Love the kudos. But these folks look like they're paramedics from Ontario. There is a lot more training that they have to go through than what most EMTs do.
Amazing kudos and Mom was next level pro! From the use of the McRoberts manoeuvre and suprapubic pressure, it suggests a complicated delivery that wasn't progressing from shoulder dystocia. These paramedics were life saving with their decisions and actions. And luckily in Ontario, not clamping and cutting the cord immediately is standard care unless resuscitation for the neonate or mother is required. Proud of our Canadian Paramedics!!

The paramedics did an outstanding job with the mother and baby. I think the onlookers were family, the husband and maybe his mom. You have to look at the situation and determine if it is necessary for shielding.
That's the LAST thing that would be on my mind lol. What's going on inside the elevator is completely natural, she's giving birth. Stopping People from being curious during that moment would not be a priority. They need to focus on much more important things than people seeing her give birth 😂

So beautiful to see a man paramedics be so human about childbirth,,the way he cover the lady shows that he knows what is that painful experience,,con grax guys..
Glad to hear that you were delivered of a healthy little boy. My question is, what was that man doing by pushing on your pelvic region? Was he trying to push the baby out? I have never seen this technique. Again, glad everything went well and you are both good.
Suprapubic pressure is used to treat shoulder dystocia where the baby has a shoulder stuck on the pelvis. Dont know if that was the case but I imagine it could also help a regular delivery go a little smoother.
Those paramedics were heaven sent, but Mama was clearly the star of this show... until baby made his/her debut. I can't get over how calmly she delivered. Let that had of been me. They would've been giving just anything to keep me quiet 😂😂. The paramedics did an amazing job, and Mom was phenomenal.

They were not ready as they flew me fast into delivery room . The Intern learned to listen to a womans body that day i I tried to tell them it was comming.
Wow!!! What a story to tell your son how he was born in an elevator, caught live on camera. Amazing job by the medics and a huge congratulations to you
Im a nurse and i wish I knew more about what was going on. The mom seemed to be out of it. She did move around and she said something right before they all scrambled. Then the guy was pushing on her pelvis. What's that about? Certainly they weren't trying to keep the baby from coming out. I mean when it comes it comes. Would like to hear what happened.
One possibility is if there is shoulder dystocia meaning the baby's shoulder gets stuck on the pubic bone. One of the first steps to correct it (the first actually feasible given the tight space) is suprapubic pressure. We push down to try and shift the baby's shoulder down to help it get through the birth canal. Just an assumption though. Not sure if that's why he is doing it but that's what it looks like he's doing.
