It's not where the ball lands, it's where the bobber on the string above it is touching the upper part of the wheel. Those numbers do match what you get on screen.

I have no experience with any Japanese pusher so I tend to cut these two players a bit of slack since they said they have never played it before. Whenever I see videos of interesting machines like this one, I immediately wonder how a person might buy the game after the arcade is finished with it... And what would its value be? I suspect that the market for older, used, HUGE arcade machines must be rather limited. I would probably need to take out 2 pinball machines to get that in my game room.
The ball tells whether or not the meter goes up a lot, slightly or goes down, the hanging bobber tells how far you reel in, so "landing on a 20" or the red will only reduce the pull, but not pull it in 2 meters, the floating bobber above the pyramid does distance
Its what part the top floaty part lands on for it to count how many meters it reels in, so the red is just subtracting the power pull and the yellow is just a safe spot.🤣😂
I saw the bobber hitting 5 when the ball landed on 20. So pretty sure the bobber is counting the 5s despite what the ball lands in. The ball I think just either will make the fish pull more to break the line, or tire it out depending on where it lands in the triangles, red, or Xs. Wish I could play this though. Looks like so much fun :D

I don't even understand the Kanji, but I knew that x means durability lost, triangle meant no durability change, and circle meant durability recovered for the line. I am surprise that the dude didn't see the orange bibber that is touching the numbers is what is registering the number value of the pull since both are two different spinners are two different mechanics. The software engineers created such a cool game with more complex features than those found in a casino in the states.
The name of the game is レッ釣り which is "Rettsuri" - It's a combination of "Let's" and "Tsuri" which is "Fishing" in Japanese. So it's "Let's Fish" directly translated. Also the distance values you were getting were decided by where the hanging bobber landed on the top cone part of the spinning thing. I don't even understand what the color spaces were for, but my guess is if you get too many blues your turn is over.

you can trade in tokens for prizes since gambling for money is illegal
UniSon Jordan yes gambling is illegal, but you can exchange the coins for items and gold coins then trade those in for cash.
You cant gamble in the same building so what they do is that they print out a ticket for you to exchange at a separate building where you can get cash
I think u can use those coins for the claw machines and get stuff it’s and play games I think

Red makes you loose a bar...blue made you gain a bar...yellow is nothing.
If your bar was full your line snapped and the game is over.
