    There are a few off piste trails in chopwell that are decent, there is roots which is top end of the forest and you have drift pit and some other tech trails near the bottom end. Kielder, i'd stay away from at the moment, the link red trails are all closed north side. Deadwater side is open but a couple still closed due to the weather.

      the hardest thing about chopwell is trying to keep your momentum, everything kills your speed

    Used to live in Chopwell this was one of my go to places along with Hamsterly and North Pennines C2C Route. There was a time when some asshat thought it a good idea to tie lines across the trails.

    Good to see you in the northeast. Ive still not ridden chopwell myslf was thinking of heading up this weekend but think ill give it a miss until the spring. I live about 40mins away near Sunderland and its the closest official trail. Next closest in probably Hamersley then Kielder. I usually just hit my local woods or if i have more time i head along the C2C cycle route to beamish woods or to Cong burn near Chester le street.

      Thanks Steve. I am psyched to see what the Northeast has to offer. Hamsterly and Kielder are definitely on my list to visit , but the weather has been so bad recently I haven't managed to get there yet. Hopefully I will get a few dry days to explore.

      @@steveoutdoors5964 my work is taking me all over the place at the moment. I have a couple of days left in Newcastle, then my next stop is Derby. I am definitely scheduled to be back in Newcastle early in 2022 again. So looking forward to finding a few new places to ride.

    Been there a couple of times it's a good bit of fun but badly.in need of a good dig team. The grades are so wrong the reds a mellow blues and the black is an extremely mellow red but all good fun and if you're close worth having a look.

    Great video looked good place, you have any luck getting your Voodoo fixed? I've now had a new BB and a new rear wheel with new rotar. Hopefully that's it all sorted now 👍 😀

      I haven’t managed to get a replacement yet. I am planning on doing an upgrade, but the new BB and cranks that I am after are still in very short supply. Can’t wait to get back in my hardtail!

    i visit chopwell quite often and its a shame that noone really uses the black trail as i find its the best version of powerline when all the leaves and stuff are gone

    • @bikeandbeyond
      @bikeandbeyond  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. I thought the black line was a great line.
