weaker but it would make overusing it a less reasonable strategy. I do love ultimate skills though. I think there's a bit of tuning to do in term of risk/reward, but they're very cool. I think a lot of them shouldn't give you a full combo, especially those with mobility, and the refund on block might be excessive and encourage spamming them, but overall they're just really neat and contribute to character identity. The battle pass can go die though, I hate those things they're just manipulative systems that exist only for greed and they make the menus look bloated.
You might have forgotten the 4f throw. It's so hard to shimmy them effectively when it's this fast, and ofc, the top tiers have a free ultimate skill as an auto throw-bait with the cherry on top.
The problem with pop-up is that you can also accidentally cancel it if you're labbing and hit heavy... Oh, but regarding the "past ArcSys" games - FighterZ had indication of connection in bars, with solid sea-green being best, then green etc all the way to red having almost no bars and being unplayable. You could also specify you want only "good" connection in matchmaking.
You can change the matchmaking settings. You can set it so that when you get a match you hit the start button to bring up the menu to accept or decline matches. To do this, head to matchmaking options and choose match confrimation and set it to start for pop-up confirmation.
Ngl I thought this video was gonna be straight cap because I like the game for the most part, but yeah you hit the nail on the head. 1. Not being able to see connection is annoying. 2. 66L is crazy powerful and I think if they're going to keep it universally +2, they should make it whiff punishable. My least favorite thing about 66L is that it's basically RPS after you block it. They should make it punishable if you spot dodge or roll it but as it is right now, you get punished for calling it out with one of those options because the 66L recovers fast enough to counter hit the recovery of spot dodges and rolls when I really think it should be the other way around. If you're going to give everyone a universal neutral and pressure tool, give everyone a universal answer to dealing with that tool as well. 3. Holy shiiiiiiiiit someone finally shared my main complaint with guard cancel. My main big complaint is just the fact that it puts you in chip range and hard knockdowns. So sometimes when both people are low on HP, neither of them want to do anything because the person who gets guard canceled is just dead for free. The fact that it's +6 is also pretty dumb. I think it should be unsafe on block or at the very least just make it minus and if it's going to deal damage, remove the hard knockdown or remove the hard knockdown and keep the damage. Idc, but the combination of the two creates inescapable chip situations where the person who wins neutral has to make a hard read on offense to dodge or bait a guard cancel or they simply lose. 4. Ultimate skills are pretty busted and the main thing I want to see is having their damage scaling reduced. Pretty much every character gets 50% for landing an ultimate skill. As someone newer to fighting games I think neutral skips make a game more accessible and interactive at lower levels so things aren't so one sided, but I will say the thing I utterly hate is when said neutral skips lead to ridiculous damage. Getting any combo into a knockdown off a neutral skip move is already rewarding enough and if games would stop giving these moves such high damage reward it would help teach people that are new to fighting games the value of oki and post knockdown situations. New players don't need fullscreen BS that kills you from 50-60% HP, they need to learn how to make the most off of their hits. Even if those hits only lead to 10-20% damage, they are still invaluable when you learn how to properly structure your offense and oki after knockdowns. 5. I also hate the way the battle pass is integrated currently but I do have a hope. Cygames has already put a lot of content in the in-game store so my hope is that after this season's battle pass is over, the skin for Narmaya will be put in the shop OR released separately. If they keep the skin exclusive to the battle pass, that is utterly stupid. If they release battle pass exclusive content separately or put it in the shop within a timely manner and they continue doing that for future battle passes, I'm okay with it.
Easiest way to fix 66L is to make it have no priority, so if you anticipated it, you can actually stop it now instead of getting blown up if you are just a few frames too late.
Not sure what you mean by "priority" in this case. Usually priority in fighting games only applies when moves hit on the same frame. So if you're a few frames too late, you're still too late.
@@WafflesOWNz iirc the slowest f.L in this game is 8frame, and you can throw dash L. The game actively does not let you do dash L right after a close L or 66L, you can jump right away for example, but not forward movement. So yes, if it has no priority, you no longer have to mash straight out of block stun to stop dash L reliably.
