John Daly, Thanks for the video it was lovely. I was born in Kiskeam in The Lane and I am coming back for a visit in late August, hope to meet up with John Murphy and my cousin Mary Ann, I will also be showing my grandson how I enjoyed myself when I was 11 Years old. Shame Martin the Shamrock is not there to share we had great times together. RIP.
Thanks; I saw my first cousin and my aunt in the shop (CT Murphy's) my great-grandfather founded in the nineteenth century in this video. Dad worked there in the late thirties and the forties, before coming to the states in '49. I was there in '93 myself, and met a fellow named Neilie Nolan (sic) who I'm sure is dead by now. I remember my grandfather was considered a bit of a hero there due to some exploits of his during the 1916 conflict
Oh the vid before was about the rock. However kiskeam is earth in heaven in heaven. Fabulous people. That part of cork. I have been living in NY for over 30 year now these vids bring a tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. As a child we would spend the summer at the rock with our uncles. From time to time I run into people from that part of heaven. One day I’ll be buried wit my family overlooking the fail.
Yes Jeremiah - of all the villages i went into, Kiskeam has to be among the best. Your words confirm this. Thank you for your comments, they mean a lot. Tony
