    I have Stage IV lung cancer and am going to die much sooner rather than later. I've just returned from Lourdes. I wasn't looking for a miraculous cure, but rather a reaffirmation of faith. I think that most people I saw there were looking for the same thing - a little peace in our time of suffering and hope that our faith in God and heaven is well founded. I believe it is.

    The vast majority of those making a pilgrimage to Lourdes seeking a healing, do not receive one. A good example is St Zelie Martin, the mother of the Little Flower, St Therese of Lisieux, who sought a cure of her cancer. But she became a saint recently. Many people in this situation, claim that they received another miracle. The strength to accept the cross that God has given them. So if you make a pilgrimage there, the beautiful thing is you never seem to come back from there empty handed

      @rags15061 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@LogicAndReason2025 Conscience self awarness DOESNT work without a brain...thats the point Im trying to make. On one hand I have 4000+ years of writings and events throughout history lending creedence to religion and on the other hand there is nothing. We humans think were much more mighty than we are but we're given any power that we do have from God. That power is conscienceness, which I don't think will ever be solved until you meet the Solver Himself.

      @@rags15061 I agree that conscious self-awareness (because self-awareness is what we are talking about) does not work without a brain. So what else is there? You can make things up, but made up things are virtually infinite. Yes we have 4000 years of writing, but those writings suggest only wild guesses, most of which we now know are wrong. That's called progress.

      Let it be known to all: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit!
      Hear me when I say, ye that are Catholic have been deceived and know not God. Ye worship Mary, praying to her; when God tells his to worship none other than him. It is idolatry.
      Catholicism has its own Bible and teachings, which are blasphemous to the word of God: the Holy Bible. As ye follow the teachings of man and not God; ye hear the pope, but not Jesus, yet ye claim to be his disciples!
      These are but a few things I named ye dwell within; there are many more. I tell you now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father!
      There are *NO* sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion. Who obey the Father and follow his will; not man's nor their own heart's. Unless you keep Jesus' commandments, think not the Holy Spirit will dwell within you!
      They who heed this message and did what was stated with an open heart to God...
      Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask:
      "Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen."
      Revelation 22:8-9 KJV
      8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
      9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
      Acts 2:38 KJV
      38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
      Luke 11:13 KJV
      13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
      John 14:21-24 KJV
      21 *He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.*
      22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
      23 Jesus answered and said unto him, *If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.*
      24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and *the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.*
      3 John 1:11 KJV
      11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. *He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.*
      1 John 3:6-10 KJV
      6 *Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.*
      7 Little children, let no man deceive you: *he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.*
      8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
      9 *Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.*
      10 *In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God,* neither he that loveth not his brother.

      @Eternally Catholic I’ve read the book of Luke many many times. I will never pray to Mary, or through Mary to get to the father. The father did not send his son, the Lord Jesus Christ only to then ask us to divert our attention away, and pray through Mary??? That was never His intent. Mary is an important, historical figure, but she is not deity, a “Saint” or anything else….and she offers no salvation to mankind. That was never her role. I will not pray to her for any reason.

    • @Forested-pz9cp
      @Forested-pz9cp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Eternally Catholic Jesus is not the “new Adam”. Jesus is the God of the Old Testament and in fact the creator and father of Adam himself and the creator of the whole earth we live on.
      “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
      10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not” John 1: 3,10
      “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ“
      Ephesians 3:9
      Jesus Christ is the single most important individual who ever walked the earth. Any variation or deviation to this is not valid. He is our creator and Savior. Any attempt to pray to other humans, saints, etc. is not advisable. The Lord Jesus Christ encourages us to go straight to the Father via Him (Jesus Christ)
      “These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
      2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
      3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
      John 17:1-3

    • @yltcraxe
      @yltcraxe ปีที่แล้ว

      We do both. And yes, I believe miracles do happen through intercession of saints. But we don't have to pray that way or as a substitute. Prayer directly to God is always the prime form. And in fact, even in cases of seeking intercession, it's all God's power and through God that the prayer is really happening. We just don't see death as dissolving the bonds of the body of Christ. I can pray for you now, and I may also continue to do so in heaven, if God wills it. Certainly we see the martyrs in heaven crying out for justice for the persecuted on earth in the book of Revelation.
      As far as Jesus being the new Adam., Yes that is one way of referring to Him. But of course He is also the second person of the Trinity incarnate in human flesh.
