Zippy a sweet tank base!
How much is the button on top protruding, can it run upside down?
I know you want to put this project behind you, but that could really ise a modular base plate to mount stuff on.

It’s protruding just enough for it not to be able to run upside down, but it would be an easy fix.
And yes because of how modular it is, it’s great as a platform to mount things on.