If you hold forward after c.L or 66L, you have extra 5 frame until you can actually advance. So it leads to C.L into 66L or 66L into 66L can't frame trap, while something like a plus c.H into 66L will frame trap. For example Ferry, c.H is plus 3, c.H into 66L will actually frame trap, a 5f frame trap(average c.L speed is 6), but if she does c.L into 66L, while her c.L is plus 2 it wont be a 6f gap, it will be an 11f gap.
The only problems with soriz ultimate skill dash punch if u facing some1 that has a multiple hitting fire ball he be held in place it not go through saying that but when u make a hard read with it it going to hurt alot
I can’t wait to see you keep up this energy after you get heat engaged and lose 60% off a forced 50/50. Let’s all pretend that 66l stole our lunch money and the NEXT game is the real one.
It's honestly hard to find any criticism of this game. Your arguments are well-supported. Speaking for myself, I really was looking forward to this before it launched. It's so far away from the vanilla game that I don't even want to play it. I don't like the Brave system. I think the meter gain is ridiculously fast. For me, and others apparently, the button interpreter has problems so stuff just doesn't work right at times. The dread of "touch of death". There are myriad issues. I'm not sure they expected the demo to chase people away from the game but even playing for free isn't that fun to me. The disappointment is absolutely palpable on this one. For a game championed as "easy to get into", it sure seems like they achieved the polar opposite. Edit: Oh, and about the battle pass: I'll be damned if I'm going to pay anyone money to work, regardless of how trivial it is. This world is upside down.
Thank you so much for talking about the Battle Pass! I feel insane because i feel like i'm the only who hate it and people are fine with paying to grind for Narmaya's boobs. Now i know at least there are 2 people who hate this bullshit. Call me old timer or whatever, fighting games already have the try and true method of Season Pass / Character Pass. I'd willingly spend my money to buy 2B this month. I don't care how fast the Battle Pass leveled up, it still induces FOMO in a genre that used to be fine without it FOR YEARS. Now you don't only have to worry about matchups and spending mental energy to play around your opponent, you got to worry about missing out contents that you have paid to grind. And not including the Battle Pass on Steam's DLC list is so scummy.
66L only carries you in the lower ranks, that anila for example didnt used her DP or used any brave points to counter it, you can press buttons if you are at the right distance or interrupt the dash before it hits you, i get it in the lower ranks, maybe up until lower A but from that point on, when you face player that knows how the game works, is not that powerfull, also, not many players have a dash button, so an instant 66L is not even that common, i found it way too chip so i dont have one and most of the players i know dont have one Edit: tell me you are not asking for them to sell a costume at 9.99 and complaining about a battle pass of 8 bucks that gives you a ton of stuff and a costume at the same time, you want an sf6 situation were a lobby costume cost 15 dollars, not even a costume for your character un game, just a lobby costume, or you want the sf5 situation? Were you needed to spend like 500 dollars to get the "full game" unlocked, come on man, i can get the brave points complain and if you talk from the perspective of a regular player i can also see the 66L thing, but this is just hate for no reason
Wholeheartedly agree with all points. I always hated the slowdowns ArcSys started introducing to fighting games. Another thing I really hate that they started doing is adding too much bloom into the games. How anybody thinks everything glowing looks good is beyond me. Blurry messes do not look good. With Xrd, I at least could disable bloom completely as it was on UE3, but with all these new UE4 games the best I can do is use 200% screen percentage, which alleviates some of the glow. Disabling bloom does not work, and everything still glows like a lamp. The guys at nVidia should hurry up with the graphics modding tools, hope it works with DX12 games.
Narmaya Moon slash isn’t that good. It still gets hit on start up, on block it just chip damage and the other guy going to skybound art. Every once in a while i accidentally jump meaing I lose 50 bar to jump up to down
It's pretty good if you time it on any commit from enemy. I thought it was bad till I just reserved it for when someone uses a skill from full screen/mid screen (both 50%-meter teleports from either stance), then it became really oppressive for them knowing I could just zip up and take 60% or so HP at any mistake from anywhere on the screen It's not broken because you can't just mindlessly use it def, but it's really strong
Narmaya's dashes and Moon Slash seem more like a knowledge check than other character's neutral skips. A player that knows when and how to throw them can jump scare you with them, but they give her none of the safety characters like Soriz get with theirs, and they're much easier to react to. Still, the amount of neutral skips seems ridiculous. Lucilius getting to 50/50 on it being high or low off a teleport is a war crime.
