We bought an old property in the countryside of Ontario Canada which we are renovating & transforming into our home and retreat, to share with others who want to experience country living without moving to the countryside!

A free spirit country girl, I felt couped up in the city for too long, I seemingly convinced my husband to move to the countryside. In the Summer of 2015, we made the move!
We sold our city property and bought a fixer upper in the countryside of Ontario and have been fixing it up ever since.
My dream is to transform the 1 acre property into a cottage garden retreat; with flower gardens, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, vines, shrubs and DIY structures.

You surely had a busy day in the kitchen and got lots accomplished. You remind me so much of myself. I do all the things you do that make my family hold their heads and laugh, like saving and using bread bags for storage. Waste not want not, right? Last year I tried to grow Viking potatoes in grow bags and was surprised at how well they did growing in such a small space. Going to try them again this year. I also bought a pressure canner two years ago and have been staring at it and thinking "are you going to explode if I use you?" But I think the time has come this year when we really have to use the canner. I love the idea of toasting the oats and adding the other ingredients. I will give that a try. No more buying boxed granola. Thanks for all the ideas, much appreciated.
