Some I’ll know, and some I won’t, but I like to give a good cross section of music that drops each week. I hate the box sets where they put the vinyl and cds together. Put out a vinyl version and a CD version of the box set. That VH live album would be cool to have but I’m not paying $136 for it just to get an album I already own, a live album that I want and vinyls I’m never going to listen to.
Does anyone else feel these box sets are being overdone now? I remember when bands would release a box set it would be something special, now they’re just being cranked out one after another.

Brandon, I know you mentioned getting the two CD Lennon mind games ultimate mixes what's with disc one 90 tracks most them 24 seconds and doesn't look like any material on there. Any clues if so, let me know.
I agree I like the box sets that are in the long boxes.
1989 - 2003 is the classic box set era. For vinyl nuts like ME, we want all those old ones replicated on vinyl. I'm not a cd fan at all, but I do enjoy cd boxsets. Would enjoy them MORE on vinyl
I agree totally. 2 versions should be available. I benefit more with CDs of music. I grew up with vinyl. When cds came out, I was like, YES, a format that is compact and easy to store. My collection of cds just kept growing and growing. I love music and always will, but do not get into the cash grap stuff. I do enjoy rare tracks and will purchase them at a reasonable price.
Can never get enough of those 80s metal throwback bands. Palace, Spektra, and Atlantis Drive are all killer albums

Looked on the Styx and Foreigner websites....just a vinyl set with signatures etc. Guess us cd fans will have to wait patiently. Hope you get some record store time this weekend.

Hi did purchase the Van Halen box set. Me being a huge Van Halen fan. I had doughts about buying it. To be honest i didn't feel like it was worth it but I did it anyways. I do wish they were a cd version. I dont know why they didn't produce one. The cost would be a lot less to produce and they would sell more. I guess i am more a cd fan than a vinyl fan.

Very interested in checking out Palace. Just listened to the title track (‘Reckless Heart’) and it reminded me of Stan Bush. It’d be great to get a video on your Top 10 favorite AOR bands/albums. You could even do separate videos for the 80s and 90s. THX, Brendon!
I'd say that Stan Bush is a pretty spot on comparison - very consistent stuff
Yeah I actually talked myself out of the John Lennon box, though I have seen it unboxed and that book is amazing I can’t spend 160 bucks for a book and 6 cds of the same song different ways, as much as I love Lennon, this was always an average album to begin with, so I am going with the 2cd at some point. The Styx live I’ve had for about month now streaming I love Styx but they have eight million live things out there, and they do only one new song from the last album on the live set, the band sounds great, but I’m not crazy about Foreigner so maybe at some point if it pops up somewhere, but the vinyl I have seen already going for 50$ and up and just not worth it especially for live stuff. A release I had hoped to pick up was Megan Maroney who is a rising artist though considered country she has a lot of songs that can be called pop and rock, great to see her jump right back out there with a full length album, last one was May 2023 and now another full length a year later. But as always headed into Barnes and Noble in Union Square and not there with new releases, had to ask they seemed puzzled at first then looked it up they had one and it sold. Crazy how stores are almost burying themselves with not looking into what is coming out and the artist. When Dua Lipas debut hit America same incident actually found one copy in Barnes and Noble in TriBeCa (now closed down). I will say that now in Barnes and noble there are about five times more vinyl then cds so definitely not the place to come for cds I was looking for vinyl and they didn’t even have that as a new release. So everyone seems to be pushing people to Amazon.

The "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" box set, I don't like how the live show isn't on a Vinyl, I'd be paying essentially 70 USD for a CD and Blu-Ray if I got it, as the Vinyl is like 30 standalone, and the CD would go unused by me.
Shame imo, just make TWO
The thing about bands that don't want to tour anymore - I'm not sure why a band wouldn't just do one big show, live for those who buy tickets and go, but pay-per-view around the world, and then later release a concert blue-ray for everyone to buy. There's no reason to tour if they don't want to but they can still do a big live show.
It's slowed down a lot since early June, but this week I got three new: Legions Of The Night, Orden Ogan (really enjoyed this one,) and Palace
