I was watching this video and saw a clock. Then I saw the clock again. I decided to track down every scene with the clock in it and write down the times. First column is the time of a video clip, and the second column is what time the clock is showing in the video: 00:0010:53 00:0310:57 00:3311:05 01:0611:11 01:3511:23 01:5411:58 02:3114:31 In conclusion, the music clip was shot in about 3 and a half hours. It was also done sequentially, i.e. the scenes were not mashed up. The crew probably had lunch at about 12 o'clock and shot the final scene afterwards. Assuming the clock was not altered in any manner.
So I've been listening to "Stay" and this song for most of the day today, and tbh, I see the connection lyric wise, but other than that, they seem like completely different songs. I'm being dead honest about this, Zedd showed something new and unique in both songs. He didnt "lose his sound" like you guys are saying, but like Zedd has said before, he is always experimenting and that's what I see here. Even if it is similar to "Stay," there are still new things in this song that Zedd fans should get excited for. I mean the biggest being, he had a country vocalist do this, who knows what's next for him but its still a really well put together song.
He hasn't had the same level of experimentation as his True Colors album. Songs like True Colors, Daisy, and Transmission were very different compared to this song, Get Low, Stay, and Starving.

I think everyone needs to understand that artists need to change in order to stay relevant. Not as a person, but in their music. In order to stay happy, and in order to stay original, he needs to change his style and his songs. Zedd probably made this song knowing it would probably blow up all over the radio and stuff. That is just how the business is. Is that all that Zedd does? No. Is that all that Zedd will do from now on? No. This is a single either to promote his name or to promote his album; to stay relevant. Keep in mind his album, referred to as Z3, will have something like a dozen songs, and obviously not all of them are designed for the radio. We are saying that he has changed since True Colors, but aren't waiting for his new album to give him a chance to prove you wrong. Singles are usually meant to be popular, that's just how it goes. You release the songs you think will be the most popular first, and then if they become popular, when you release the album with a hit song in it, more people will know about the album and want to buy it.
He changed even before true colors, ever since spectrum, stay the night, and find you blew up on the radio, he became more commercial, like Avicii, like less than 20% of his songs nowadays are normie mainstream, bullshit, that teenage girls, and parents trying to stay hip listen to. I think that is a big "Fuck you" to the people who supported him from the start. His old music used to be amazing, now he just makes average, mediocre, songs to stay relevant.

The thing is This genre is inspired from Future Bass An amazing genre that got “ruined” by the Chainsmokers and some other producers In the beginning Future Bass was not mainstream then Martin Garrix, Zedd and some others started experimenting it with mainstream style And yeah... it got kinda ruined...
Not gonna lie but Zedd’s previous music is phenomenal , full of personality and strong EDM vibes which made me like his music so much... Especially “ I Want You To Know “ and “ Clarity “. However, when “ Stay “ and other songs came out... I felt like the uniqueness of his music is ...... forgotten. Like 6 feet under the grass and never be found again. Moreover, from “ stay “ until now , all of his music is just....very similar or even the same vibes with The Chainsmokers. I agree with you. I follow Anton for 5 years now. It is great to see him gaining fans and I'm very happy for him that he is a very popular producer these days. But I also miss the unique chord progressions and orchestra which he used to complete his songs with; which are true masterpieces. (Like Dobregubben, shave it up, spectrum, epos.... and the anthem) I only listen to his old songs because they are very unique and so beautiful. I feel like his new music is mainstream, and I still like it, but his previous work is much better if you ask it to me. But i will never stop supporting this awesome man! 🙌

I think everyone needs to understand that artists need to change in order to stay relevant. Not as a person, but in their music. In order to stay happy, and in order to stay original, he needs to change his style and his songs.
Zedd probably made this song knowing it would probably blow up all over the radio and stuff. That is just how the business is. Is that all that Zedd does? No. Is that all that Zedd will do from now on? No. This is a single either to promote his name or to promote his album; to stay relevant. Keep in mind his album, referred to as Z3, will have something like a dozen songs, and obviously not all of them are designed for the radio. We are saying that he has changed since True Colors, but aren't waiting for his new album to give him a chance to prove you wrong. Singles are usually meant to be popular, that's just how it goes. You release the songs you think will be the most popular first, and then if they become popular, when you release the album with a hit song in it, more people will know about the album and want to buy it.

He changed even before true colors, ever since spectrum, stay the night, and find you blew up on the radio, he became more commercial, like Avicii, like less than 20% of his songs nowadays are normie mainstream, bullshit, that teenage girls, and parents trying to stay hip listen to. I think that is a big "Fuck you" to the people who supported him from the start. His old music used to be amazing, now he just makes average, mediocre, songs to stay relevant.

Not gonna lie but Zedd’s previous music is phenomenal , full of personality and strong EDM vibes which made me like his music so much... Especially “ I Want You To Know “ and “ Clarity “. However, when “ Stay “ and other songs came out... I felt like the uniqueness of his music is ...... forgotten. Like 6 feet under the grass and never be found again. Moreover, from “ stay “ until now , all of his music is just....very similar or even the same vibes with The Chainsmokers. Honestly, if he stay on his old way of making music like before will be absolutely fabulous and awesome. P.S. I M NOT HATING AND I M JUST SAYING MY MIND OUT Because I Love Zedd so much 😍😍😍

I agree with you. I follow Anton for 5 years now. It is great to see him gaining fans and I'm very happy for him that he is a very popular producer these days. But I also miss the unique chord progressions and orchestra which he used to complete his songs with; which are true masterpieces. (Like Dobregubben, shave it up, spectrum, epos.... and the anthem)
I only listen to his old songs because they are very unique and so beautiful. I feel like his new music is mainstream, and I still like it, but his previous work is much better if you ask it to me. But i will never stop supporting this awesome man! 🙌
