I really don't mind the HAG, mostly because it can really crank on battle armour and vehicles which can be quite threatening to a medium mech. The lasers I'd probably swap out for something else but they'd work ok. Been a good year for your channel, here's to hoping for the next being just as great!
“Business acumen” and “Jade Falcon” are not words that I normally envisage within the same sentence. Kinda ironic how such an effective design shows up as its namesake clan’s future is on the ropes.
I also hope Jiyi’s Falcons can carve a somewhat stable existence in the years to come. I really like the direction of the new “winged” mechs from CJF. Designs like the Eyrie, Gyrfalcon, and Shrike visually never sat well with me for being too “beaky”. Don’t know if I’ll get a Hierofalcon yet, perhaps I’ll wait till we get a plastic or premium one from CGL, though I will say it’s an attractive looking mech.
Yay! Another JF 'mech! I wanna collect all of them! As for the HieroFalcon, this 'Mech seems to be Jade Falcons version of the Shadow Cat, trading MASC for improved Jumping capabilities. It seems the HieroFalcon and it's contemporaries represent a shift from the more Mongol 'mechs like the Skrike.
@@MechanicalFrog Iron Wind Metals makes Hierofalcons. The prime comes with A config arms, and they have a B config, that also comes with prime AND A config arms!! They are a little off with Scale... but are well done, otherwise.
Thanks for the video, MechFrog! You should get a pat on the back and some cookies. I'm a big fan of the HeiroFalcon, it's kinda like an Omni-Super-Phoenix Hawk. My favorite's the A variant, but I like the MF loadout too. Pulse lasers are a good choice for a jumper.
I'd have liked it for just being a Clan Jade Falcon design (and I'm also flipping off Malvina Hazen right now, too, lol), and my opinion hasn't changed after this video. The Prime, D, and MF configurations are ones I like, but like always I came up with my own. The Hierofalcon ISM retains the standard Jump Jets of the Prime, as well as the TAG, but completely changes the weapons load. In the center torso is the TAG, along with an Active Probe to aid it in hunting. A Clan Laser Anti-Missile System was added to the head to protect it against incoming missile - an umbrella was thought to be too extravagant - and that rounds out the equipment load. Offensively, which if you're a Wolf is what this 'Mech is regardless, it mounts an IS Plasma Rifle with 2 tons of ammo in the right arm, along with a Clan ER Flamer, and 2 Clan Medium Pulse Lasers are mounted in the left arm. While definitely intended to be the bane of infantry and tanks, it isn't an easily dismissed threat to Light 'Mechs and many Mediums. Of course, since it's a Falcon 'Mech that warning might have to be issued to Heavy and Assault 'Mechs as well.
It's funny how the Jades Falcon's change of tactics and use of more dynamic or as I've heard called "anime" lite designs were considered controversial. When not only are they some of the best looking mechs in my opinion. The Mongol doctrine is exactly how I like to play, fast and up close, except I love to get into melee, and take melee specialist mechs all the time
While not a big physical combat guy, I can appreciate that they adapted to their surroundings rather than staying rigid to tactics that stopped working a hundred years prior.
Love seeing mechs lean into both form and function. The Falcon bird mechs arena lot of fun and, as you said, were criminally understated in Hour of the Wolf. As for the future of the Mech. Marena is going to sell the thing by the batch, I bet. Now that she and the foxes have annunderstanding I bet they are salavating tonget their hands on Falcon tech.
Another great video! I really like this machine (even if I usually hate cockpits that miss a armor bubble from the start). It's basically pure aggression in most of it's donfigurations, I made one with a large pulse laser, in each arm and a medium in the center torso, two additional heatsinks and jumpjets. Didn't get to play it yet.
The A configuration is insane. Jumping distance of 10 hexes? Forget hitting that thing. In fact, forget your rear armor. That large pulse laser will melt it right of with a hit or two.
The Hierofalcon is good, but the Jade Phoenix is the more…optimized if we’re looking at the new partial wing designs. Optimized is the best word I can think of, as its existence doesn’t invalidate the Hierofalcon’s.
No worries MechFrog, my SeaFox agents bought some of these Hieros and they are reverse engineering them for resales. AML may complain but at least the mech won't be lost.
