    I just backed it. I hope you guys try a steam engine someday.

      Thank you my friend!! With enough demand, we will make it someday!

      I might wait until then. is there such a thing as a person who only likes steam engines when it comes to rail? well thats me. Electric and Diesel Electric never tickled me that much except maybe some of the monsters like the Iron ore trains and stuff.

      @@JasonBlack66 I'm in the same boat, actually. The movement of that valve gear is simply hypnotic. Elegant yet powerful displays of mechanical power.

    learned about the 2.0 kickstarter and am printing an F7 A right now. this looks like a fun project.

    This sounds like a perfect middle-ground between PowerTrains toys and real model trains

    Actually this is an amazing concept, if these started to be made as purchasable sets. Im certain affordable model railroading will skyrocket. I am glad people can make their own models! Any plans on trying models with moving parts? Like american 0-6-0 locomotives? Honestly these look well made! How much in materials does it cost to produce a small train set?

    • @RamBrosWorkshop
      @RamBrosWorkshop  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your kind words! The running train you see in the video is around 1.5kg of material and the track layout is 350g of material, about $30 in filament cost

    I'm interested in backing but where do I find information to power the trains? Like I get it would be batteries but your instructions don't mention anything about this part assembling this area.
    Where would I need to go to learn this?
    Thanks

      There is a diy option and custom PCB option. Detailed manuals will be provided after the kickstarter
      Here's the PCB design if you're interested: oshwlab.com/rambros/rambros-tracklink

    S scale is so underrated
    thank you for choosing that as your size of choice
    Also are these models battery or electricly operated?

    • @RamBrosWorkshop
      @RamBrosWorkshop  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We actually tried HO scale, but it was a bit unreliable for FDM printing. So S scale was the obvious choice
      They are powered by 18650 Li-ion cell, Wireless control

    How difficult would 3d printing decent looking steam locomotives in this style be? Like including full connecting rods and such

    • @RamBrosWorkshop
      @RamBrosWorkshop  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We are looking into it, as more people are interested in it,
      It is very complex to design when compared to a diesel electric locomotive

    Would you be willing to port these over to ho or o scale? I honestly would love to print all of them but can’t justify getting into another scale

    • @RamBrosWorkshop
      @RamBrosWorkshop  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We are considering to port these to G scale, as there is enough demand for it, We can consider O scale, if the is enough demand, but Ho scale will require a 0.2mm nozzle on a fdm printer or a resin printer

      You have to modify the Bogies with a different motor, everything else can be scaled up 200% directly

      Hey kid, we started with Lego models when we were kids. We made trucks, cars with that - we didn't have Lego trains😆
      If you want to get into 3D printing, just get a basic 3d printer and start printing random stuff from thingiverse. You'll get the hang of it soon.
      At least thats how we got into 3d printing
