I've just done 30k miles on mine - mix of commuting through central London, countryside, long distance tours to Europe and track days. Genuinely a fantastic all rounder which can do all of these things really well.
Yes it's fine with me - the Akra probably sounds better but I never felt the need to change the stock. But I'm usually the kind of person who sticks with stock parts anyway due to my lack of skill with anything practical!@@w3dnesd4y57
Coming up to my three year anniversary with mine. Genuinely the best all round bike I've owned. The dynamics ride mode is a must tick option, as it absolutely changes the character of the bike.
Hello! Thanks for the video. I tested a 2023 F900R today for about 25-30 miles. The bike I rode had the premium package installed and was fully loaded. I am currently riding a BMW G310R and have just outgrown the bike, and thought this to be the logical next step up in my BMW Motorrad journey. So, for me, coming off a G310R, the F900R did not feel underpowered, even in road mode, which I selected during the test. The power was very fun, predictable, and linear. I had absolute pleasure romping around town going through the gearbox with the quick shifter, especially the auto-blip downshifts that were just so damn satisfying. After riding a G310R for 7,000 miles (my first and only bike) the F900R felt like I was riding Optimus Prime and I felt absolutely awesome on it. So long story short, I fell in love with the F900R, and the demo model that I tested had 19 miles on it before I took my extended test ride. The price was listed at $10,995 usd, and after the homey hookup, price was $10,000 usd. In what universe am I ever going to get a bike with this kind of build quality, that TFT, dynamic esa, quick shifter up and down, adaptive lights, cruise control, heated grips, keyless ride, riding modes, Brembos, navigation prep, adjustable levers, endurance chain .....wow, on and on for $10,000? After taxes, destination, freight, tag, title, and dealership fees, the bike is more like $12,999 out the door for me. The dealership wants my G310R for a trade in, and offered $3,000 trade, which I thought was pretty fair (2020 310R, 7k miles). That leaves me with $9,999, 10 grand out of pocket, and my G310R. I put a $500 deposit down on the bike to hold it, while I ponder my decisions. Good deal? Thanks, have a nice day!
@@ayrtonxerri1466 I put myself through several miles of standstill traffic and I had absolutely no issues handling the bike. I am 5'9 140lbs, so I'm not a big guy at all. The bike feels confident in corners, and with the pegs being pretty high, there is a ton of clearance to the ground, so leaning the bike is just wonderful.
I bought a 2018 G310R in February. An impulse buy to get me back on 2 wheels after almost 20 years. I rode the G310R 3 times, then started shopping. My 2023 F900R is a leftover from last year. Great price, great financing. I now have 164 miles in it since Tuesday. Western Massachusetts and Vermont miles. LOVE the feel and handling of the bike. 99HP is plenty for the riding I do. At about 465lbs , it's light and maneuverable. Civilized ride over bumpy roads, FUN in the turns. Handles fine in the stop-n-go traffic I had to endure on the ride home from the dealership in Connecticut (MAX BMW), and thank you, Kyle!
Love mine. had it 3 years. My only complaint is the stiff transmission. With over 14,000 miles it still feels notchy when using the shift assist. Smooth without it. Handles great. Stops better. And is a beauty to look at.
The Dynamic mode makes such a difference on the throttle and the acceleration and is so different from Road mode, same power but you get so much more of that power at less throttle.
It is a zero to sixty 3.2s, so nothing to spit on. My wife got one standard seat hight but she is 5.8. S21 has been fine for me but she didn't like so it got some metzeler roadtech 01 se. It completely changes it's behavior, for her perfect for going switchbacks in the alps, for me bit too nimble tho. We both just ride it in dynamic pro cos it's better for the wrist... just less work. It is that good of a bike that I usually trying to convince her that she rides my bike. Sadly she seldomly allows me. She did like 10k on it in our 6 months season. Mpg is awesome even if spiritually ridden. I put the handguards from the f900xr on it, since that extends our season for like one month, and every day on it is a treat. For me it is the best midweight twin on the market, BMW is 10 years ahead in that compared to the Japanese competition and that 10 years I think one feels. So long, thank you for showing. Btw if one travels cruise is really recommended, nice soft luggage available, she went for swmotech blaze pro and tankbag. Chain maintenance is okay, the optional Regina Gold (m-endurance) I'd recommend, cos I got that on my bike and this one is just easier to maintain.
