Is there any effect in CO2 injection when there is so much surface agitation? Yes I know some gaseous exchange is good even when you are injecting CO2, but the water here is basically dripping all the way down the emersed section, and the injected CO2 would be gassing off every cm along the way

So i have one of these tanks, and I've experimented with and without CO2... im guessing that while you are correct that CO2 will leave the water quicker, my submerged plants clearly prefer CO2. Two reasons.. the water flow is relatively low, so the gass off is probably slower than you expect, secondly you can easily increase the amount of CO2 to get back to the ideal range

Adjust the flow of water from the pump to be lower it will help mist more
