      I almost bought shock upgrade but not yet. I do have some alternative wheels coming that I can experiment with later.

    Just got a Mini-Z 4x4 Land Rover and was upset for the huge amount of torque twist for a 250€ rig. So, what's your conclusion? Did the metal front axle eliminated the twisting? Thanks for your great and informative video 👍

      Thanks. The first thing to try is loosening the screws that close the two halves of the axle housing, both in the front and rear. If the torque twist decreases (it did for me), try retightening the screws while testing if torque twist starts happening again. This alloy housing was good for this too but not necessary to solve the twist problem.

      @@sammybaka I already did that between the posting and your answer after looking your video again. After loosening up the screws on the rear axle the torque twist is now much more less than before. Thanks again! I would like to know how the kyosho oil shocks perform, but they are rather expensive and I don't like the fact they're only available red anodized. I would prefer black or grey just for scale looks

      @@RC-Overkill That's great. I don't have experience with oil shocks on the 4x4. i think there are third party ones that are oil filled and in different colors. For me i don't think oil shocks are necessary on a mini crawler.

      @@sammybaka Yeah, you're probably right. Maybe i will leave my mini Land Rover in box stock configuration

    Can this part be used on the rear as well?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It'd be nice to have this option but unfortunately not. The front axle contains steering elements like mounts for the knuckles and cvd. The rear axle is different.

      So I bought the extra speed version, but I'm having the same issue as you with the grub screws, except that extra speed don't provide a tool! What size hex drive is it? I can't remove it

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lsear2905 Oh no! i think it's 0.9mm or just a bit larger than that. i ended up using an 0.9 hex bit that tapered up (i.e larger) a little so that it gripped the hex hole properly.

      I just did a Yeah Racing front n rear metal axle upgrade and also stripped one of these 0.9mm set screws. What a pain! Used hobby snips to cut the screw out.
      I also had to sand my knuckles because they were binding when tightening the front axle housing all the way. Took some time to sort it all, but it was worth it. Now everything runs beautifully.

    • @sammybaka

      I haven't had any issue with those drive shaft joints. However, I haven't run this truck a lot yet.
