Another great testing video. I've been hunting for a "blue" color for my R2D2 build and I am convinced that Candy Indigo on the silver base nails it. Alclad is such an awesome product. Gorgeous colors and spray so easily. Thanks again Barbatos Rex.

I want to thank you for doing this. Sometimes you have no idea just by looking at the bottle how these are going to turn out once you spray them or with different bases. I'm always recommending your channel during my streams.

A while a go. I bought the Alclad silver base expecting the chrome result because that was what was recommended. I'm glad I saw this before laying it down, but wish I saw it before buying it.

Saw a video recently where someone dipped half of a clear 1/35 wine bottle in the red and after it dried dipped to whole bottle in the bottle green. Looked like a partially empty red wine bottle.

Happy New Year B. Rex. Hope you and your family had a great Christmas. Going through the line you painted ... the orange turned (at least on camera) to be an almost "burnt orange" which was really a great color. I'm partial to blue colors, and the violet was really gorgeous. After seeing all the results, all seems to look the best over the AlClad Chrome, except the reds. Great vid. Hopefully the new year brings you and your family the best.

Generally the resin work as a magnifying glass.. but I don’t want to run buy a whole set to find out it’s not gonna work out. These are so cool.. I want them all! Hey, just wanted to say thanks for those awesome videos on the Alclad paints. Wished I’d seen that before WASTING my money on the AK paints!!

Since what's being done is not detailwork, i dont see why you would use a 0.2. The 0.5 is perfect.

I tried spraying it over Greenstuffworld chrome and it killed the chrome finish and just made it look like metal flake. Did you spray it on directly or was the GSW chrome sealed before this was sprayed on?

A commendation for all the time and effort needed for this review. There seemed to be some similarities amongst the two different greens and also the two blues in the set? Or is it just the monitor?

It's sometimes hard to really show off certain colors under LED lighting or thru a camera. In particular shades of the same color.

When I tried their candy red it kept peeling off of the silver base. Do you know why ?

I'm on here looking to do some creative paint designs on a couple electric guitar tops I'm re doing. I like the looks of these paints and have a couple airbrushed and hvlp setups including a turbine hvlp for cerakote projects that all work great but do you know if any of these paints you use would be compatible with whatever coatings they use on guitars? The one in question has a matte finish over stained wood, wish I knew what the matte finish is but I can't find that info. I don't want to have to sand it down to bare wood if I can get away with it do to the complex shapes and angles it would be a nightmare, I know I could do some nice stencil work on it if I could use these paints,I make my own vinyl stencils. Any advice? I'm used to generally painting/coating bare sandblasted metals and polymers so wood and guitar coatings are new for me I just don't want to lay down the paint then find out it's going to fisheye or not bond well or worse. Thank you

Hi Barbatos! I paint mainly miniatures and figures, and mostly with acrylics. I have an airbrush but mostly paint with brush , wanted to ask you, as i saw your review of Armored Komodo metallic pigments. What do you think? Which one is superior? I dont have any of these products available in my country, so probably will need to import them, thats why is important for me to know which one is the best.I love the alclad finish shown in your video, but komodo is done with brush. I want striking colours like candy red, blue, or similar, and both lines have what i want. My only fear with Komodo is that , used in miniatures, show some big chuncks of pigments or mica flakes, or something that makes it look as an unnatural paint for such small figures. What do you think, which one will be better for me? Thanks again, love all your videos, and know more about this products thanks to you :)

I would go with the Armored Komodo. There's zero large flakes. It just looks like plating when it's applied. Get a set of silicone brushes for them. That'll be perfect for miniatures. This is a good set

I clean it out each session. Then before I film I'll put in a new filter and black bottom. Makes for a better looking video 👍

I'm having better results with the MIG version of Alclads. The Chrome for plastic from MIG is *way* shinnier that Alclad Chrome and that reflects on the final candy effect. Same with Alclad Black Chrome vs Airframe Aluminium. I tested just like you, different variants, coats and so on and overall MIG gave me better results. I don't know why honestly since they should be mostly the same.
Anyways, are you planning on a comparison video between those two? (Alclad vs MIG Alclad) they're similar but as i said MIG performed better in my testings and there's little to none info on this topic.

Mr Barbatos did you have any luck in finding Revell's aqua color primer? Its white and its alcohol based and I think it thinns with Revell Aqua color thinner or maybe Mr hobby aqueous thinner or x20a acrylic thinner. I tried it with Tamiya lacquer thinner and it did work for a while until it turned into goop. My airbrush had to be taken down and cleaned a lot with hardware store lacquer thinner.
