ive always had this question abt scp-106-if he can teleport through walls and floors, isn’t he just contained by will? he could easily escape the facility by teleporting through the walls, so isnt he just contained by choice and breaches containment whenever?
its impossible to contain SCP-106, he indeed does breach containment when he feels like it (thankfully it's not like every two seconds though, he's usually dormant for up to 3 months) however certain materials can "slow" SCP-106 down and confuse him-such as highly complex or random structures
The foundation can’t contain him permanently, but they can slow him down and lure him back into containment. And he luckily is already very slow, preferring to chase one or two people before going into dormancy for months. So there’s a lot the foundation has working in their favor when it comes to 106
Actually, you can’t really contain SCP-106. You can slow him down, but not stop him. So luckily for the foundation, he breaches only every few months. And when he does, he mostly lures people into his pocket dimension and keeps them "alive". So in short, he can but he likes screwing with the foundation people.
I think they have a big metal box with giant magnets on it that uses electromagnetic currents to hover in the air. They turn off the power to make it touch the ground, lure him into the box with a screaming D-class, and then turn on the power to make the box float once he's inside. I think so long as the walls of the box aren't touching any other surface, he's more or less contained to either the inside of the box or his pocket dimension.
Lawrence. He got a war trauma which you can see in his dimention: Dead bird planes, shots, guns and seas of helmets. Everything just resembles WW1 front in even more nightmarish way
The annihilator prototypes were ment to be used in ww1 to break the trench stalemate. On 11 November 1918, the Annihilator prototypes were put into crates, sent to the docks in New York and were attempted to be sent to Allied troops in Europe; however, the war ended the same day just a few hours later and as such were never actually sent to Europe. As a result of this, the Annihilators remained in said crates and the docks for weeks on end until they were brought back to the factory. They were later renamed the Thompson
I mean, technically pineapples do eat you back, though not just specifically Italians Edit: I think I read that wrong (I thought it meant the pineapple pizza was eating Italians)
Then create an SCP account and let your thoughts flow but remember it takes a little bit of hardwork now than just a great idea compared to the days of series 1
but look, if you look at his clothes, they look like something a poor man would wear in the 1800s, further proving he is between 200 and 150 years old, so no, he couldnt be 106 years old, but just in case, make sure you dont buy him 106 candles, it will burn his already burnt clothes, just get those ones that are shaped like a number
Well if you go by the tale of the SCP known as the inevitable the quest of the Thief it turns out it depends on which SCP-106 entity you are talking about as according to the quest of the thief part of the Inevitable there are/were multiple SCP-106 entities through out the SCP-multi-verse all connected to a single immortal being. Which ironically goes with with what I now refer to as the ‘Rick and Morty show’ theory that it don’t matter what back story you use for an SCP because each multi-verse can come with its own story for certain SCPs
To prove my point, In inevitable quest of the thief the new 106 entity was a d-class clone that met the immortal 106 entity in what came to be realize is the quest of the thief insearcg of the heart of that entity to stop the inevitable
While Lawrence is a likely possibility, Lawrence left after him a spiral of teeth, and fell into a pit of the stuff that already existed. While the possibility is there, the old man doesn't do anything with teeth, and the complex structures confusing him wouldn't make sense, considering the bunkers or hospitals he was put into, that he would still have to navigate.
Hmm i think he is older than that, like when the old man was cross tested with scp-682,he tells scp-682 something about devil or something like that after scp 682 told the old man about suggesting the fruit to thr biblical adam and eve
I think it was before but I'm not entirely sure but the dr.scranton would actually be a good theory for who the old man is since he was thrown into basically something that changed him so he could be 106 and where ever he landed changed into the pocket dimension and changed him into the old man
No. The OP is correct. You can find proof on youtube and a full I MEAN FULL LENGHT tale on the wiki. Full explanation: Dr. Scranton was a very well respected doctor among the Foundation, for most of his inventions, example the Scranton Reality Anchor. However, during a test on an interdimentional machine designed to test the Humes level of other realities (in short words, Humes level is the level of logic/reality in a dimension, if you still don't understand, its nothing more than a value that Dr. Scranton needed to measure.) Anyways the machine fails and not only teleports the whole mechanism into a different reality, but also takes Scranton with him. So now Dr. Scranton is stuck in this dimension with the only source of light being the little red light on the Humes machine. The machine had a recorder in it, so you can find the entire story of his decent into madness on the wiki. Anyways, this reality is just, a big black space where not much makes sense. This is called SCP-3001. Some stuff makes sense and some doesn't. It's all quiet, no people in it, no light, no entartainment. A reality where not even physics or the 3 dimensions make sense. Dr. Scranton was stuck in the dimension for decades, almost a hundred years. Can you imagine the kind of emotional fuck up this human being went trough for more or less a hundred years? ALL DARK, NO ONE TO TALK TO, ONLY HIM AND THE LITTLE RED LIGHT IN THE DARK UNLOGICAL SPACE. Basically hell. So as he descends into madness, the Humes level in that reality starts decreasing. This means that if you could measure how much sense made that dimension it would basically go down. In even simpler words, the dark dimension, SCP-3001 started collapsing. So the moment Dr. Scranton has a bit of hope after decades is when the reality starts blending everything like ingredients. The "dimension" doesn't accept a human because it makes the dimension too unstable. So, with this said, in this event the laws of physics and dimensions, everything starts mixing up. Dr. Scranton's voice gets swapped with the machine so now he sounds like a radio. His arm starts moving around and starts glowing red like the light. Just nothing made sense at that point. Eventually, Dr. Scranton was thrown back into his reality, our home reality, our universe. But, what did 100 years of pure physical non-sense do to a human being? Scranton stayed always alive because in SCP-3001, hunger and thirst don't exist. So, he was thrown back as rotten, as a literal mess of a human being, basically phisically looked like a zombie. Wich is now how SCP-106 looks. Considerations: SCP-3001 was all dark, but was nicknamed "The Red Reality" because what Dr. Scranton could see was only the red light of the machine. SCP-106, or what was before Dr. Scranton, has the ability to teleport and manipulate a pocket dimension because the reality's collapse imprinted this on him. AND the pocket dimension is indeed SCP-3001, the Red (or dark) Reality. Scranton learned to manipulate and use it for being the first human there.
The inspiration for scp 196 did come from a ww1 soldier but from a Canadian who survived being shit through the neck who had to wait till nightfall till he was evacuated
Those people who don't know: SCP-106, also known as The Old Man, is a supporting antagonist in the SCP Foundation mythos. He is a Keter class humanoid SCP anomaly contained by the SCP Foundation. He also appears as the secondary antagonist of the video game SCP: Containment Breach and a playable character in SCP: Secret Laboratory.
Updated Special Containment Procedures idea: A large series of metal chambers. 106 is tracked as he moves through them, and the chambers move around him. Chambers he’s moving away from are shifted in front of him to make escape impossible.
That picture of 106 is actually a picture of a soldier who was shot in the neck. He was smiling because he was alive. His eyes only looked creepy bc blue eyes and old cameras don't mix well
I like the first scenario, although since red reality is like a whole different dimension, time might slow down or go faster, so he could be at any age
I always wonder what would happen if he tried to scare someone but the person didnt even care and just punched him in the face with the power of an strong scp
Imma imagine a few researchers burst inside 106's chamber and just give him a birthday cake
*Old man's smile intensifies!*