@@bevan8477 ty, yeah she is great. :) Last month she did put 2 a half thousand miles on the bike but season is almost over. Riding gave her a decent boost in confidence. I don't see much of the bike magazines no more, they are on her desk now... well I did want it that way, didn't I? :))
Hello Kate, Recently purchased a dealer ex-demo. It was this motorcycle F900R that lured me away from my SV650, after test riding across other makes. The test ride included stretches of open highway, mountainous curves and corners, country lanes and a small rural village at the turn back point. Giving me a wonderful exposure to different riding environs. The F900R handled all of these things with grace, and was especially inspiring for the mountain curves. I have ordered a more comfortable seat for longer distances and an extender to the Gear shifter. Plus reviewing whether I will lower the footpegs and/or add mirror extenders. But everything else just chef's kiss. Thanks for the review.
I have the exact same bike. It’s my first “on road” motorcycle. Put 7400km on it before having to pack it away for winter here in Canada. I don’t have much to compare it to having only ridden dirt bikes previously. It’s more than enough than I’ll ever need. I bought it for the tech and colour. The weight didn’t bother me. People complain about the seat or they can’t wheelie with it. I find the seat comfortable and I use a dirt bike if I want to wheelie and stay off the roads. The modes are noticeable when changed and the dynamic ESA is worth the extra money in my opinion
Passed my test in Sept 23, bought a 2021 SE model with only 1000 miles on and I absolutely love it. Your description of intended user is spot on. Not tried dynamic pro mode yet, but i have done around 1500 mile on it since getting it....I cant praise it highly enough, super easy to ride. Get one! comfortable
I’ve got the XR and I love it. I’ve just ridden 4,500 miles to the edge of Europe and back and it’s been brilliant. It’s easy to ride with the low down torque for when you’re feeling lazy but will happily play when you’re in the mood. There are more exciting bikes but I doubt there are many that are more satisfying.
I bought mine new last month. I've done 600mls on it now. I came from a Z1000SX. I'm 6' and 15st I'm on the standard ride height and seat and find this bike much more comfortable, it's also much more nimble. The engine is pretty decent, plenty of poke and I haven't been past 6k revs yet. The brakes are superb. I've got the ESA and ride mode and ABS Pro. I honestly think it's a brilliant and possibly under rated bike and looking forward to doing some decent rides on it. Good honest review as well 👌🏍️
I've put 1k miles on mine since I got it 2 months ago, and continue to fall further in love after every ride. It handles lady passengers like a pro too, they love it
I own one with all packages 2 month ago and I’m very happy with this awesome bike. In my opinion totally underrated. I highly recommend the Remus exhaust what sounds amazing.
Hi Kate. I loved the way that you reviewed this bike. Gave us everything we need that a lot if others reviers don't do. I wasn't even thinking of a BMW. Wasn't even in the wheel house of a bike I'm looking for. You put it in there for me. Keep up the great work. Happy trails.
Thanks for your review Kate. I've owned a 2017 Streety 765 for about a year. I loved her a lot. Even was in the alps with her. And yeah ... weight, seating position, sound, gearbox and clutch were better on her. Also, you have to get used to the quick shifter on the BMW. But I love the low down torque and the low down rumble sound on the F 900 R. The engine is absolutely smooth in low revs for a 2 zylinder engine in that class in comparison to others. It's less sporty on high revs but more usable on country roads. The (non electronic) suspension is really good. The cruise control is the best in market in my opinion (from 2nd gear and 30 km/h). The BMW is weigh better in consumption. You don't need any navigation system no more using the connected app and on display navigation. And as far as of my experience, the BMW feels more sturdy to me after > 20.000 km somehow. Just my two cents on this. And no, I'm not payed by BMW.
