Just wanted to drop a thank you here! Yours was the first (and only) channel I watched when I was considering buying Stardew and you gave a wonderful crash course for beginners. Now, I've got hours upon hours logged in the game and I love coming here for updates and other tips. Thanks for the lovely content
I wonder if the ability to change the day length will be added -- based on nothing other than being blown away by the Sun Haven slider allowing a 20, 30, or 40 minute day. It's a killer feature.
I love your updates because they summarize everything so well and because I don't have Twitter/X I can't keep myself up to date. Also, I admire Concerned Ape so much for all he has done and continues to do for this community. He is still in best interest of the player and not just out for money.
I think the scythe being in both images is an iron scythe (meaning we now are able to upgrade the scythe at Clint's) though it might just be the standard scythe as a reference to the new iridium scythe that CA already confirmed

Gotta add this, I think a discord mod posted in the modding channel in the discord server to tell modders to prepare mod updates cause it could drop next week for the anniversary of the game
I saw on Pathoschild's (Creator of SMAPI, Tractor mod, CJB Cheats, and other stuff) Nexus Mods profile that every single mod they made was updated on Feb. 20th. Definitely very soon.
Я считаю, что новая ферма - это вариация фермы на острове, так как Эрик всё ещё улучшает остров, создаёт загадочную "арену Ки", у нас есть спрайт нового тотема и он развивает ветку ДжоДжа для острова
I have behives placed on my farm in rows of flowers with sprinklers & I inable my juminos on either side until close to the end of season. That way I get flower honey all season & near the end I enable the juminos, they pick all the flowers so it's extra money. In any case I love the flowers.
If I were to make a guess about the cow, I would be inclined to point out the stardrops on either side. Perhaps a new cow that gives stardrop…milk? Seems a bit OP. But a variant cow or new cow would be kind of cool nonetheless.
When I found out that SDV was made by one developer it blew my mind considering there are entire teams dedicated to Story of Seasons and Harvest and most of the time they can't manage to release an enjoyable game.
I think the New Year's message gives a good clue: "good fortune FOR YOU in the coming year" (pointing to the cow) that would mean that dairy products could be sold at a higher price or have better quality. (I apologize for my English, it is not my first language)
i have bought and will continue to buy stardew on every platform it’s available on that i own i would pay for the game 10x over because of truly how much content and love is in it
The auto Petter should be sold at jo jo mart even with the community centre pic as it makes the animals content & your character can get on with planting ,mining ect.
The cow could be similar to the Chinese New year such as the year of the dog, the dragon, etc. it will probably give you different types of fortune over the coming year - Just my own opinion
6:35 I'm pretty sure that the dev who confirmed it's not a festival said that they were just referencing a joke on discord about cows lol, not that it's actually super important
Concerned Ape is in the best state a game developer could ask for: doesn't need money anymore, can work in his own speed on projects he wants and pause them whenever he wants.
"Start a new save for the update" Not me, having dozens of old saves, plus my one save that I've had for _years_ that is by far the oldest and the only one I'm aiming for perfection with.
My theory about the cow bit is that we may have some chinese new year event early in spring, and we could have different types of years (cow, dragon, pig, rabbitt, etc) and that affected the whole year in a way.
The "happy new year" with a cow image spells "yearly zodiac modifiers" to me (year of the ox) or a modified version of it associated with already existing animals in game. long term replayability (ie. after year 2) has been a complaint for a while and a yearly modifier according to your chosen zodiac could be a first step into a level of randomization that would make later years or new playthroughs more interesting. Concerned Ape is by far my favorite game dev...the dude spits out so much quality content i'm actually Concerned (heh) for his sanity...
some mods have been updating since mid January. SMAPI is the one you really want to pay attention to and that one just publicly dropped 4.0, a 1.6 alpha version a few days ago so i think it should be soon as well.