Wait how come the battle pass is more for you guys? It was only $6 for me. Also there is no reason to pay more levels. Just do the missions they’re easy. Compared to other games (sf6) where you had to pay $15 for just an AVATAR skin or $10 minimum for an actual character skin, yeah, this is way better. $6 for a skin alone I’m sure some people would pay for but we also get a bunch of other goodies in there. Tbh I think these gbvsr battle passes are the way to do it
Some people may have paid for the levels because they want to play other video games too, instead of grinding one game only. Personally, I think making people do these small missions is very unfun, as you are forced to do something specific instead of just playing however you want. I play War Thunder a lot, and being forced to perform certain actions over taking something fun into the air gets on my nerves. I also think that these battlepasses are always too overpriced. Why is a skin 6 dollars? 5 levels of the FREE pass is 3 dollars. Did it cost the developers golden ingots IRL to make the skin or levels? No. Most of the battlepass rewards are not very worthwhile either, in any game with battlepasses. And don't get me started on the time limits for something you pay money for. Dumbest thing ever.
@@0GTXRthis is how I know you didn’t actually play the game. The challenges are literally “do damage” or use a super a few times. You don’t need to play in any way that is different at all. And in less than 5 matches you’ll be done with everything.
@@0GTXR grand bruise came up in the bp 1 single time. and the game doesnt expect you to play every single day either. this is a joke i swear. you have 40 days to complete a pass that takes 14 at best to complete. with maybe 30 mins of play time for each of those days. if you cant do that its fine. but there is no game that will ever accommodate to anyone who plays less then 30mins a day every 2 weeks.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed that 66L was a problem. I think it's especially a problem since Percival (my boy) got shafted by taking his neutered self into a more power-crept version of the game. It truly feels like Percival was brought in an environment where most, if not everyone, else kinda has it a bit better than him. And I didn't even know about the Battle Pass until you brought it up tbh. Fuck GB and Fuck SF6 for pulling this shit.
He's exaggerating the BP a lot. Sure the grind is a little annoying, but if you're at all competent at the game it's like 15 min of playing the game each day for about 15 days to get to lvl 60 and they give you 40 days to get there. Unless you need all the extras like Week 1 the BP is just $6 for some extra colors, weapon skins, and a costume. You can just tune in enough to do the weeklies and only need to get like 5 days worth of dailies. The standard you'll hit if you just play the game. It's a little dumb to complain about being "forced" to pay $30 for something you already paid $6 for when they make it very easy to not need to pay $30....also you don't even have to pay the $6. Pay nothing, see if you get to lvl 60 or whatever lvl you need to unlock the thing you care about and then decide if it's worth $6. Then pay and you automatically get all the stuff you've leveled up to. Like if you're not playing the game enough to finish the standard and weekly missions you'd be wasting $30+ to pay for all those levels for a game you don't really play anyway. Free would be nice or included in the Deluxe/Season pass would've been cool, but for how fighting games are generally trending it's nothing compared to what Capcom and NRS are pulling.
@@thefgcsensei4482 Fair. I'm honestly not that into this BP stuff either, just I've been completing them without any thought payed to it so whatever I guess. Ever since Project L was announced people have been hyping how Riot games will change the FG model but that model is literally this kind of stuff.
@@notdre217 It's moreso the fact that the Battle Pass exists. Far too often we see games that shouldn't have Battle Passes, have them because that's the hallmark of a mainstream game. Coupled that with the fact that the new system mechanics are forcing even talented and even intermediate players to constantly respect such free pressure, and you have a game that's caters to the lowest common denominator. I don't blame the players, I blame the devs.
