    The number of six packs you can fit in your book bag is the #1 question all college students living on a dry campus ask.

    how does the bottom of the bag feel? has it got some padding there too? Just incase you put your bag with laptop on the ground that if it's raining it won't get inside the bag too easily and that your laptop won't get damaged by putting it on a hard surface.

    • @RushfasterTV
      @RushfasterTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! The base of the bag is reinforced with a 1680D Ballistic Nylon at the base to handle tough surfaces and drops. It features a floating laptop sleeve meaning that it's raised in the backpack so that it sits well above the base of the bag to protect it from drop impacts and the like.
      You can find more in-depth details about the bag on the Rushfaster links featured in the videos. Hope that helps! :)

    Hi sir, I'm planning to get myself a spacious travel backpack. Which of these 2 North Face Recon & Borealis backpack should I buy?

    • @RushfasterTV
      @RushfasterTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Sir :)
      Either backpack will do an excellent job as a travel backpack. Personally, I'd recommend the Recon as it has a slightly bigger storage capacity (31 litres where the Borealis sits at 28 litres). And the bungee cord system might not be all that useful during travel as you'd want to secure gear inside the bag as opposed to the outside (depends where you're travelling I guess).
      Other than that, almost all other features are shared between both bags!
      Hope that helps,
      - Ed.

    Does anyone know if the recon has the laptop sleeve elevated like the surge backpack? In the surge the sleeve is about 5 cm above the bottom of the bag, so your laptop won't hit the ground when you put the bag down. I just can't find the feature in any review of the recon.

    im looking to replace my 8 yr old recon and the one thing I notice is the side bottle compartments look smaller. I usually walk around with a shaker bottle in them and not sure it would fit without being too tight and working away at the liner real quick.

    How many 2 inch binders can fit in thier

    • @RushfasterTV
      @RushfasterTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bag's side width measures at 9.45 inches. So for the main compartment, you should be able to fit about 2 (and possibly 3) A4 2inch binders. You might need to loosen the compression straps to really let the bag reach its full capacity.
      Hope that helps! :)

    The North Face Recon vs Thule Crossover Backpack 32L ¿Which of the two are better?
    please recommend

    • @RushfasterTV
      @RushfasterTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there Waly, we - don't stock Thule - but they make great backpacks. Comparing the two backpacks, I'd say that the North Face Recon by far is a better backpack. It provides smarter organisation capability, it's construction materials are of a higher quality, and the ergonomic design and accessibility really shows itself in the Recon much more than we can see in the Crossover.
      Additionally - there are a few features in the Recon that really make it stand out. The padded laptop sleeve is a suspended fleece-lined and padded laptop sleeve that houses up to a 15" laptop and sits well above the base of the bag to protect it from drop impacts or when you put it down on the ground. To protect the base even further the material on the bottom of the bag is a heavy-duty, reinforced 1680D Ballistic Nylon. The laptop sleeve also serves as a hydration bladder sleeve that allows drinking access via the tube port at the top so you can take this bag on hikes too (but you have to use your own hydration bladder for this). North Face have really thought into the ergonomics of the bag and you can see it by how technical the shoulder straps and backpanel are. The Recon features what North Face calls their "FlexVent Suspension System" which features compression injection moulded adjustable shoulder straps that are contoured to best rest on your shoulders, they create innovative flex zones that alleviate clavicle hot spots, pressure-point strain and neck pain. Meanwhile the backpanel is heavily padded and has a breathable mesh and a central airflow channel for maximum support and ventilation. Like all North Face bags, the Recon comes with accreditation from the American Chiropractic Association certifying that they've been engineered to carry the heaviest of loads.
      We have more info on the Recon here: rushfaster.com.au/product/the-north-face/recon-15-laptop-backpack-tnf-black/12100/
      From the two bags you've mentioned, I would strongly recommend The North Face Recon.
      Check the links in the description to see where you can buy one.
      Hope that helps :)

    No, no, no, the straps are NOT well-padded. I took a Recon on a trip, and they were the most painful straps I have ever experienced. I got so frustrated that I just cut the straps off when I got home. I can't see anyone carrying beer or books with those straps. It's a shame because I loved everything else about the Recon: perfect size for under airline seats, generous side pockets, mesh pocket for a light jacket or sweater, strong fabric and zippers. I could not find any other backpack with all of these features. I will either sew on replacement (military) straps or make my own.

    • @RushfasterTV
      @RushfasterTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dang that sounds like a terrible experience! It's so unusual that the Recon would actually cause pain on you - the backpack ergonomics in all their bags are really thoughtfully designed and equipped with the best kind of materials (the shoulder straps are padded with injection moulded memory foam!)
      Could this have been an older version of the bag? Or perhaps the bag was loaded with too much weight?
      Either way, glad you like all the other aspects of the bag! :)

      Yeah they do share a lot of similar features, but the Recon comes with a lot more added features which contributes to its overall price and quality (and popularity). The Jester doesn't have:
      - Removable waist belt for added stability
      - Extensive FlexVent backpanel & shoulder strap support system (similar, but much more support than the Jester)
      - Separate dedicated laptop compartment (Jester has it in the main compartment)

    Recon vs Borealis . Which better? Please answer me

    • @RushfasterTV
      @RushfasterTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A lot of people ask this question - basically the Recon and Borealis are identical apart from some small features. The Recon's capacity comes to 31 litres, where the Borealis only comes to 28. The Borealis features a bungee cord system at the front for attaching bits and pieces and good for stashing something quick that won't slip out. The Recon also features a stash pocket at the front but its more a mesh sleeve that can be unclipped. Very similar purposes for each. If you're looking for a backpack that has more of a slimmer / minimal silhouette then get the Recon, if you'd like a more outdoorsy / camp-vibes look - get the Borealis. But functionally - they share almost all the same features.
      Hope that helps! :)