19:54 just got to this ask. I own one and it’s AMAZING. I also reviewed this bike on a video on my channel for anybody interested. BMW are currently struggling for parts to make the SE version / Dynamic riding options so if you can get your hands on a 2nd hand one would Highly recommend aiming for an SE as they are £10k new but spec’ed with the current £12k options. The connectivity with your phone is excellent with the BMW app, if you have a helmet intercom can hook that to the bike and your phone and control Sat Nav and Phone from the dash, quick shifter and blipper are great, power delivery can be slow and smooth or brutal depending how hard you twist the wrist, brakes are amazing. 140 miles is normal tank range. The power supply (with after market adapter) is fantastic for charging your phone whilst riding. Only negative wind protection is terrible totally battered above 69mph.
Had my F900XR TE for 3 years now and its a great all rounder. Plenty of tech, great grunt, fun when you want to get a push on but comfy for long rides. Have done plenty of week long tours and never got off it thinking id rather have been on a different bike. Build quality is great and the TFT (when combined with the BMW app) is amazing. Only criticism is the standard seat is damn uncomfortable so upgraded to a Wunderlich within a week of getting the bike. Also looks good with the BMW hard panniers. Dont know why this bike gets overlooked, maybe doesnt have the cred of equivalent duke etc but it should be on your list. Have also had a F900R on loan while mine was being serviced and had great fun on that.
The Tracer is the most versatile. Stonking engine, tall shield and panniers and it will still scratch. Take off the panniers and shield, and you have an upright sports bike.
This is the video I have been waiting for for a loooonng time. I own an F900R SE and been wanting to get your view on this for ages. You got a like and comment before I even started watching. Thanks Kate 🥰
Kate I completely agree with a couple of the other commenters on how much of a fright it was when that car started to pull out in front of you and in my case also there were one or two other vehicles who I was worried were going to pull out. This is an issue of course common to any motorcyclist and all motorcycling. I am not riding currently but when I did in the past, I always treated those cars waiting to pull into my path as a major threat, and tended to ease off the throttle a bit once I saw them, just dropping my speed somewhat so that I'd have a slower accident or none at all if they really did pull out, and also (per advice I read in the New Zealand Rode Code for Motorcyclists which was "move away from danger") always kept my distance, using the full width of the lane (unless another threat from another direction was present) to keep as far away as possible from those vehicles waiting to enter, without leaving my lane, to buy a lot more time to react / decrease the risk of contact, if they pull out. I also sometimes used to change my line (first shifting my track towards and then away from their position) as I approached them, with the express aim of alerting them to my presence and even giving them a bit of a start. I'd rather they think I'm a bit of a hazard and elevate their heart rate, than not register my presence. I hope you'll take on some extra approaches such as these, or other ideas, to mitigate this risk when approaching the humans who just may not see you, like they are prone not to do, and love to pull out as their amygdala apparently processes riders as "non threatening" even if their eyes see us, and away they go. I think the only other option is to wear high vis, but we don't tend to like to do that (and I'm no different). I really enjoyed your voice, your considered opinion on the bike, and especially your summary towards the end, setting expectations around the dynamics or otherwise of this bike. You're really clear, and unpretentious, and I love that. I also really appreciate that you a woman are doing reviews on bikes, and hope to see many more by you.
I wanted a sport tourer with emphasis on the sport but not the sport bike kind or the adv kind. With a little wind screen my f900r is comfortable at 80+ mph. I got a top box and a 30l bag that straps to the back seat. I plan on adding crash bars highway pegs and a touring seat for more long haul comfort on the expressway. But overall, it works very well.
Great walk through on the dash, everything was super clear to see with your excellent descriptions. I like this bike, but i feel it should come with adjustable forks at this price and brand. Especially since there is a cup series around this model.
I have the 2021 f900r and I love it. Comfortable, not too much forward lean to ride(bad shoulder problems) so it's nice. Not to mention the looks and compliments I get. Except the harley boys.
Its basically a 2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900 with extra bells n whistles, the old Nuda was a bored out BMW 800 motor and this has nigh on the same bhp, it even sounds similar.
Very good review, Kate. I just sold my fully specced 2020 F 900 R (18000 kms on the clock) and I would say - you got the essence of the bike. It's not a hooligan bike, but it allows some spirited riding on the twistiest. It's not a scooter, bit it's nearly perfect for the city. It's not a tourer, but it allows for long 2 up rides (me and my wife did two longer trips 2500 and 3500 kilometers and really loved it). It's really versatile, good looking bike. I've replaced it with a 2023 R1250R, because I loved the boxer engine. Are you planning to review the R1250R anytime soon? I'd love to hear your opinion on it and the differences to the 900 R. Take care!
