    Good to see SVB being humble and giving a little joy to these mid-level amateur players like myself. I played 3 games like this against Efren before and I won't ever forget it, he got me 3-0 like that too. Great experience.

    Great shooting from both of them, and great commentary. I'd take this guy commentating with Jeremy Jones every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

    Just image svb walking into some random bar like this with a bunch of amateurs that don't have a clue who he is and playing money matches. That would be kinda fun to watch lol

    It's sad that a world champion like Shane needs to resort to playing amateurs for $50 to make a living when the top pro in golf makes Millions. I know he's a great guy and doesn't mind it but still.

      I totally agree with you! Now, please excuse me while I go on a rant. Lol
      The best in this sport are equal to the best in any sport! What these guys do takes more talent, time, focus, dedication and discipline than most any other sport.
      SPORT;
      an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment as amateurs, and for money as professionals.
      And when you're done crying about the physical exertion part, pick up your cue, hit the road and play every week- long tournament at every venue you can find , beating all the top players... then take your measley check at the end of the year, straighten yourself up, dust yourself off and go do it again...year after year after year.
      That's right...you can't. Because you have not got the talent, time, focus, dedication and discipline. But most of all!...
      you do not have not have the
      stamina or the endurance!
      It's a sport, folks....
      and this is one of the sports most elite players.
      ...sad.

      No joke, I’m missing my right leg and have a rod in my left leg. I gotta sit down after just playing an apa match lol. Has an affect on my game sometimes but I still enjoy playing.

    Good commentary! Where can I find more commentary from this guy?
    It's also kind of funny to see how easily pros demolish other players. 9 Ball is so easy for pros that it's yawn-inducing.

    I'm going to guess this cost him around $100. 😏
    Shane kicked my butt for the first time when he was 19 years old, and it's awesome to see that he's stayed humble and connected to his fans.

    • @bripslag
      @bripslag ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The commentator said the challengers were paying $50 per match. So I'm guessing SVB was making between $250 to $300 per hour.

      Yes you do get to keep it. He's just saying "pay" because the odds are astronomically low that someone off the street would beat a professional pool player.

    • @drnoise
      @drnoise ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not a fan of jump cues, either. Though I did think the novelty was cool in the 80's or 90's when folks were still using their regular stick to pull off jumps. Part of the game now, I guess.

    • @nickyoung3201

      There was no good kicks available

    • @charlieb308
      @charlieb308 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nickyoung3201 what? Kick top rail back down to corner pocket! That jump shot had 99% chance of launching ball off the table. With my lock idea you could pocket the ball and even have a chance cue ball goes behind 9.

    • @charlieb308
      @charlieb308 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drnoise I used to absolutely love watching women’s matches, Fisher vs Corr, safety battles were amazing, all kicking and kick safes, now women’s matches they use a jump cue every other shot, takes real skill out of game. It takes way more skill to be able to kick 2-3 rails, hit a ball then safe guy(girl).

    • @barrywhite5502
      @barrywhite5502 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@charlieb308 It also takes skill to jump and make shots but yeah, it has taken kicking skills away.
