This came up in my feed today. I'm a younger man, and I have a passion and what I believe to be a call to Japan. I've had a lot of "god-cidences" and other things that point me to Japan, my experiences, my interests, my regrets, even my studies in college... But I am a human being with doubts and struggles, and at times I still wonder, even when I try and stumble to learn the language. I wrestle with self-doubts and wonder if I'm really qualified, but I know that God calls the unqualified and qualifies them for his glory. You don't know me or my story, but if you see this and are able to do so, please pray for me in this time. Thank you for sharing this video and these parts of your story, it has been a comfort today.
I also have been thinking that maybe God has called me to serve in Japan, my family from my grandmother side is from there. I'll be praying for you brother!
I'll be praying for you my friend! Japan has been on my mind and heart recently as well, and I have a strong desire to become a Missionary for Japan. But like you, I have doubts and fears. And their language Is one of the hardest to learn from what I've heard (and even seen as I stumble through learning hiragana lol.) But like you said, God can take the Unqualified and show His glory through us! And I think something that is always good to remember is never let you passion die out, and that the enemy often tries to use our fears and doubts to discourage us from the path the Lord wants for us. God bless you friend, and I pray that God guides your path always. (Exodus 3) (Judges 6:11-27) (Jeremiah 1:6-9)
Jesus commissioned his disciples. He said, "Go!" He also told them "... teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded. That would include the command to "Go!" If you wonder if you should be a missionary then I encourage you that you've already been called -- and since it's on your heart and mind then the spirit is already moving you to do so. You just need to go. Man makes his plans but the Lord directs his steps. He will lead you to where you need to be but you need to commit your way to him.
wow that was great word. I am not a full time missionary yet. But have a passion and heart for Uganda. And after 3 trips it is greater and many Ugandans have said they want me there!!
Great to hear that! I visited Uganda for a week during Bible college and it was quite the experience! It’s cool that you have Ugandans saying they want you to come back. For me having Japanese people say that was a great help in confirming my sense of calling.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! God gave us the call in the great commission so that's not a question. But it's hard to steer a moving ship! Gotta move forward at some point and let God direct your paths. (Prov 3:5-6) Thank you for being a missionary in Japan! Maybe someday we'll be able to visit Japan.
Well if do get a chance to come across, let me know! Thanks for sharing. Yeah, I totally agree with moving forward. I wonder if the ‘push on some doors’ imagery that we are so used to is unhelpful in that it gives a rather static impression when, as you say, we should really be letting God direct us as we walk forward.
Totally agree. I think if more churches took seriously the command to be involved with making disciples of all the nations and were pro-actively sending people, then the conversation about ‘missionary calling’ wouldn’t even need to exist.
So blessed to have this video pop up in my suggestions! Thank you so much for the advice, Levi :) I do have a question - what advice would you give to a young Christian woman who wants to be a missionary but isn't sure of where to go? I've wanted to be a medical missionary for as long as I've been saved but never felt a burden for any one place in particular like you mentioned in your video. Would love to hear your thoughts. God bless!
Hey Stephina, glad youtube suggested my video to you! And thanks for the question. That’s a great question, and one that I think I will need to make a video to answer properly. I will add that to my ‘to make’ list and try to get something up soon for you.
Hey Levi what a special store that you're sharing, I'm actually from Ukraine but I been in Asia for almost four and a half years now I'm home in America and just so thankful that God can use anybody whatever race whatever background you've been in God can use anybody. I just wanted to ask if you're able to do maybe one thing on maybe financial goals or finances or something like that that would help people cross-culturally to understand the balance between using the credit card and walking in faith!
Hey Jon, thanks for the message. Yeah I’m also super thankful for how God uses us with all our different backgrounds and everything. I have been thinking about doing a video on finances at some point. It’s definitely a topic that we can’t ignore but I’m just trying to make sure I’m clear on what/how to say!
Everyone who knows the Gospel is born again and preaches Christ Crucified is called to share the Gospel You don’t need missions you can start locally If you are called for missions you will be in missions like Jonás in the whale couldn’t run from his calling The US needs missions because Christianity is so deluded it has gone from take up your Cross and follow me to God has a purpose to give you your best life and the desires of your heart and as a bonus a Lamborghini When you are called by God you will know for sure no sideways message Im called to endure trails and tribulations discernment is a gift and intercede for others And clean my room and have my house in order my family children before I can go out and witness I share what I have learned and dig up from his word but I always do it being honest about my addictions shortcomings failures I don’t show something I’m not I share what it is like to walk and grow and learn from him My walk with God is suffering is death after death after death is a process of santificación that is painful and beautiful 😍

Do we need a special "call" when we already have a command? "Go into all the world..."
Totally agree. I think if more churches took seriously the command to be involved with making disciples of all the nations and were pro-actively sending people, then the conversation about ‘missionary calling’ wouldn’t even need to exist.
Yes, i agree we are commanded already, as Christians we are all missionaries, staring where you are already.
Thanks man 🙏God bless
Hey, thanks for the comment. God bless you too!

the biblical pattern seems to be acts 13:2 "the Holy Spirit said set apart Barnabas and Saul" and acts 13:4 so being sent out by the Holy Spirit