For the most part, I can't say I really disagree with most, if not all, of the points you've made. Some don't personally bother me but I understand how they'd be deal breaking for most people. Well, except the last one, that's just plain egregious. I just don't play at a level where they matter that much. But man, this is getting depressing. I'm trash at fighters but I've been earnestly trying to get better recently. And I keep choosing the wrong ones. Started with "BBTAG", everyone hated that game. Started trying again with "GBFV Rising" now, everyone's starting to hate this game as well. All the other fighters I'm interested in either don't have scenes or are actively despised by the FGC. I genuinely hate my tastes. Whatever, I'm going to continue to suffer in C-rank casual hell. Been trying Zooey and just can't seem to get anywhere with her. No meterless reversal, the reversal she does have is lackluster or at least awkward, doesn't convert off 66L too well, lacks damage overall, most of her good moves are tied to a gauge or can be spot-dodged easily due to similar timing, and the only Ult skills she has worth a damn are 236U and maybe j.22U. I'm just not good enough to make her work with the couple strengths she does have, like her lightning set ups. Maybe I should just take the hint and finally quit fighters altogether. It's clearly not working out for me.
The mechanics I most like in rising gotta be the Guard Cancel, I like that its quick and get the opponet off you instantly if used right, just like in KOF, but I do agree that it should NOT be +f on block, it SHOULD BE -f on block (not punishable) and punishable on whiff - like when you know the guy's gona use it and you dodge or use an invincible move to punish or counter it. Just like in KOF moves like these (that are often very safe on block) should have extra recovery frames on whiff, so that it gets punished or very negative. The rest I enterely agree with you (except the Battle Pass which I didnt buy)
The Battle Pass. I hate the items. 5 randomly characters get a color all RED. We get 1 lobby avater probably never use and the rest is titles and banners. The money can buy DLC so that’s good. But the only thing I care about is the Narmaya skin. The Battle Pass is only $8 and your probably doing one match everyday for two weeks. It’s a 2 week Battle Pass your going to complete it there no real problem
Adding thought about the Battle Pass. The free BP stops at LV30. The empty space could be fill with junk items. I mean Avaters, Weapons and Hats. 1 guy in a hour could program some simple junk items to make the avatars look nicer. I feel like they want the Lobby to be a hang out zone but they don’t do anything to make us want to hang out in the lobby. Besides the soccer field
A lot of what you said is correct but I did kind of wanna point out something on the battle pass. Coming from someone who plays fps games as well as mmos and stuff, games that were originally the ones who had the battle pass model, risings is wayy more generous in terms of progress gained per day simply from dailies as well where they placed the "premium item" (generally it'd be at like tier 80-100). I definitely understand not liking battle passes in general, and that's a different discussion for sure because that's preference. But in terms of this iteration, it really doesn't cost anything to level the free pass until 60 and then buy it to unlock the whole thing. Although my opinion would change if they restrict progress you can make on the free one after 30 until buying premium which would be absurd. Another thing i suppose is different is that the game doesn't have a currency that you purchase to make purchases, so they dont offer a way to rollover battle pass rewards to fund the next one which most others do. I would though prefer to just be able to outright buy costumes and not feel forced to play or miss out so on a fundamental level i agree
Everything you said was valid until you got to the battlepass part you dont HAVE to spend extra money to get the skin just buy the premium pass and do the missions and in comparison to time spent and exp given with other battlepasses like fortnite and sf6 this game is EXTREMELY generous
From each weekly mission you going up like 2-3 tiers from one mission and most of the missions is mad easy like do a certain amount of supers or something and ALL the missions outside of the grand bruise ones can be done in a private lobby with friends
I played like 5 matches in 30 minutes and went up like 10 levels. If it's only 800 points per level all the way up until 60, then that doesn't seem like it will take long at all. I get that some people just don't like bp's, but this game also has a free version, so players have another thing to work towards and maybe they end up buying the bp and the full version. Plus it's like what, $7? That's cheap. Though it would be nice if you could buy it with the in game currency once you earn enough.
so? nobody likes missing out on content. Skins are important to a game. If they werent, devs would just make every game with the white robot looking test character
Man, you should see ferry's U skill kit. She gets like, 1.8k damage max from across the screen, 2.8 with u skill but she never gets a combo when someone else can just neutral skip to half ur health ans carry u to the corner lol. 236U doesnt even beat some normal projectiles and clashes against some neutral skips
i think 66l is fine but a little more recovery would be great, i space myself out of 66l range often and some of these guys whiff and then mash then i get hit lol.. am i just bad/old man reactions or is the recovery just a little too quick, update ok u mentioned 10f of recovery, no wonder good/fair analysis, i like the battle pass I only remember paying like 10 dollars for it tho
I feel you on this, they'll whiff the 66L and still hit me with their next attack by mashing L before I can punish This is especially the case when they're sized like belial or lucius with their annoying neutral L legs. It's like there is no real negative frames in any condition 66L is used only positive.