In one of discord groups Pathoschild (creator of SMAPI) put out a message saying that the update will come out sometime between Feb 26 and March 4. So yeah very soon apparently
@@3rdfatedsimmer840concerned ape is probably letting the creators of the more popular mods know about the update/ have early access to the update so they can have their mods be compatible with the update as soon as it comes out. I still can't believe that we are getting a 1.6. ConcernedApe is the gold standard in loving and adding extras to your love project
6:30 I KNOW WHY WE SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO THE COW! In brown at the back of the cow you can see an outline of a camel. They’re already in the game and you could get them in the desert. It makes total sense.
I SEE IT!!!
I will forever love concerned ape. What an amazing guy and developer.
i like how both stardew valley and terraria are in this stage of "the update will come out any minute now!" but they were about a few months off their planned release date
Just wanted to drop a thank you here! Yours was the first (and only) channel I watched when I was considering buying Stardew and you gave a wonderful crash course for beginners. Now, I've got hours upon hours logged in the game and I love coming here for updates and other tips. Thanks for the lovely content
"Mr. Ape was my father, it's just concerned"
I am still happy for the bigger chest. It will help out so much.
I wonder if the ability to change the day length will be added -- based on nothing other than being blown away by the Sun Haven slider allowing a 20, 30, or 40 minute day. It's a killer feature.
PC Release date for the 1.6 update: --March 19th--.
I love your updates because they summarize everything so well and because I don't have Twitter/X I can't keep myself up to date. Also, I admire Concerned Ape so much for all he has done and continues to do for this community. He is still in best interest of the player and not just out for money.
I think the scythe being in both images is an iron scythe (meaning we now are able to upgrade the scythe at Clint's) though it might just be the standard scythe as a reference to the new iridium scythe that CA already confirmed
just saw on the the steam page says March 19th, 2024
I’ve wanted lavender to be in the game for so long, I hope to be able to see that added some day. Can’t wait for 1.6.
1:15 "'Irridium scythe.' People went nuts." 😆🥰👍
I work in software and it’s hell. I appreciate this man so much for sticking to his guns. He’s not gonna rush a million features and roll out garbage. A man of principle!
Concerned Ape is so awesome.
I loved this game before I played it. When I found out about Eric Barone I loved it even more, and will wax lyrical about him to anyone who will listen.
I'm honestly just so excited.
I'm an extremely late comer to this game and my longest save file is just year two still, so I feel very lucky to be along for the ride. Lets go swamp farm!!!
Hey, we all started in the same place :) I haven't reached perfection on my first file yet and it's on Year 5 now haha, I'm taking the long way around. Being at year 2 just means you have a great journey still ahead of u
As a new stardew player (bought it and played for like 10 minutes years ago) all of your videos are very helpful! A warm thanks for the awesome content!!
Maybe its a canning maschine for the fish you catch. For example it can make tins of sardines ? It would make sence after pickling fish roe :) It can increase the value of some fish ?
Well there is already a canning machine in the Artisan mod. It’s so useful if you have both Automate and loads of crab pots.
@@katashworth41 oh, i meant it only in vanilla game 1.6 but thank you letting me know :). I myself also enjoy the automate mod, cant do without it anymore :D
When a games maker actually puts there love for there creation into it i generally ends up a good game because peaple can feel the care and effort put into the games.
Unless it's the smegle game not shere what they put into that thing.
One of the few games I’ve had zero issues buying on multiple different platforms, ConcernedApe is an example to all game devs
I would love a "Gigantic" option for all farm types, as well as a new farm type.
i think the cow is yoba🙏✨ and it blesses us for new year
i love this idea haha
Please do make shorts of the new features from 1.6 after it releases, I'd love to watch it!
You know what else would be interesting? A Factory Farm..... If you choose the Joja route you can buy things that completely automate the farming process. It would make for an interesting choice.
I have to agree. He's an awesome guy. About a year back I tweeted how awesome Stardew Valley is and I still play it to this day over any of my other games. He commented under my tweet that he was happy to hear it. ❤Sometimes the simple things in life really make an impact.