That's why service of vehicles is necessary because petrol is used and it is burnt in engine to produce power and power has its byproducts and it also need cleaning of petrol filter. Naked bikes doesn't have farring and other bikes are called farred bikes.
Great review Kate! I have a factory lowered 2021 F900R with most of the specs you mentioned and i think you captured the essence of the bike. Extremely comfortable, very capable, predictable ( & crisp) handling and refined character. Excellent fuel efficiency. However if someone is prone to hooligan style riding, then this is definitely not the bike for them as they may feel it underpowered. I also think this bike has an undeserved bad rap from the traditional flat twin BMW fans and the sale/resale market is reflects that here in the states. However for the price i think they are very well made and sophisticated even though the engine is produced overseas.
@@Petar.M 90% of my rides are commuting (in The Netherlands, where we have daily highway top-speed limit of 100 kmph, which means I rarely go above 120). My daily commutes are 75-120 km typically. Out of that - about 80% is highway. In these conditions, depending on how easy I'm on the throttle, I'm seeing 280-330 km from full to empty. I find this to be incredibly good (after my last two bikes which were both 1250). Thus, since fuel tank is 13L, it's easy math how economic it is.
This is a nice bike and i also like the XR version too. BMW do make some really nice bikes but the dealerships spoil the experience. Keep up the great videos.
Hi, thank you for your video. This is off-bike question. But what is your Gopro set up with Gopro-media-Mod? Can you do a video on your Gopro Helmet Setup.
Sure but just to detail it in writing. I use: gopro 10, media mod, purple panda mic, ride tech chin mount. I attach the gopro including media mod onto the helmet, plug in the mic, roll up and shove the wires into my cheek padding 😊
Got one fully loaded, Done 7k in 12 months, grand fun, a proper scalpel with mitch road 6 tyre's, its a better speck better built more civilized 890 Duke. Only gripe, not loud enough.oh and the standard seat is a bum numer! Had mine refoamd with memory foam, lovely. So if you going to buy one haggle for the comfort seat in deal.
greetings from the Philippines... because of your review of this bike, I've decided to get one for myself 🙂 🙂. I'm getting the top of the line model with all the bells and whistles. I will share once I get delivery... thanks for helping to make my decision process easier 🙂
I tried this bike yesterday and it felt really good but my only problem is I don't like the design and the colors which makes me wanna spend more and get a bike with a bit more power and a better design. MV Agusta seems like that bike but it is almost twice the price. What are your thoughts on that?
Great bike, easy handling, massive torch. But do get the Ridemode Pro option, it makes for a much more enjoyable ride. Myself got it with all add-ons except Gear Shift Assist ( I can handle the cluch on my own) and all well worth it. Milage per litre above expectations.
@@Theta_Pi average around 3,9 litres pr 100 km , expected to do worse than listed 4,2 litres. Have never run tank to empty but Max milage before fueling sprrox 295 km added 12 litres
Gotta watch out for the other drivers Kate Hec watching the video thought I was going to have a heart attack right along with you great video Kate and stay safe out there
can traction and abs be turned off; on the fly ? specs vs the XR model at the same price ? seat height; pannier 2 up riding ? specs vs the xr. weight vs others ? manual rear suspension knob ? no electronic suspension as is others ? options and extras are country specific. leg positino for your height ? Much missing. data
How much do you think one can fit into a 30 minute video. That missing data is something you should probably ask a dealer and get a test ride booked.. Also its a bit unrealistic and a lil demanding to expect me to compare it to a bike that's not even in its class 😊
I think the BMW F900R is a beautiful bike to look at, but the test drive came across as rather ordinary. The test ride on the YAMAHA XSR900 was much more spectacular. With that motorcycle you visibly had a lot more fun and that's what it's all about.