And about 66L, I would love if it 'd get removed from the game haha or if it was -f on block and/or if you dodged it it had the same effect of a dodge on Raging Strike for a BIG punish and risk haha
This reminds me of drive rush but worse I at least can stuff you on reaction but 66l is stupid you can’t react to at least make it to where if you dodge it you can take your turn back
I'm usually not a guy who departs mid-match. Just take the L, whatever. In THIS game, the combination of the horrible elements of this game make me just turn it off mid-match every time i try to come back. Narmaya jumps, i try to AA and she herp-derp teleports behind me for a crossup combo, I just turn it off. If i get counter hit a couple times by 66L, game off. Try again tomorrow. I made the mistake of throwing a fireball against someone with 50% meter, so i lose 50 fucking percent life? Fucking unacceptable. I also hate the late throw tech and throw range. Even if you call out BR and go for a throw, they can accidentally throw break. You call out the throw and walk back for the shimmy? Too bad. You just got back thrown into the corner and have to deal with a safejump. I wanted to like this game so hard. I liked the first game. This game is just ridiculous. Poor decisions are rarely punished. The gameplay loop is terrible because everyone plays the same 66l centric gameplay or they get destroyed. I'll pop bact in for 2B and then this game is getting flushed. Nostslgia kept me going for DNF, but not here. This game is too irritating and at times, unga-bunga for me to enjoy it.
I agree with you, this game is so fucking cheesy, and I lose to people who suck at the game but they just know cheesy techs. I'm good at street fighter 6 but this game? Nah... I just want the narmaya skin, and then I'm out.
9:57 if you roll instead of spot dodge you can actually punish because she'll still do her dragon gauge charge animation on hit, block or whiff with counter hit recovery
Yo S-Sol your hilarious but you ainy lying bro I've talked about the 66L since the beta. I the replay also you cant go back or pause the replays (i think) also
None of these are actual issues that the game has tbh… There are ways to counter 66L and it’s not just as free as people think it is. Guard cancel is good, and you have to essentially sacrifice some of your hp to do it so it SHOULD be good. Ultimate skills are fun lol, it’s an anime fighting game it would be boring if there wasn’t crazy stupid sht to use every now and then lmao. The BP is totally fine, its like 8 or 9 bucks which is hella cheap. And from what I’ve heard the grind isn’t bad at all. The only issue this game has (to me) is that some characters need some extra love and others (cough cough Nier) need to get knocked down a bit.
Could you elaborate the counters? Gaurd cancel is NOT good because you lose a bravery point for this and the enemy can easily just 66L right back in your face. Using bravery to gaurd cancel means you will take more damage and when you're at 0 bravery (out of 3) you're likely to get ToD'd off anything. To lose bravery because some dude can mash 66L or even worse, macro it is not really a fair trade cause nothing is really stopping them from just spamming 66L until you're at 1 or 0 bravery for guard break kill. Guard cancel in general is a good counter but not to 66L, it's too easy to do it and nothing is there to truly make someone afraid to abuse it
@@TowerOfMasochism I wasnt saying guard cancel is a good counter to 66L (although even some pro players do it) but 66L isn’t just a free move you can just spam 24/7. It’s all about timing and distance, and longer range attacks and skills can interrupt it (depending on the distance and timing ofc).
@@TowerOfMasochismhe didn’t say gc counters 66l directly but you should know that unless the opponent flat out dodges the gc you are always plus so there is no excuse to allow the opponent to just 66l back in at you. That means you didn’t recognize that it was actually your turn now and let them get up and hit a button while minus. It’s little things like this that make it hard to to take discourse on 66l seriously. Like at least I can have confidence that sonic knows enough about the game to criticize the mechanic even if I disagree. But a lot of people here simply don’t know how it works or what counters exist and are just nodding in agreement. As soon as you ask them to elaborate they immediately say something blatantly false.
