@MistaSergio yea that is what I figured. I was unable to find anything in their online manuals thought it seems there may be one missing. I looked through the manual that came with it and didn't find anything. I had seen a number of people mention calibrating the V7s but nothing beyond that. I can only assume they may have been meaning the Ns7.
@AsylumET Im not sure if calibration is the same or related to the way the Ns7 is. There may not be a method to do it to the V7 because its not an "all in one". I'd check the manual online and see! let me know if there is!
Any idea how you would or if you could do this on the V7s? The pitch on my dk A is a few steps above the center 0 mark when the white LED is lit but dk B is on 0 as it should be when illuminated white. Thinking at first it may be software related, I tried switching the decks around and the problem seems to be that specific controller being out of calibration. The manual doesn't mention anything of the sort and all they have online doesn't even cover trouble shooting.
Can you explain why the tracks skip to the beginning? I've had this happen to me several times and I'm just now learning about this calibration process for the NS7. Does this calibration prevent this skipping?
Not prevent but sometimes the solution is because the calibration of the strips get out of wack so you have that random track skip to the beginning. Doing this after the unit has warmed up can help in fixing the issue - it definitely did on my unit
+dj fene its still going strong! I've never had to send him in for any reason - altho my right bass eq knob is a little ehhh now. I took dicers that I use to use with my turntables and put them on the NS7 to give me quick access to loop rolls - it works well but the sound engine in SDJ is so different than ITCH - sometimes I just use ITCH. SDJ isn't an issue with the NS7 - but there are some funky decisions they've made with short cuts for some of the new functions in SDJ. I would keep ITCH around - as if there is ever a need to update the firmware - ITCH appears to be the only software to do it. Are you having issues with SDJ?
Thanks DJ Mista. Its been a good journey with NS7 until serato 1.8.1 showed up and now left deck is suffering from cough .lol..i mean track skips on its own and really not a good sign.. but yes am going in for a new NS7 III . RESPECT!!!
MistaSergio don't be sorry, it was just making fun. You totally help me. I just connected for the first time yesterday that's why I'm asking if you have any other advice transitioning music is hard
ignore the sync button. When you go to start mixing a song - have your cross fader on its further "smooth" cut - normally far left / knob turned far left. Under the pitch fader are " - / + " and what those will do is allow you to make minor adjustments to the keeping the beats on time - because like a normal turn table setup - each of your NS7 platters will have a slightly different speed in pace. Using those to start training your ear to mix is going to aid in the "adjustment" field of keeping it in time - i mean the physical action of speeding or slowing down a song to keep it in time. When you go to mix - for now, focus solely on where the snare / claps of each song fall and hone in on keeping those in time. Since your crossfader is at the most smooth setting and serato does a pretty good job with keeping all music of similar volume across the board - focus on the count, the timing and the cut of the mix. Aside from that - just practice. it takes time and there is always stuff to learn because we have the digital aspect of mixing and playing music
Hey bro, although this video is old. You had the same exact laptop as mine and I just bought an ns7 because I like the classic feel... However, im not getting it to work. I plug it in and it does not connect in Itch or Serato DJ. I tried troubleshooting and all but nothing works. Can I get some help please...Tell me how you got yours to work and if you had problems. HELP ME OUT BRO!
+Brandon Frederick going to have to start at the front. If the laptop itself is not seeing the NS7 - thats where you have to start....what edition of windows are you on? have you installed the drivers for the NS7 successfully? you have to do it from Nurmark's website and also for ITCH - and follow those prompts and do as it tells you step by step - unplug the NS7 when it says so - plug it in when it says so etc. If any of them fail - you'll need to uninstall the driver / ITCH and try again. Get the laptop to see the NS7 first and we can go from there... If you can - test to see that it isn't the NS7 itself by connecting it to another computer and see if it connects or recognizes the NS7
Thanks alot bro! I did uninstall the drivers and tried them again...IT WORKS PERFECTLY, and It works with serato dj as well (not only ITCH) . Thanks again bro.
Bro mine does the same thing. I tried it on two different computers with windows 10 and nothing. I’ve tried reinstalling and doesn’t work. All of the drivers and software are up to date straight off the Numark website. What is the calibration for? Help me out bro? I thought it was my computer first...Had the computer scan, fixed, all that. But still nothing. I even tried DJ Pro and nothing bro. Authorized repair store told me I was SOL because they don’t make parts for NS7. It’s never been damage, drop or nothing. I uninstalled Itch one day and reinstalled it and it just stop working. Help bro! Please
I just wanted to say thanks for posting this video. I've been using it since 2012..!
+djgetmoney29 Respect! glad it helped!
Thank you so much brotha, much appreciated on the upload and walk through

do you think you could put up an explanation of what some of the surface buttons do?
