I think I must have done something wrong, I am able to get through this, but I think I'm doing something wrong. I own the physical server I want to install this on, it is one of those 2U rack servers that you'd find in a server room at a corporation. It's physically in my house. When I follow these instructions and it gets to the point where it's installing everything from the website, shouldn't this be installing it to the hard drive where the VM is setup? Once it was done, Apache was not on my linux, neither was mysql, but php 7.4 was. This is all on a fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04. The part I didn't understand at all because I came from windows, is towards the beginning you connected via a terminal with something called 'ssh' to 'root@45.79.7.30. I didn't do that part because I didn't understand what it meant. I run my ubuntu through vmware 6.7 and just connect to vmware, then select the instance of ubuntu that's running and go to console and open it up, then I just opened the terminal and did the commands. Did skipping that "ssh" to root @ an ip address skip a part where aapanel would know WHERE to install this stuff? I am under the impression I did something wrong, surely that script was supposed to install everything on my vmware Ubuntu's hard drive? It seems like it installed on some companies server and I would access it like any host I would possibly pay for services. Where did everything actually get installed? It doesn't appear to have been installed on my system anywhere. Did I skip a crucial part that dictates WHERE the installation would be? The first sign I should have noticed that I may be in over my head is that I intended to install vesta not aapanel but hadn't noticed until it was done. I'll just load another ubuntu in vmware for vesta.
The act of my using ssh to login to a remove server is the same thing as you going into your vmware instance and opening the terminal there, so no you did not skip a step. As long as you are certain you are on the system that you need to be, you can issue your first command and skip the ssh part

The advantage of a web hosting control panel like aaPanel is that the user doesn't have to edit config files on the command line, but rather can configure the server/websites via the user interface. I always recommend web hosting control panels to the non-technical
@@TonyTeachesTech aaPanel is better in terms of Resource usage, Extensions and Better security. It has better Monitoring tools that can replace cPanel for those users who don't want to host their clients . Its getting better with each new update.
@@germandrivers aaPanel does have a nice UI. Last I heard of it was that you couldn’t create extra login accounts so clients can login, which would be a big downside. Again, this was around 2 years, not sure they changed it.

The A record must be the public IP address. If you're on a local network, you'll have to forward http/https ports (80/443) from the router to the computer's local IP address
Tony which one is more better multiple database single user or multiple database and multiple users Because when I hosted 5 wordpress sites on my server with multiple database and single user the MySQL was crashing all the time
From a security perspective, multiple databases and multiple users is better. If your server has sufficient resources, this is the best option in my opinion.

The A record must be the public IP address. If you're on a local network, you'll have to forward http/https ports (80/443) from the router to the computer's local IP address

You just need to Connect to internet & change https to http (and now your panel works & you can enter)