Kate thank you - I was going to ask much the same thing. Which of these three bikes, please, has the most engaging steering? (I used to own the predecessor to the R1250RS, the 1200RS and it was a lovely bike but steering was more suited to stability than dynamics due to the fork angle. How about this set of three bikes - which is most dynamic in this regard?@@UsernameKate
Hi Kate, really enjoyed your review but I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the F900 compared to the new hornet. I rode the F900r a couple of weeks ago and loved it but need to test the Hornet. I own a GS and can't fault BMW for the build quality and their service but price would be a big factor as the Hornet seems like really good value. Keep er lit 😀
Thanks for the good review. I will take one as a loaner during the service next week. The big GS bikes might be too heavy for me with the arthritis setting in.
A very impressive bike, with all the options available, I think BMW will do very well with it. Thing is, someone told me that BMW workshop prices are now £160.00 Hour, yikes ! Lovely bikes though, just about all of them.
I like the engine sound. It looks great in my opinion. I'm not happy about the tank capacity, or the weird US pricing (available bikes are never base models thus the price is higher).
Sounds as though this is a very predictable step up from the F800R, which makes perfect sense. It's got a little more power, but in many ways is essentially the same bike. The parallel twin is a fantastic motor, and will provide years of service, the bike handles great, (check out schaaf on the f800r), but can be ridden as Kate notes here, by just about anyone.
Great vlog as usual…went to my local motorad dealer to test drive and they said sorry no demo You have had your license minimum 1 year…is this across all motorad dealerships?
It depends on what insurer the dealer uses but when I was selling bmw motorcycles. You had to have held your licence for one year and the only work round was if you were over 25. Then you could ride it with excess set to £1000 instead of £500. Hope this helps!
Yeah, it's a good upgrade. It's extremely easy and forgiving to ride. And while the jump in power from the G310R is quite significant, it delivers it in an easily predictable manner. The R1250R is a lot heavier. Not a problem when riding, because of the low center of gravity, but you feel it when moving it around. It's still not hard to ride, but it got endless amounts of torque and is overall a lot faster than the 900.
Ha, Yes I am from uk but now live in Australia. Stopped thinking in Stones for weight & MPH 15 years back, now in kg & kph. Just a reference point really & doesnt matter
Kate - I nearly got wiped out at that exact point turning onto the legend of Tonge Moor Road - other than going up to the CoTU that is Affetside, what you doing down there???😂😂👍👍
Thank you Dear for opening my eyes on this model from BMW. Kinda underestimated as a class of bike on the side of naked ones, ha? You mentioned the ktm790, what about the gsx s950?
It might still not be available at the moment! I'm not too sure! When I did the vlog, i wasn't aware they were struggling with the ESA units so double check!
@@UsernameKate They had been struggling to get them put on the F900R for maybe 1 year now. You couldn't even spec it in the configurator but now its back. I checked after watching your video. @@UsernameKateWELL. I were working in Altrincham other Saturday so - thanks to you - I looked in on Williams. I wanted a bike with the handlebar option, but they hadn’t got one. Great review, I have an XR TE 2022 and your comments and review are spot on for this and the previous review of the same bike. Did a 4 hr round trip yesterday on mixed roads and motorway and everything you have said is spot in. The 820mm is too high for me as last BMW was factory adjusted at 790 mm . Reluctant too get low seat as standard is quite hard and would like comfort seat for long trips. This would be even higher so caught between two extremes. Have only 1500miles on the clock due to getting septicaemia last winter and being out of the ball game for 6 months so low mileage. Only issue is an intermittent fault on the cruise control and this will be fixed at next service. You touched on this in the review regarding some options not being able to be retrofitted but one item I would like to have is Dynamic ESA retrofitted but my local dealer says not possible ? is this true ???? Rgds Phill
Once it's out the factory, seat height can only be altered by physical seats. It can't be changed in terms of chassis. If you have your heart set on a seat height reduced option (which is BMWS term for an actual lowered chassis) you'd have to find a used one with this spec already if that makes sense! 😊
@@UsernameKate thanks for the reply. Im fairly tall, so to be honest I was more thinking I would want a higher seat than lower. Which if I understand you right, I should be able to do. Thanks again!
