sir agar water me algae and phytoplankton increase ho raha hai to dissolved oxygen badhni chiye . (carbondioxide + water---------------> glucose + oxygen). Lekin aap bol rhe ho ki DO decfrease karega . how?

When phytoplankton increases excessively it is of invasive type which consumes more oxygen rather than releasing it ....this is the reason do decreases and is less available for other aquatic organisms like fishes etc....

What happens is when the Algae die once the nutrients get used up they get decomposed and that requires more Oxygen (DO) and so the amount of DO goes down in decomposing these dead algal blooms.....Sometimes it so happens that the entire algae bloom die and decreased DO leads to fish kills......
