Yeah that was awesome, I had to pause and check my eyes when he first appeared. 😅 I love how Sludge’s goofy google eyes are still there when Devastator whacks him too!
I can't help but restate how much I love this whole battle. While I have pretty much every word committed to memory, Springer's line is one of the ones from this movie that has always stuck out in my head. "I've got better things to do tonight than die!" Pure defiance and bitter determination, in spite of the odds.
It's an absolute classic line but not many people give Hot Rod the same credit for a later line when alone with just kup facing hundreds of sharkticons he tells him 'we can't hang on forever kup but we can give them one humongous repair bill' then instantly puts a sharkticons whole teeth out with one punch 👊. Absolutely awesome. Just Like how u perfectly summed up Springer's words - utter defiance against incredible odds and wanting to go down fighting!
@@martinholden9686 Absolutely! Even with being constantly backed into corner after corner, seeing the odds stacked so high against them, and being surrounded by nearly constant death of friends and comrades, the Autobots continued to be hopeful and defiant. Even the seemingly throwaway joke lines between Prime and Grimlock showed it. "Dinobots! Destroy Devastator!" "Me, Grimlock love challenge!" Even the Decepticons displayed the sheer persistence. They were determined to finally finish off the Autobots and the Autobots were determined to survive and defeat the Decepticons.
To have the entire movie like this would be an absolute dream, no matter how long it would take to remake it in this style that merges Stop-Motion with 2D animation. WR, if that dream ever became possible, and you got a team to help you along to do so? By all means, we need to make this happen because this is FANTASTIC!!
I can imagine Hasbro execs would shut that down, rather than encourage and support it. Personally, I feel if they would support it, they'd be doing the franchise and the fan base a real solid, allowing an alternate version of the movie. It's good when a franchise nurtures the fanbase, rather than taking legal steps to neuter it.
Can they nominate the original movie for an Oscar 40 years later? Superb animation, voice acting, and music. None of the cgi crap today can even compare.
CGI is just 3d animation, artists still have to design and create the assets just like traditional animation, you have to be incredibly skilled in art. Beast wars my absolute favourite transformers series is completely cgi and looks incredible for the 90s
What makes this great is not just the smooth stop motion work and the addition of moving facial features, but that we live in a time where you can get all of the (mostly) screen-accurate characters to even make this scene happen :D
#Never! It's a masterpiece of an animated feature. I still gets chills from certain moments! Hope they re-release it in theaters in 26, I'll *be* there!
I find the level of detail with the Decepticons scattering at 2:04 to be probably the most amazing part of this video though the whole thing is fantastic!
give it time... soon we will be able to type into MidJourney or ChatGPT - "recreate the 1986 Transformers animated movie as a modern live-action film, with a dark, gritty tone like Dune/Interstellar/District 9, with top-level realistic visual effects of the robots, cinemascope ratio 2.35:1" - sounds like fantasy - but I guarantee you it is only a short while away before we can do that!
@scott-richardson a live action version of the 86 movie is already questionable, but I'd take that a thousand times over any sort of AI generated transformers movie
We got Decepticons at the gates! Decepticons in the air! Decepticons inside the walls! Decepticons, Decepticons, Decepticons! If we beat them off the walls they're still in the air, if we shoot them out of the air they're still at the gates! So where does that leave us? Nowhere that's where!
The fact that you've managed to mask all of the figures into the scene so smoothly is amazing, I didn't even know something like this was possible until I saw your videos
THIS☝️ Hasbro/TakaraTomi NEED to produce something like THIS in full length, I’d say do the -WHOLE- *G1G2* continuity and some headmaster stuff too and watch the money just roll in. They could even run it as 15-minute segments with a funny-skit-retro Ad right smack dab in the middle, it’s a “WIN-cluster-bomb” just waiting to happen. BRO! They COULD even ADD in all the cut or deleted scenes!!!! If successful (it would be) they could/would/SHOULD do the other stories/media/shows/games in a stop motion film like THIS vid series here! It’s been a genuine joy to watch this series come together, can’t be easy or cheap, but it’s pretty darn EPIC without a doubt. GREAT work, lots of fun! Thanks for this, please do MORE!!!
I like that you put in Snarl, but still sprinkled some disrespect by just having him fall over. "All things considered, you did an amazing job, lad. Amazing!"
I’ve been waiting for this for 2 years and you did not disappoint! Amazing work as always! Loved that you included Snarl in this. Also loved the way you ended teasing Prime’s final stand. Part 4 will be AMAZING
I've watched this movie so many times I can recite the entire scrip from memory, but it took this video to show me that you could still see part of Devastator as the Decepticons are running towards the hole he made.
Fuqing outstanding! As we're in the 40th Anniversary year of the TF & are 2 yrs away from TF:TM's 40th, this is a perfect celebratory moment for this brilliance! As someone who saw this in a theatre 38 yrs ago, goose bumps! Bravo & 🍻, my man!
This is soooo much work, very well done! I love the attention to detail with the eyes glowing, also showing the ammo case when Springer is firing the launcher and not to mention Sludge's goofy eyes. I remember watching this on VHS when I was 5 and I rewinded the tape so many times that I ended up breaking the rewinder lol.
Great work always sends shivers down my spine when Devastator says "Prepare for extermination". I noticed that Reflector is missing in the battle, after all he became the 3 Sweep henchmen.
Sooooo Amazing! This is exactly how we as kids were seeing it in our minds. That Devastator transformation was soooo perfect! If only they had masterpiece Transformers like this in the 80s and 90s! This makes me want to buy them all now even though I can't afford it, LOL! Can't wait for the rest!

the smoothest stop motion transformers animation i have ever seen edit after looking at the channel i would LOVE to see the whole movie redone in stop motion
I realize that in Transformers Prime in episode 8 of season 2, the Nemesis Prime episode, Agent Fauller was listening to a remix of The Touch on his radio. A good reference to this scene.
Absolutely phenomenal work here 👍 well done. I love how you put Snarl back with the Dinobots! ❤ It was the thing that really annoyed me about the movie how they messed up missing out Snarl with the other Dinobots. Bugged the hell out of me as a kid cos i was a huge Dinobot fan.
My British ass spat out my tea when Sludge had the bug eyes near the end there. I always loved that moment in the original and instantly wondered if you would include it as the Dinobots were landing.

Love how even in Remakes Sunstreaker happens to be in two places at once. Here and the Roadblock Hot Rod smashed through. XD Always thought one should have been Sideswipe.
God Almighty as a Transformers fan and stop-motion animation enthusiast, I was clapping my hands and giggling like a child watching this throughout, pausing every key moments to see how you recreate the characters in those scenes perfectly with those figures, from their body movements down to their expressions. My *only* critique is that if you had color in the corpses of Wheeljack and Windcharger grey as they were in the movie it would have been even more amazing. Overall, exemplary work. Looking forward for more of your future works.