@@SH1NK1R01 It was pretty much true but just exaggerated that's fair The problem with 66L is that there are hardly any non risky ways to deal with it where enemy doesn't have adv. GC works but now ur more likely to get ToD'd, DP works but they can block as they are +, you can crouch weak/medium but that's more so you countering the moves that come out after 66L unless it's their very first attempt at 66L mid screen where there is a dash start up Just because you and I can counter it, doesn't mean it's balanced, what's unbalanced about it is that the options to counter are mostly risky and highly advantageous for the 66L user unless the person somehow messes up 66L pressure
I think 66L being positive on block could be okay if it was more minus on hit. Currently its +6 on Hit so most characters can combo into close 5M. I'd reduce it down to +4 on Hit so its only a pressure tool and not also a combo starter. This change could justify nerfing Brave Counter since brainless 66L corner pressure won't be quite as scary.
my issue is why do you love life if you tech a throw or guard cancel? That makes no sense, like you mentioned in your video if your opponent is low on life you guard cancel them you can put them in a chip kill check mate. Why do you lose life if you tech a throw lol nah man
eeh IMHO ultimate skills are ok but they really shouldn't refund considering how good they are. 66L is kinda scrubby but not a big deal. otherwise agree. and I'd add that the canned mixup autocombos should cancel into SOMETHING cause those things are useless. fuck the battlepass tho.
neutral skip? aint this man a DNF Duel advocate? lol. Anyway I dont have an issue with guard break because the beginners will mash that and I already know imma bout to do mad damage on you now. In fact people are starting to bait out BP just to get them to zero so they can kill em. We have balance issues
I have seen plenty of people spend the 35 dollars to complete the pass over playing the game. Micro-transactions aren't good but if people think this is okay I understand. This doesn't devalue everything i said in the video. Thank you.
You're other points were correct i hate that 66L bs too but the battlepass section seems nitpicky just because you've seen people spend money that doesn't take away from the system itself the purchasing is literally to expedite the process so you don't have to play missions but it's entirely optional and as I said by comparison to other passes the rewards on this one are actually worth while since the sf6 battle pass is full of junk like RENTAL TICKETS cosmetics for the lobbies that no one goes to and then you got the warzone pass which has skins for a FIRST PERSON GAME
the fact that this man knew the lyrics to the dash a song is crazy
I'm going ot hate the battlepass if stuff like the narmaya outfit become fomo, and never to be seen again, i hate that shit.
Damn they really spending that much just to complete it lol
if people think 30$ for a skin is okay they're fucking stupid, that doesn't make it ok lol
@@SoftwareNeos same move proration existed long before smash
Make it punishable on successful spot dodge would be great too
@@m1rasantika I really like this solution, because this would mean that it is highly punishable on whiff, which I think to be a great idea.
I genuinely believe this in the top 3 Arc Sys fighting games that respect your money, deadass.
u really believe this game respects ur money?
@@sonic-bb Compared to the norm for fighting games GBVSR might as well be saints. Melty Blood Type Lumina is the peak, Granblue is a few below that, probs near where the new Undernight is.
It's crazy to me that people are so accepting of a premium battle pass in a game you already paid 50 bucks to play. Fuck em microtransactions
My favorite part of this video is the "Dashu A" bit. That shit is now an instant classic 😂
I was dead 😂
Playing Eustace when 66L and neutral skips are so strong is just really rough. Having to stop playing the game when the opponent has 50% meter so I don't get blown up is so wild to me😭
Also I know brave counter is really strong, but when you don't have a meterless DP it's a godsend and I appreciate it a lot.
I love how each of these problems work against doesn't help Ferry the character I played
Bad at using 66L, brave counter both help her zoning but hurts her rage vortex mixups, and her neutral skip ultimate skill with the blue whip doesn't combo or do much damage
I don't think Sonic Sol mentioned this, but reversals here are very silly
Blue whip also straight up loses to anre's 236l and only clashes against against Eustace M gunshot btw, not even ex or U moves. And also clashes against griminir 214U and charlotta U blanca ball for some dumb reason, and doesn't beat most U projectiles despite coming out slower
@@garethcf1016 My dash attack and whip whiffing over Charlotte actually made me uninstall the game. The straw on the Camel's back
@@laffy7204 she low profiled a dash attack?
