In my teens and twenties I kept looking for a guy who would be interested in a relationship. I found plenty, but they weren't interested in a relationship. So finally I was like, ok, then that's all my life will be, one guy to the next, that was until I got one of those little annoyances that come back every so often. I didn't go out for over six months! And I didn't miss it. The next guy I met, after a friend convinced me to go back out there, actually called me back. We were together for 13 years but it wasn't monogamous by any means. Even though I'm happily a Christian now, I've had two relationships that I didn't really ask for, or go looking for, for that matter. And I can tell you, Christ fulfills. I'm not proud to admit it but I had a few one night stands myself. (it usually took me about a week and a half to figure out it was a one night stand) .Talk about exhausting!!!. Nolan attempts to dress her experiences up as some grand exercise in intellectual gymnastics. What she doesn't yet realize is that the day will come when she is not so intrigued by the idea of having frivolous sex.....and why?? Because as she gets older she will realize that the fella she wants to engage in frivolous sex with wants to engage with someone younger then her. This moment is extremely humiliating and painful and is a direct by-product of casual sex that books Sex and the Single Girl and The Feminine Mystique never get around to explaining.
I think it’s very lonely being single, God knew this and created marriage as a gift. Friendships are not the same, even if their Christians. But our society is telling everyone to put career first instead on f family. If we placed family first people would not have to wait so long to have have sex as they could enjoy in marriage .

Hi Becket!! I’m so happy that I found you and your channel! I can see how much you love the Lord and you explain things so very well. I can relate to this. I lost my husband to a car accident when I was 26 with 3 children. I loved Jesus and prayed and prayed with my kids but I never read the Bible, I found it hard to grasp and left it at that. Through my grief and shock I started looking for love in all the wrong places. I always was a one man girl, always faithful but now on my own I became promiscuous and tried to fill that spot in my heart but I ALWAYS felt empty the next day. This continued for years until about 6 years ago The Lord got my attention and I started to learn about him, about the Bible and slowly my faith grew and my hunger for more of Christ grew. Praise Jesus. So I am single and made the decision to be celibate and I feel such peace with that. Who knows what God has in store for me but I am happy to live for him. I love that the love of God is in you and that you’re compassionate towards her. She’s in the grip of Satan who’s trying to kill her or at the very least, destroy her life. She pointed out legal inequalities and the pervasive view of women, which was restrictive limited, and damaging. Women did not have legal equality and were encouraged to suppress and ignore their talents and abilities. It's not about promiscuous sex.

Before the lockdown hit myself and a friend were working on a documentary about sex and porn addiction in society and what you said about people bowing down and worshipping at the alter of sex is true. I've realised that Sex is a gift from God to be experienced between a man and his wife within the confines of a marriage covenant and Making this documentary has made me see how sacred and mysterious sex is, and how destructive it can be once the confines God gave to protect people, have been breached. I only became a Christian 5 years ago and when I did give my life to God, I knew I could no longer live the life of casual sex and sexual activity outside of marriage. The thing is I dont even know if I want to be married, Im unsure, which means Im staring down the barrel of living the rest of my life celibate. But what you talke about, in relation to his grace is enough.........I've experienced this first hand. Its no big deal to me now if I never have sex again, I have God and that joy you mentioned, thats not dependent upon any external circumstances, I have that too and every day Im grateful to God for his grace. In my teens and twenties I kept looking for a guy who would be interested in a relationship. I found plenty, but they weren't interested in a relationship. So finally I was like, ok, then that's all my life will be, one guy to the next, that was until I got one of those little annoyances that come back every so often. I didn't go out for over six months! And I didn't miss it. The next guy I met, after a friend convinced me to go back out there, actually called me back. We were together for 13 years but it wasn't monogamous by any means. Even though I'm happily a Christian now, I've had two relationships that I didn't really ask for, or go looking for, for that matter. And I can tell you, Christ fulfills. A few moments of pleasure does not. I hope she finds the true joy of Love for the Savior.

