Helmets actually are a lot more dangerous to wear when riding broncs. You're supposed to keep your chin tucked, and the whiplash with a helmet can cause you to break your neck. Not only that, but in the event that you get kicked in the head or something, the helmet will keep spinning, and your head won't. The helmet is just dangerous in both bareback and saddle bronc riding.
Nolan Gillies I'd like to get more input from more riders. I hear the same stuff from motorcycle riders that do not like to wear helmets. Properly fitted helmet and neck protectors in my opinion can be a real asset in safety.
+Doug DiPlacido I'm a Bronc rider and dirtbiker. The people who don't wear helmets on a motorcycle just haven't been in accident and don't know the importance. It is true that Broncs buck higher than bulls so u don't want to get whiplash or I've known people who died because of a helmet when they broke their neck due to whiplash