@@garethcf1016 Charlotte just crouches, sits there, them the dash attack whiffs many time. I swear
another thing with guard cancels is that you can OS L > M+H and you get a light if you whiff it, making it even stronger
I hope do hope they make some major adjustments soon (nerfing ult skills, certain characters, 66L, buffing characters... etc...).
Blud just taught me how to get better at the game, ive been playing a more traditional and honest neutral which gets blown up by all these techs
I honestly didnt understand why a run button was added to the game until i saw how buff 66l is
1- 100% agree about the wifi stuff.
Loved the perspective about neutral skips being a system mechanic vs character specific tools to deal with match-ups. Keep up the great content.
66L needs one or 2 of these nerfs:
Reduced startup to 12 frames
20% reduced range
Less pushback on block (forcing people to go into chain on block or do a button that’s negative)
Cool-down on 66L so that 66L>66L and 66L>5L>66L isn’t possible.
Clearly, cleanly shaven Sol gives him a buff
This is how to break your game: By adding new shiity mechanics without testing them properly
Tldr is, while it is plus, attempting to do 66L into 66L has a gap big enough for you to counter hit them with your close H button.
If you hold forward after c.L or 66L, you have extra 5 frame until you can actually advance. So it leads to C.L into 66L or 66L into 66L can't frame trap, while something like a plus c.H into 66L will frame trap. For example Ferry, c.H is plus 3, c.H into 66L will actually frame trap, a 5f frame trap(average c.L speed is 6), but if she does c.L into 66L, while her c.L is plus 2 it wont be a 6f gap, it will be an 11f gap.
damn bro preach. That no wifi indicator does sux. Street Fighter is just on another level. Going to find out about Tekken soon
The only problems with soriz ultimate skill dash punch if u facing some1 that has a multiple hitting fire ball he be held in place it not go through saying that but when u make a hard read with it it going to hurt alot
Genuinely at this point I don't even think any move in this game has end lag LOL, 66L is a travesty. I can't wait for Tekken 8
oh there's moves you can whiff punish. too bad you're just gonna do 66L instead lol.
I can’t wait to see you keep up this energy after you get heat engaged and lose 60% off a forced 50/50. Let’s all pretend that 66l stole our lunch money and the NEXT game is the real one.
@SH1NK1R01 hey don't you talk to Tony like that. He'll summon his strongest demon on you.
66L only carries you in the lower ranks, that anila for example didnt used her DP or used any brave points to counter it, you can press buttons if you are at the right distance or interrupt the dash before it hits you, i get it in the lower ranks, maybe up until lower A but from that point on, when you face player that knows how the game works, is not that powerfull, also, not many players have a dash button, so an instant 66L is not even that common, i found it way too chip so i dont have one and most of the players i know dont have one
Edit: tell me you are not asking for them to sell a costume at 9.99 and complaining about a battle pass of 8 bucks that gives you a ton of stuff and a costume at the same time, you want an sf6 situation were a lobby costume cost 15 dollars, not even a costume for your character un game, just a lobby costume, or you want the sf5 situation?
Good point on the bloom i think even going back to XRD from Strive is a world of difference. XRD looks so much better in that respect.
Yesss I hope they see your video and consider the feedback
Narmaya Moon slash isn’t that good. It still gets hit on start up, on block it just chip damage and the other guy going to skybound art. Every once in a while i accidentally jump meaing I lose 50 bar to jump up to down
It's pretty good if you time it on any commit from enemy. I thought it was bad till I just reserved it for when someone uses a skill from full screen/mid screen (both 50%-meter teleports from either stance), then it became really oppressive for them knowing I could just zip up and take 60% or so HP at any mistake from anywhere on the screen
It's not broken because you can't just mindlessly use it def, but it's really strong
@@SH1NK1R01 I did play, but I can't play every single fucking day.
No I'm not going to spend time playing grand bruise.
@@SH1NK1R01 Maybe I overreacted. We'll see. I have PTSD from War Thunder.
You nailed it, my guy! 66L is damn egregious.
@@notdre217I'd just like an option to buy the costumes tbh
Battle passes have no place in fighting games, direct purchase is always better
As a metera player, i feel his rage cause we dont have this shit 😂
But you mad at me cause im “spamming”
true, the battle pass of Rising have at least skin. In SF6 have only trash for avatar
I play Vaseraga...
