What I love is unlike in the comics, Peter struggles to come up with a design. He goes through a ton of scrapped ideas and you can see his frustration with each failed attempt. He scraps unnecessary details like wings and belts. Has a hard time finding a color scheme and emblem. Only when he actually thinks deep about what makes him happy (Mary Jane) is when he comes up with the perfect design
And also remembered the spider that gave him his powers was also red and blue.

Leo De Nardus I think he’s retroactively giving it purpose. He’s not saying that Raimi came up with the color scheme, just that he saw a correlation and came up with a reason Peter might design it that way.

This story is all about a girl, that girl. The girl that he took pictures of leading to the spider bite. The girl that prompted him to buy a car in order to impress her. The need for the car led him to the wrestling match where he was stiffed, and then let the robber get away because he was stiffed. The robber that killed his uncle leading him to become Spider-man. Everything he did to become Spider-man was to impress Mary-Jane. When at the end Peter realizes being Spider-man is more important, he has to give up the very thing that led him to pursue a life of responsibility in the first place.

Mary Jane is a much more complex character than people give her credit for. Every once in a while you meet women like this in real life. You can't really blame her for having insecurity issues, growing up in an abusive household, its not far fetched to see why she would hop from guy to guy. I mean at 0:09 its amazing how quickly she switches from Peter's somber energy to the happy-go-lucky, party girl attitude she needs to probably stay sane. It shows women in a light that isn't uncommon, she isn't a super genius, she isn't glorified as a strong independent woman, she's just a young woman living in queens whos had a tough life with a family that never believed in her. That to me is much more compelling than "Strong female characters" written to be ONLY that.

Makes sense in universe. I think people are forgetting that Homecoming (and peter) is just one piece of the big puzzle that is the MCU. Of course tony gave Peter a new suit- he needed him to fight Team Cap. Plus, they actually made peter act like a teenager.

I love how playful Elfman's soundtrack is with the theme in scenes like this. He gets so much out of the motif throughout the trilogy.
I love how that spider that bit Peter in this movie is also red and blue. That’s a very clever touch. As well as MJ’s red hair and blue eyes also being the inspiration behind his trademark color scheme. Sam Raimi is a genius.

It's the same thing over and over, avengers part 95, black panther because reasons I can't say due to sensitive people, ant man...what. I actually appreciated morbius because it was something new despite its flaws. There is a whole world of marvel, why focus on only the popular ones :(

Darkehy Mastah I always found it hard to believe that a broke highschool kid could design such a complex and perfectly designed suit like that with all those expensive materials and challenging designs, it takes more than knowing how to work a sowing machine to put that together, you have to be a pro at clothing design, I heard even for the production designers that making the suit to look as good as it does was no easy task and involved lots of trial and error, especially to get the 3d webs surrounding it to look aesthetically pleasing, that's top notch craft right there there's no way some teenager could put that together with such limited resources and on his monthly allowance lol, I think they should have done a scene after this where he goes to a special costume design shop where you can get things custom made from drawings, and he goes there wearing a disguise like a hat, shades and fake mustache and puts on a different voice to hide his identity, the first time he can only afford the simpler suit that he wore to the wrestling place, but later finds the money to make the more complex suit,that process would have been more believable and relateable to what we would do in his shoes instead of some off screen implication that he made it and not showing us how.