Megan Nolan offers up an extremely juvenile notion about what it is like when a person chooses NOT to engage in frivolous sex.She lacks any understating of what that experience is actually like. She wants to insinuate that being celibate is just white knuckling it, and crying into your pillow every night, Nothing could be further from the truth. I was single with a CAPITAL C for eight yeas before I met my husband. I become a Christian and had become profoundly disenchanted with the weird Kabuki Dance they call "dating" in Los Angeles. I'm not proud to admit it but I had a few one night stands myself. (it usually took me about a week and a half to figure out it was a one night stand) .Talk about exhausting!!!. Nolan attempts to dress her experiences up as some grand exercise in intellectual gymnastics. What she doesn't yet realize is that the day will come when she is not so intrigued by the idea of having frivolous sex.....and why?? Because as she gets older she will realize that the fella she wants to engage in frivolous sex with wants to engage with someone younger then her. This moment is extremely humiliating and painful and is a direct by-product of casual sex that books Sex and the Single Girl and The Feminine Mystique never get around to explaining.

I think it’s very lonely being single, God knew this and created marriage as a gift. Friendships are not the same, even if their Christians. But our society is telling everyone to put career first instead on f family. If we placed family first people would not have to wait so long to have have sex as they could enjoy in marriage .
And if marriage is not God's will for you, you can give it all to God, and He will find for you a way for your love.

Hi Becket!! I’m so happy that I found you and your channel! I can see how much you love the Lord and you explain things so very well. I can relate to this. I lost my husband to a car accident when I was 26 with 3 children. I loved Jesus and prayed and prayed with my kids but I never read the Bible, I found it hard to grasp and left it at that. Through my grief and shock I started looking for love in all the wrong places. I always was a one man girl, always faithful but now on my own I became promiscuous and tried to fill that spot in my heart but I ALWAYS felt empty the next day. This continued for years until about 6 years ago The Lord got my attention and I started to learn about him, about the Bible and slowly my faith grew and my hunger for more of Christ grew. Praise Jesus. So I am single and made the decision to be celibate and I feel such peace with that. Who knows what God has in store for me but I am happy to live for him.

Great message! Gods grace is sufficient. As a divorced man in my 40s I have come to be satisfied in my relationship with God as being sufficient. I pray that I will find somebody to share my life with if that is his plan but if not I know that he is enough.

The lady who wrote the article is so confused. She refers to 'frivolous' sex as 'meaningful' and seems to slavishly tries to make these opposites somehow functional. You can hear how she is trapped in distorted and destructive beliefs and remains unsatisfied, in heart, body and soul. Only Jesus Christ fulfills. While I know the present state of our culture, I was both grieved and sickened by her article. I pray she finds Jesus. I have a single daughter in her 30's. I always pray that she love the Lord with all her heart, soul, mind and strength, and that God would send her a man that would love her as Christ loved the church. I cannot believe you would discuss Sex and the Single Girl and The Feminine Mystique in the same breath. They are profoundly different. Betty Friedan's book is not about casual sex. She pointed out legal inequalities and the pervasive view of women, which was restrictive limited, and damaging. Women did not have legal equality and were encouraged to suppress and ignore their talents and abilities. It's not about promiscuous sex.

Before the lockdown hit myself and a friend were working on a documentary about sex and porn addiction in society and what you said about people bowing down and worshipping at the alter of sex is true. I've realised that Sex is a gift from God to be experienced between a man and his wife within the confines of a marriage covenant and Making this documentary has made me see how sacred and mysterious sex is, and how destructive it can be once the confines God gave to protect people, have been breached. I only became a Christian 5 years ago and when I did give my life to God, I knew I could no longer live the life of casual sex and sexual activity outside of marriage. The thing is I dont even know if I want to be married, Im unsure, which means Im staring down the barrel of living the rest of my life celibate. But what you talke about, in relation to his grace is enough.........I've experienced this first hand. Its no big deal to me now if I never have sex again, I have God and that joy you mentioned, thats not dependent upon any external circumstances, I have that too and every day Im grateful to God for his grace.