Thank you for this update!!! I was just looking for the most recent news a couple weeks ago so this is great. So excited for the update 😊
I thought the cow meant there's gonna be a new cutscene w/ a cow in it! Can't wait to make a new save and re-experience SV ❤
4:55 there is milk and cookies on each nightstand, meaning if its not an edited photo, you would be able to place "food" items on furniture now.
the warp totem is already in the game files as "Warp Totem: Qi's Arena"
This update comes out on my birthday🎉 I took the day off of work so I can stay home and play! I can’t wait 🥰
This is why I have 6 copies of stardew valley and openly offer to buy it for others
I'm new to stardew so I've never gotten to anticipate updates with the community before and this is so exciting!
Official Steam update shows release will be March 19! Posted today.
With the heart on the beach I was thinking valentines but the cow and fireworks now make me wonder if there is a chinese new year like event
When I found out that SDV was made by one developer it blew my mind considering there are entire teams dedicated to Story of Seasons and Harvest and most of the time they can't manage to release an enjoyable game.
I am so amazed that so many years later, the game is still being supported and its all free updates and not DLC, bless this developer 😊
I think the New Year's message gives a good clue: "good fortune FOR YOU in the coming year" (pointing to the cow) that would mean that dairy products could be sold at a higher price or have better quality.
(I apologize for my English, it is not my first language)
As a user of that one item hack, I can confirm that the new totem is probably Qi's arena
i have bought and will continue to buy stardew on every platform it’s available on that i own i would pay for the game 10x over because of truly how much content and love is in it
The auto Petter should be sold at jo jo mart even with the community centre pic as it makes the animals content & your character can get on with planting ,mining ect.
Its coming out in 4 days, March 19. Im so excited
The cow could be similar to the Chinese New year such as the year of the dog, the dragon, etc. it will probably give you different types of fortune over the coming year - Just my own opinion
In the Christmas image there is a present under the tree they are bringing Christmas gifts to stardew I bet! 😮
I want to be able to upgrade the farm we currently have. I know we have ginger island and all, but I want my farm in Pelican Town to be bigger
There IS a fireworks festival mod right now, but the fireworks work like bombs... I blew up my fence. XD
"Start a new save for the update"
Not me, having dozens of old saves, plus my one save that I've had for _years_ that is by far the oldest and the only one I'm aiming for perfection with.
I want the days to pass by soon so I can get my hands on it and start playing!! Thanks for the video! 💖💖
My theory about the cow bit is that we may have some chinese new year event early in spring, and we could have different types of years (cow, dragon, pig, rabbitt, etc) and that affected the whole year in a way.
What i really respect this solo developer is that just an update not a dlc
The "happy new year" with a cow image spells "yearly zodiac modifiers" to me (year of the ox) or a modified version of it associated with already existing animals in game.
long term replayability (ie. after year 2) has been a complaint for a while and a yearly modifier according to your chosen zodiac could be a first step into a level of randomization that would make later years or new playthroughs more interesting.
Concerned Ape is by far my favorite game dev...the dude spits out so much quality content i'm actually Concerned (heh) for his sanity...
March 17th is really nice for a release date! only 7 days after my birthday! :D
March 19th was announced!
My guess is a birthday system. The cow correlates to your birthday the way astrology signs correlate to real world signs.
I think 1.6 will be coming out quite soon tho, bc in the modding community some of the mods just started updating their mod to a ‘1.6 alpha’ version
some mods have been updating since mid January.
@@tutubakaanime how is it that the official stardew valley discord doesnt have that info available but other groups do
@@3rdfatedsimmer840concerned ape is probably letting the creators of the more popular mods know about the update/ have early access to the update so they can have their mods be compatible with the update as soon as it comes out. Especially considering the original purpose of the update was making the game more mod compatible.
@@tutubakaanime I saw on their Nexus Mods that every mod they've developed and listed on their page is labeled as having been updated on Feb. 20th. Definitely soon
The person who works for ConcernedApe clarified about the cow! About the screenshot that you're referencing, she said: "just wanted to also clarify that the screenshot is from the Stardew Valley Discord-- while I own the server, CA has no interest in making an 'official' server and it is completely community run. while i get the casual speak threw people off, it's a screenshot of one message that takes a few things out of context (such as the environment i am communicating in and that i made a joke about cows a few messages above this screenshot)."
