      Kinwick? Toushee? Winachee? Really... Did you go to school, dude? Obviously you didn't get off your butt to do any research. Kennewick, Richland and Pasco are also known as the Tri-Cities! It's the best place to live in the entire State! Rent is affordable and jobs are easy to get. You can grow anything! 5 cuttings of hay, 4 of alfalfa abundant fruits and veggies in the summer. We were never hungry in the 20+ yrs I lived there! I now live in Idaho but I would take Kennewick over Spokane anyday! Spokane is a sheet whole! Dirty, crime ridden and high priced, I won't drive my car in Spokane! You don't hear anything much about the Tri Cities because they are all busy working and having fun! You are an idiot liberal Portlander and I am done with your nonsense! Unsubbed!!!

    You MIGHT want to include pictures of the actual towns you're talking about! I have visited every single one of the towns you've mentioned and every single description is wrong except for the population numbers. In fact, I grew up 5 miles from Loon Lake WA and it's a nice town 30 minutes from hospitals and a much larger town. In my opinion, the 10 worst towns in WA are all on the West side, where most of the crime is; start from Seattle and work down from there.

      Totally agree. My dad doesn't live very far from Loon Lake, and I personally love it out that way. I'm in Thurston Co. WA (been here all my life) and I can assure everyone, that there are some really crappy small towns on this side of the mountains. Infact, I can think of more than 10 off the top of my head, as far as high crime & being rundown. Fort Lewis (which is very nearby) brings in a lot of riff-raff from all over the country. Not saying that all military are riff-raff of course, but most outsiders don't have the same respect or love of the area.

      Allowing the benefit of the doubt, nearly all these small towns are far better as places for someone to grow up compared to the urban shitholes along the Pacific coast and elsewhere. Yes Seattle was once nice, but even a crummy small town can provide a place where a young person has a better opportunity to choose independent thinking. Those small town schools btw are still mostly controlled by the big "educational" mafia. Shitcan the state control over the schools; replace them with private and charter schools, and they will almost all out perform the city schools with less expense.

    Pretty much every town you mentioned would be considered migrant worker towns. That is what the vast populations of these towns consist of. All of the farmers have homes out of town in the country. That is why test scores and income stats are so low. Majority don't speak English and go to migrant worker schools that probably don't report to agencies that track things like test scores or grades. Also most of the workers probably don't have reportable income so that skews the numbers quite a bit as well I'm sure.

    Most of these towns are just little farm towns where the low income laborers live. The people with the money are the farmers who live outside of town. Desert Aire is not even a town. It’s a little resort community on the Columbia River. Built around a small golf course that tends to stay open longer in the winter then the other golf courses in the area. Summertime is when Desert Aire is booming with water sports on the river and hot weather so it is popular with Westside residents (Seattle) escaping their cooler summer weather. Wenatchee is pronounced Wa gnat (like Nat King Cole) chee. It is really pretty easy to say

    Even the places you posted though are still gorgeous! And you had to REALLY REACH to insinuate any of these are bad places to live. Better than ALL of Oregon.
    Dude. "Some kind of damn there..." You obviously have never been here. The Rock Island damn (and the Rocky Reach damn north of Wenatchee, are two of the largest dams in the world, spanning one of the largest rivers on the continent, and producing most of the hydro-electricity in the PNW. Seriously, even an inebriated 11 year old knows that.
    "What's going on in Washington" is that we produce about 1/4 of the food that this country eats. But if you knew anything about geography, that would be obvious to you.

    • @bricefleckenstein9666
      @bricefleckenstein9666 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While Rock Island and Rocky Reach are both large dams, they're producing perhaps 15% AT MOST of the Hydropower from the Columbia River.
      Don't forget the Grant Coulee (produces about 3x as much power as RI and RR COMBINED), and all the OTHER large dams on the Columbia.
      The Grant Coulee barely makes the world's Top 10 list (by power production), RI and RR are perhaps Top 50 at best but IIRC more like "barely Top 100" in the world.
      P.S. - most of my power comes from the Priest Rapids and Wanapum dams, which are collectively HIGHER power production (though not by a lot) than the combined production of the Rocky Reach and Rock Island dams, and also on the Columbia.

As far as age goes, Moses Lake doesn't have the specialists that are needed for advanced ages so that alone may discourage the older generation from wanting to live here, hence the stats.

    I reside in The Yakima Valley. It's where all of your apples come from. It's a huge agricultural area. The sun actually is out over 205 days per year. Three times the sun than rainy Seattle. It gets 4 distinct seasons. April through October is nice. It can get to triple digits in summer. There are some great mountains only an hour away. Camping, fishing, hiking, hunting all close to town without fighting big city traffic to get there. Mount Rainier is nearby. It's only 2.5 hours to get to Seattle, 3 hours to Spokane, 3.5 hours to Portland. We have outstanding Mexican food of all types. The best parts of the Valley are outside of town. Beautiful farms all around. The City of Yakima itself has a lot of crime. The downtown is seedy. West Yakima has much lower crime, and nicer neighborhoods.

    There is no such place as North Moses Lake. That area used to be an Airforce Base and is referred to now as The Base. It is simply an area of Moses Lake. It is also mostly low income housing or first time home owners. That explains the ages. And many areas of The Base are just fine.
    So before you tear apart these small towns I suggest you get off your couch, drive over the mountains and actually VIST them. "Some kind of dam", I wouldn't look at it so bad because the energy you used to make this video has a high likelihood of coming from there.