Hey Harvey, Sorry - that was an assumption on my part because I'm usually asked about lowering. Oh you can definitely get a taller seat and it will make the bike feel miles better for you (going off tall people anecdotes as a past sales woman of these bikes)
Might test ride this or F900XR sometime. Have ridden a (used) F800R which...in my opinion was not abundant with character or refinement. I accept the F900R is newer & improved. On paper the F900XR ticks many boxes in terms of (most of) my road riding requirements. If buying any bike brand new I might want my emotions stirred somewhat... I totally sense what you say re predictablity & riding style though. The claimed fuel economy on these BMW series bikes remains impressive. Thanks👍🏍
I'm just getting into bikes and found your earlier videos really useful and fun. Now though, this sounds like a sales/explanation pitch for the first 15 mins at least.. Soz. Still going to watch your content though.
I would pm but obviously can't. When narrating the first walk-around bit: picture a friend who you're talking to, rather than an audience and don't use a script - chat, it makes the whole thing flow more naturally. So the second bit, from 7:30 in works, but by then I suspect people will have clicked off - check your TH-cam data to see, but seems likely. Other than that first bit, a great review, thank you.
I'd like to see a comparison of this and the Triumph 765 , only a couple of hundred Pounds price difference , And you've the extra cylinder bit more HP,
I actually did a comparison between the 2 bikes back in 2020 when I bought my F900R SE. For me the Triumph is so perfect at everything you somehow loose the fun factor that the BMW twin gives you when you want to push it. Also if you want to ride slowly around town the BMW is fine with that where as the Triumph Triple is always eager to accelerate and make you feel like your always holding it back.
I've just done 30k miles on mine - mix of commuting through central London, countryside, long distance tours to Europe and track days. Genuinely a fantastic all rounder which can do all of these things really well.

Amazing!! Appreciate you sharing both your experiences :)
Your wife sounds cool, lucky you! I can only imagine having a wife who would ride, like me. Really appreciate your comments about the bike.

Get one! comfortable
How much did you paid for the bike with 1000 miles on it?
@pedroresende519 so, I bought mine back in 2023 private sale, it was half the price of a brand new one!
I am not a native English speaker but really love your speech, very easy to follow and understand! :)
Where is the edge of Europe? Sagres?
What screen do you have on your XR?
The buffeting on mine is really bad above 60mph.
Did a mountain run today. Was able to run some crazy speed and leans while still being comfortable on the 4 hour round trip.
It handles lady passengers like a pro too, they love it
I also highly recommend dropping a can on it and a tail tidy + baggage rack delete - makes it look much meaner and cleaner
Well done Halliwell Jones 👏👏👏👏👏👏
The Tracer is the most versatile. Stonking engine, tall shield and panniers and it will still scratch. Take off the panniers and shield, and you have an upright sports bike.
Straight to the point and quite an honest review. Love that about your channel. 👍🏼 😎 👍🏼
I have this bike and its quite lovely. I have the lowered version and its perfect for my riding needs.
Really good to hear!!
If you could purchase this or the r nine t pure , which one would you make your ride? Chinese motor or epic boxer?
Oooh, I love that boxer engine torque 🤤
I have the bike with all options, dynamic mode feels like 20 percent mire powerfull to me, a must have. Very nice video
It really does make a difference! Feels so much crisper!
However for the price i think they are very well made and sophisticated even though the engine is produced overseas.
and how much kilometers on full tank?
@@Petar.M 90% of my rides are commuting (in The Netherlands, where we have daily highway top-speed limit of 100 kmph, which means I rarely go above 120). My daily commutes are 75-120 km typically. Out of that - about 80% is highway. In these conditions, depending on how easy I'm on the throttle, I'm seeing 280-330 km from full to empty. I find this to be incredibly good (after my last two bikes which were both 1250). Thus, since fuel tank is 13L, it's easy math how economic it is.
@@ZoranBacic thx man

Thank you very much!!! Thank you for the awesome videos!!

Amazing value for money, I’d have one of these for sure! Great video Kate 👍🏻👍🏻😎
"milage per litre above expectations" meaning?
How much do you get with a full tank? And what about consumption per 100km?
@@Theta_Pi average around 3,9 litres pr 100 km , expected to do worse than listed 4,2 litres. Have never run tank to empty but Max milage before fueling sprrox 295 km added 12 litres
@@mcmorea4142 thank you for your quick response.