My 66L isn't that good... But I'll give it a try.
66l is making the game pretty much unplayable for me at moment, waiting patch.
The battle pass should have idd be free for people who bought the deluxe edition.
I agree. I think that he expects the battlepass for free for everyone.
Just spit balling here but what if the narmaya skin is in special content at the end of the battle pass
imma need a link to the “dashu ay” video that was funny
Man, you should see ferry's U skill kit. She gets like, 1.8k damage max from across the screen, 2.8 with u skill but she never gets a combo when someone else can just neutral skip to half ur health ans carry u to the corner lol. 236U doesnt even beat some normal projectiles and clashes against some neutral skips
i think 66l is fine but a little more recovery would be great, i space myself out of 66l range often and some of these guys whiff and then mash then i get hit lol.. am i just bad/old man reactions or is the recovery just a little too quick,
update ok u mentioned 10f of recovery, no wonder
good/fair analysis, i like the battle pass I only remember paying like 10 dollars for it tho
I feel you on this, they'll whiff the 66L and still hit me with their next attack by mashing L before I can punish
This is especially the case when they're sized like belial or lucius with their annoying neutral L legs. It's like there is no real negative frames in any condition 66L is used only positive.
And about 66L, I would love if it 'd get removed from the game haha or if it was -f on block and/or if you dodged it it had the same effect of a dodge on Raging Strike for a BIG punish and risk haha
dawg why are fighting games moving BACKWARDS? no wifi indicator is some silly shit that should be there automatically in any fighter
Wouldnt want to offend anyone would we?
they should make this a tag game all your complaints sound like a good time in that type of game lol but good video either way
This reminds me of drive rush but worse I at least can stuff you on reaction but 66l is stupid you can’t react to at least make it to where if you dodge it you can take your turn back
I'm usually not a guy who departs mid-match.
I the replay also you cant go back or pause the replays (i think) also
$9.99 for a costume wild
Modern gaming has fallen of in general in terms of monetization as well as patch culture
Also Get saved through Jesus Christ God bless
yo can you drop that 66L song LMAO
@@SH1NK1R01 It was pretty much true but just exaggerated that's fair
The problem with 66L is that there are hardly any non risky ways to deal with it where enemy doesn't have adv. GC works but now ur more likely to get ToD'd, DP works but they can block as they are +, you can crouch weak/medium but that's more so you countering the moves that come out after 66L unless it's their very first attempt at 66L mid screen where there is a dash start up
Just because you and I can counter it, doesn't mean it's balanced, what's unbalanced about it is that the options to counter are mostly risky and highly advantageous for the 66L user unless the person somehow messes up 66L pressure
no mulitplayer co op D:
I think 66L being positive on block could be okay if it was more minus on hit. Currently its +6 on Hit so most characters can combo into close 5M. I'd reduce it down to +4 on Hit so its only a pressure tool and not also a combo starter. This change could justify nerfing Brave Counter since brainless 66L corner pressure won't be quite as scary.
This is true and annoying imo takes away people from using other options
The battle pass was $6 dollars and it can be completed in like a few days, I actually really like the battlepass
my issue is why do you love life if you tech a throw or guard cancel? That makes no sense, like you mentioned in your video if your opponent is low on life you guard cancel them you can put them in a chip kill check mate. Why do you lose life if you tech a throw lol nah man
I think the lack of info before playing them is fine. Guard Cancel is also fine.
Maybe I'm the only one who likes the Ultimate Skills. That's coming from a Percival player who has no neutral skip Ultimate hhhh.
eeh IMHO ultimate skills are ok but they really shouldn't refund considering how good they are. 66L is kinda scrubby but not a big deal.
otherwise agree. and I'd add that the canned mixup autocombos should cancel into SOMETHING cause those things are useless.
fuck the battlepass tho.
Bro this is the problem with 2B she is literally broken.
neutral skip? aint this man a DNF Duel advocate? lol. Anyway I dont have an issue with guard break because the beginners will mash that and I already know imma bout to do mad damage on you now. In fact people are starting to bait out BP just to get them to zero so they can kill em. We have balance issues
