One time in middle school i was trying to draw rottweilers sitting down and someone asked if i was drawing a black person. Like i know im bad at drawing but i didn't think i was that bad😭.

While your mistake in fourth grade is mortifying, it's also hilarious. Everyone has at least one moment where they make the most uninformed choice, and it's a blessing when there is little harm done, and even better if you're still young at the time.
One thing I'm curious about, I wonder if when kids use a color that is nowhere close (in name or color) to human skin color, if that's a problem? If they're trying to match and can't, of course, that can be examined. But I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on if or why it matters if a kid uses a different color entirely.

I agree, I’m happy that experience happened when I was young. I like that you reframed it as hilarious, even though I’m hard on myself, I was just a kid doing kid stuff
It’s really common for kids to color using completely random colors, especially if they are new to coloring. If I hadn’t of been strict with my kindergarteners many would have happily picked up random crayons without any thought. Drawing, coloring etc is a skill that must be taught, so I don’t see it as a sign of a deeper issue. I’m wondering if anyone else has a difficult perspective on this though…