Great review I've got one of these find it a bit lacking in torque but apart from that it's ok
It really is a great looking bike, especially in person
The problem is the jump in power and price to the s1000r is too much, and the r1250r is very different, and even more expensive than the s1000r
Love this! Could you add chapters on the videos for the different sections?
Excellent review. Thanks.
Gotta watch out for the other drivers Kate Hec watching the video thought I was going to have a heart attack right along with you great video Kate and stay safe out there
Me too, I swore right out loud when that car started to pull out in front of Kate, just like Kate swore. It really frightened me.
can traction and abs be turned off; on the fly ? specs vs the XR model at the same price ? seat height; pannier 2 up riding ? specs vs the xr. weight vs others ? manual rear suspension knob ? no electronic suspension as is others ? options and extras are country specific. leg positino for your height ? Much missing. data
How much do you think one can fit into a 30 minute video. That missing data is something you should probably ask a dealer and get a test ride booked.. Also its a bit unrealistic and a lil demanding to expect me to compare it to a bike that's not even in its class 😊
GEEEZES CHRIST…my heart skipped a beat as well Kate 🤦🏻♂️
I think the BMW F900R is a beautiful bike to look at, but the test drive came across as rather ordinary. The test ride on the YAMAHA XSR900 was much more spectacular. With that motorcycle you visibly had a lot more fun and that's what it's all about.
What would you rather own, this, the 1250R or the 1250RS?
I think the R1250R 😁
Great review on a great bike! What model helmet are you wearing?
F900 is half the horsepower than the M1000R. what a difference that extra 100cc makes ;)
In the BMW configurator the electronic suspension is only £380 extra !!! It's a no-brainer.
Is this a good upgrade from the G310R also how's the power compared to the R1250R
Couldn't have said anything better!
I think I was swore!
@@capz3217 thank you for that
How would you compare this to an aprilia tuono 660 factory?
I have been considering the XR 900 but have seen a lot of comments about the poor clunky quick-shifter which puts me off…

I wanted a bike with the handlebar option, but they hadn’t got one. They tried selling one to me without but I held off.
Happened to ring up Roy Pidcock BMW Nottingham last Monday, they found one, or at least he said he had, so I bought it over the phone.
Awaiting a phone call to arrange collection now. I’m 58 and coming from a vfr800. I haven’t even ridden it, but it’ll be what it is and I doubt I can go far wrong at that. At least it doesn’t say ‘stab me for it’ like a bright orange KTM might?
Thanks, luvvie 😂 - for your contribution.
Ps. The guy in Williams said you used to bring a lot of blokes through the door and I’m thinking ‘what are you implying?’ - I was working down the road…😮
Bit small and ache after 45mins.
I think good if you smaller size.
Rgds Phill
Is the seat height retrofittable? Like if you picked up a used one, could you get a different height?
@@UsernameKate no worries at all, thats really helpful. Thanks for taking the time to reply 🙂
Very good seat height options. If only they were on ALL V-Stroms!
Need a back to back with f900xr
Comparison naked or adventure
Might test ride this or F900XR sometime.
Have ridden a (used) F800R which...in my opinion was not abundant with character or refinement. I accept the F900R is newer & improved.
On paper the F900XR ticks many boxes in terms of (most of) my road riding requirements.
If buying any bike brand new I might want my emotions stirred somewhat... I totally sense what you say re predictablity & riding style though.
The claimed fuel economy on these BMW series bikes remains impressive.
Thanks👍🏍
Ohhh wow as this does not have Dynamic rider mode you also don’t have the Sports dash view which I have to say is a must and is really cool

Which route you riding Kate
I'd like to see a comparison of this and the Triumph 765 , only a couple of hundred Pounds price difference ,
And you've the extra cylinder bit more HP,
I'm hoping to get an Street Triple R in Sept 😊
I actually did a comparison between the 2 bikes back in 2020 when I bought my F900R SE. For me the Triumph is so perfect at everything you somehow loose the fun factor that the BMW twin gives you when you want to push it. Also if you want to ride slowly around town the BMW is fine with that where as the Triumph Triple is always eager to accelerate and make you feel like your always holding it back.
The bike's cost is Rs 9,99,000 ex showroom in India
Thanks WOW THAT'S AWESOME 👍✌️👌🎯👽🌹
It should be bought on full market price in India.❤❤❤❤
